I am chasing a rough man in the 80s -
Chapter 506: The Two Children are Too Brave
Chapter 506: Chapter 506: The Two Children are Too Brave
"Wait until your loose teeth grow back before you brag." Yu Shuisheng joked.
One of the chubby boy’s deciduous canine was missing on each side, which made him look funny whenever he opened his mouth.
"I don’t need to wait for my teeth to grow in to play the hero!"
The chubby boy had snacks in his pocket and had won the affection of the little beauty, Jiaojiao. He felt like a hero who saved people from mortal danger, and he feared nothing.
Although this bravery was commendable, Suizi still felt the need to caution them.
"You guys are still young and not old enough to take on evildoers directly. If you’re in danger again, certainly don’t provoke the attacker like you did yesterday. You encountered a slow-acting madman yesterday, but if you meet a nimble one, you’ll suffer."
"When you’re in danger, be sure to call for help loudly, try to get passers-by to help you. Even if there are no pedestrians around, you can use Jiaojiao’s trick: throw a handful of dirt and run fast."
Yu Jingting came over and ruffled the chubby boy’s hair.
"Good job, young man, I’ll take you both to see a movie tomorrow - and, remember what Teacher Xiaochen just said."
"We’ll remember, but I guess we won’t need it in the short term. What are the odds of such an unlikely event happening to our family again?" Wang Cuihua laughed.
But in reality, things often turn out in unimaginable ways.
In the afternoon, Suizi and Wang Cuihua were making dumplings at home.
The weather was particularly cold, ideal for freezing the dumplings. After wrapping the dumplings, they placed them on a cover curtain, and soon they would freeze solid. Put them in a bag, and they could be stored indefinitely.
Each of the two little Luobos were given a small piece of dough to knead intently.
Such a cozy atmosphere.
"Speaking of which, Jiaojiao should be back by now, right? She loves pork and celery dumplings. We made so many for her; she’ll be in seventh heaven. Hey, Suizi, do you think Jiaojiao could run into that madman again?"
Wang Cuihua still felt a little uneasy thinking about what happened yesterday.
Suizi laughed, "How could that happen? The chance of running into a madman is extremely low. Most people never have such an encounter in their lifetimes. So, how could our Jiaojiao run into one twice in two consecutive days?"
Wang Cuihua thought about it and found it reasonable.
The mother-in-law and daughter-in-law chatted about other things.
Time passed, and Jiaojiao still hadn’t come home. Suizi found it strange and was about to go out to look for her.
Yang Lao’er hurried in from outside.
"Sister-in-law, something’s happened!"
The Yang brothers were also brought by Yu Jingting from the village and were ardent supporters of Yu Jingting. They usually followed Yu Jingting around.
"What happened?"
"Jiaojiao and Xiaopang have been surrounded by a bunch of punks. Jingting has taken the person to the hospital." Yang Lao’er, the second brother of the Yang brothers, said without getting to the full story.
Suizi’s vision darkened, and Wang Cuihua was even more nervous.
"Who was sent to the hospital? Jiaojiao or Xiaopang?!"
Suizi was greatly shocked.
She had just reassured her mother-in-law that it would be extremely unlikely for someone to face consecutive attacks in such a short period of time, but it turned out to be just like that!
Jiaojiao did encounter it again!
"How are the children?!" Suizi asked anxiously.
"The two kids are fine, someone saved them. But they managed to beat up one of the hooligans quite badly, so Jingting had to take him to the hospital."
"What?! The kids beat the hooligan up and sent him to the hospital?!" Suizi almost thought she had heard wrong.
"Was it Tiegen who beat the person up?" Wang Cuihua also found it strange.
Yang Lao’er shook his head.
"Jingting happened to return from a meeting. When he arrived, the kids had already beaten the man down."
"What...really?"
Suizi and her mother-in-law looked each other, puzzled about what was happening.
Yang Laoer didn’t have all the details, he simply passed along the message.
Fortunately, Yu Shuisheng was coming back on his tractor. He would take everyone and the children to the hospital.
At the hospital, they saw Yu Jingting sitting on the long bench in the corridor with Jiaojiao and Xiaopang. Both children were crying, and Jingting seemed to be trying to say something.
"Jingting!" Suizi rushed over, and Yu Jingting looked at her as if seeing a lifesaver.
"Quickly, soothe these two, if they keep crying, they’ll flood the hospital with their tears."
"Sister-in-law, I, I think, I killed someone, whoo whoo whoo," Jiaojiao cried and threw herself into Suizi’s arms.
Xiaopang was crying even louder than her.
"It wasn’t Jiaojiao, it was me, it’s all my fault!" he wailed.
Suizi was overwhelmed by the two crying children. What was worse, Little Luobo, who was being cradled by his grandparents, started to pout when he saw his aunt crying.
Tears welled up in his big eyes at any moment, ready to join in for a symphony of "Four People Weeping."
"Please, this is a hospital. Keep quiet and don’t disturb other patients. Stop crying for a moment and tell me what happened?" Suizi pleaded.
The story had a high degree of drama.
Today, on their way home from piano lessons, Jiaojiao and Xiaopang encountered a few thugs. Without any provocation, they were surrounded.
Xiaopang tried to play the hero again, but was tossed aside by his backpack, leaving Jiaojiao in a very dangerous situation.
Just then, a junk-collecting old woman happened to pass by. Recognizing Jiaojiao, she yelled out and rushed over to help.
"Lady?" Suizi was puzzled. Her family didn’t know any junk-collecting woman, so how could this woman recognize Jiaojiao?
Yu Jingting was also puzzled. When he arrived, the battle between the old woman, Jiaojiao, and Xiaopang was over. He didn’t know this woman either.
Upon hearing this, Wang Cuihua’s eyes lit up. She slapped her forehead and remembered.
"Do you remember when I went to take care of Xiaoli’s trouble at your office?"
Suizi nodded.
Xiaoli’s family objected to his relationship with Zhang Yue’e and caused trouble at her office. Wang Cuihua happened to be there.
Wang Cuihua’s sweet talk not only made Xiaoli’s mother stop interfering with her son’s love life but also got her to hand over her cotton-padded coat.
Wang Cuihua didn’t want to wear clothes stripped off from such unscrupulous people. The clothes reeked of lowlife.
On her way out, she saw a pitiful rag-picking woman with a decrepit cotton-padded coat that was torn in places and leaking cotton wadding.
So, Wang Cuihua gave her the cotton-padded coat.
Understands the hardships of being poor as she also went through hard times.
One can be driven to desperation for just one penny, and everyone might face financial embarrassment at some point in their lives.
To Wang Cuihua, it was no big deal. Yet, the rag-picking woman remembered her kindness and always greeted her warmly on the street.
One day, she saw Wang Cuihua taking Jiaojiao out to buy groceries and realized that Jiaojiao was her daughter, so she remembered her too.
When Jiaojiao and Xiaopang were cornered by the thugs, the rag-picking woman happened to be passing by, wearing the cotton-padded coat Wang Cuihua had given her.
Seeing the injustice, she roared and stepped forward, rushing to grab one of them by the hair and didn’t let go.
The others fled in panic. The thug she held started to kick at her frantically, but she still held him tight.
In desperation, he pulled out a switchblade from his pocket!
But being Dongbei, it was so cold in the winter that his hands were a bit stiff, which made him slow down.
Seeing this, Jiaojiao and Xiaopang each picked up a brick and struck at the thug.
Jiaojiao was taller; she hit the man in the back of the head. The man rolled his eyes and passed out.
