Chapter 363: Chapter 363 - The Information is a Bit Too Much (Monthly ticket 550+ Update)
Yu Jingting searched everywhere Suizi might possibly be but found no sign of her.
Liao Yong also conducted a search, but to no avail.
"Jingting, is it possible that Suizi is upset and hiding somewhere?"
"Impossible, my wife isn’t the type to act childish."
Throughout Yu Jingting’s time with Suizi, he had never seen her lose her temper with him. At most, she would give him a nip when he teased her too much.
With two breastfeeding infants at home and Wang Cuihua still in the hospital, she wouldn’t just leave and run away.
Moreover, during their shift change at the hospital, she had tenderly straightened his collar and touched his lips, mentioning that he seemed to be running a fever, his lips were even peeling.
Remembering Suizi’s gentleness, Yu Jingting’s heart ached.
He could not accept her sudden disappearance.
Suizi had only been missing for two hours, not long enough to be considered a missing person case. Liao Yong’s assistance was purely out of personal concern.
"This is strange. Lately, there have been no cases of human trafficking in our city. The only human trafficker gang was taken down by you two. Jingting, did you two offend anyone?"
"Which one are you referring to?"
Liao Yong raised an eyebrow.
It sounds like they’ve upset quite a few people?
Yu Jingting and Suizi encountered numerous unreasonable relatives on their journey from the countryside to the city. It was too many to keep track of.
Not to mention Suizi would often encourage Yu Jingting to stand up for what’s right.
While helping good people, they also offended bad ones.
How many good people they helped, that’s how many bad people they offended.
Listing them one by one was a hard task.
The most suspicious were those who came during the hundred-day ceremony of their two babies. They were the most recent people the Yu’s family had upset.
But Yu Jingting had a feeling that kidnapping wasn’t something these cowardly people would do. So, who could it be?
Thinking about the missing Suizi, Yu Jingting’s eyes darkened.
Whoever dared to target his beloved wife, he would not spare them.
Suizi, you must be safe....
Suizi woke up in darkness. Struggling to open her eyes, a moment of blankness crossed her mind as she saw the unfamiliar surroundings.
She was carrying a freshly-cooked soup to her mother-in-law in the hospital.
Having walked some distance from home, she noticed a person lying in the middle of the road.
As Suizi passed by, she couldn’t ignore the sight and went over to check on the situation, asking if there was anything she could assist with.
Then, she felt a blow to her neck and lost consciousness.
When she woke up, she found herself in an unfamiliar place.
A shabby wooden bed, a whitish-green sanitary wall, air filled with a restroom-like odor.
It seemed to be a guest house.
Suizi was tied to a chair, unable to move. The room’s only window was covered with a curtain, leaving her unable to see outside.
The room’s light source came from a small bulb above her head, flickering on and off, indicating unstable electricity supply in the area.
Suizi quickly went through all the guesthouses in town in her head, concluding from the room’s furnishings and unstable electricity that this must be an old guest house.
Would anyone respond if she shouted for help?
Suizi quickly dismissed the idea of calling for help.
Given that her captors dared to bring her here without gagging her, it’s either that there’s no one around, or the culprit is just next door.
If she screamed recklessly and provoked the kidnapper, what would happen then?
The most pressing issue was to figure out who tied her and what their motive was.
While thinking about this, Suizi continued to struggle with her bonds, trying to free herself.
However, she soon realized the bonds were too tight, and escaping was impossible.
There were almost no resources to use in the room.
The door suddenly opened.
A person came in.
"It’s you?!" Suizi was surprised to see Fan Gao.
She hadn’t expected the person who tied her up to be Fan Gao, who had once impersonated her father!
"Ha! Suizi! Never thought you’d see this day, did you?"
Fan Gao’s speech was slightly slurred. As the flickering light played across his face, Suizi noticed he was missing a front tooth.
He had various bruises on his face.
He was much more haggard compared to when he posed as her father.
It was pretty clear he’d had a rough time lately.
Fan Gao had once posed as Suizi’s biological father in an attempt to kidnap her and induce an early c-section, hoping that the baby inside Suizi would be born at an auspicious time.
His plot was exposed by Suizi.
It was also due to him that Suizi thought of contacting Fan Huang and working with him to counter Fan Gao.
Looking at Fan Gao’s miserable state, it wasn’t hard to imagine that Fan Huang had given him a hard time.
Perhaps this was why he’d lashed out and kidnapped Suizi - these were the connections Suizi drew in a short time.
"My baby has already been born. I think you’re aware of that. I have no use for you now."
Suizi tried to reason with him.
"I know that you’ve given birth to the babies, two useless beings born at an ordinary hour!" Fan Gao took out a bottle of alcohol from his pocket and took several swigs.
His condition seemed a bit mad. Suizi couldn’t tell if he was drunk or just disturbed. She suppressed her fear and tried to communicate with him.
"Knowing that I have no value to you now, what’s your purpose of kidnapping me? You want money? You can contact my husband."
Fan Gao suddenly hurled the half-empty alcohol bottle at the wall with all his strength. The bottle clanged loudly, but didn’t break. It rolled on the ground and ended up back at Fan Gao’s feet.
He roared furiously.
"Damn your money! What can you bottom-feeders have? You’ve ruined me, you’ve ruined my life!"
Fan Gao was very close to Suizi at this point. She could even smell the alcohol on his breath.
Suizi’s heart pounded faster, and her eyes filled with tears. She dug her fingernails into her palm, forcing herself not to cry.
She knew she was the prey. The more weak and vulnerable she appeared, the more it would provoke the aggressor. She tried her best to keep her emotions in check and not to show her fear too much.
"I apologise for everything I’ve done to you, and I’m willing to find a way to compensate. Can we talk this out?" Suizi asked.
"Impossible! Fan Huang wants to kill me all because of you, but you’re not even his own flesh and blood. He wants me dead... I’ll make sure to drag you down with me!"
Suizi’s heart tightened at his words.
What she feared most was this situation. The other party didn’t want money or lust, they just wanted to die with her. This meant there was no room for negotiation.
Despite her fear, she caught onto a notable point in Fan Gao’s words—
"You said Fan Huang isn’t my biological father?!"
"You’re not his child at all! He’s so obsessed with your mother’s seduction that he even takes care of you, a little bastard! After I kill you, he won’t have a chance with your mother. Hahaha!"
Fan Gao picked up the alcohol bottle from the ground and began hitting the chair like a madman.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The loud noise filled Suizi with fear. Just as she was about to cry out for help, a furious shout came from next door.
"Damn it! What’s with all the noise at this ungodly hour?"
