Chapter 425: 419, quite a lot of information! (Fourth update)_1

Where does Liu Yinghai live? This question even stumped Xu Nuo and Little Fatty; the person in question had barely attended any class activities and was no longer in touch with classmates, who just mentioned over dinner that they hadn’t contacted Liu Yinghai for a long time.

It seemed that because of his previous incidents of vomiting and uncontrollable crying, he felt too ashamed to face his junior high classmates and slowly drifted apart from everyone, as if meeting them would remind him of his past humiliations.

But they needed to find him. With the class president going abroad, it was only logical for reporters to interview the vice president first; it was possible they might not seek him out, but Ren He couldn’t bet on that probability.

If Knight’s identity were exposed, it would affect his own life.

Xu Nuo asked around among the classmates, inquiring only about Liu Yinghai’s residence. After going through everyone, surprisingly, no one knew.

In the end, it was a female classmate who hesitantly said, "Liu Yinghai moved during our freshman year, and I heard later that his family moved to the Heaven Water Group in the new district on Zhenghe Road, from what a friend told me."

Ren He thought this girl might have had a special relationship with Liu Yinghai, perhaps even dated him before, but that was just baseless speculation when he had nothing better to do. What he should be doing was finding Liu Yinghai.

However, this female classmate could only provide the name of the residential area without knowing the specific building or unit number. Ren He decided to head there immediately, hoping to get there before the reporters did.

When he arrived at Heaven Water Group, the security at the entrance wasn’t very strict, so he went in and took a walk around, but found no clues as to where Liu Yinghai lived.

Searching aimlessly like this wasn’t going to work, so Ren He simply waited at the entrance, doing nothing—just waiting!

He could afford to spend the time now and had to resolve this potential problem.

He ended up waiting until 6 o’clock in the evening; as it was getting dark, Ren He saw Liu Yinghai with a backpack approaching from a distance and quickly turned away to prevent Liu Yinghai from recognizing him.

Being the winter break, could Liu Yinghai have been out attending a tutoring class?

With a year and a half left until the college entrance exams, attending tutoring classes was normal. Ren He had extricated himself from the struggle of studying, but others hadn’t.

Liu Yinghai’s father was likely a police officer, but the issue was that a minor official in one locality really couldn’t influence college entrance exam scores. At that time, both civil servants and college entrance exams required sitting for tests—unless you had extraordinary means, there was no room for underhanded manipulation.

Of course, proxy test-taking in small places was an exception.

He had waited all day just to see Liu Yinghai; if Liu Yinghai didn’t show up, he would have had to wait for the reporters.

The characteristics of reporters were so obvious, lugging around cameras and such, so Ren He’s plan of waiting here was never really to bring Liu Yinghai to him but rather to wait for the reporters.

By following the reporters inside, Ren He didn’t believe they would be unsure of Liu Yinghai’s residence.

Of course, finding Liu Yinghai would be the best outcome.

As soon as Liu Yinghai entered the complex, Ren He followed. He waited until Liu Yinghai entered a building and then stealthily followed, listening to his footsteps to determine on which floor he lived.

The third floor, neither too high nor too low.

After listening, Ren He went back downstairs to continue waiting. It wasn’t more than twenty minutes before he saw his quarry: a team of three reporters with a leader and one carrying a camera. Ren He hid to the side as he listened to them talk.

The one with the camera laughed, "When we called, this kid said he had a scoop and quite a few of Ren He’s dark secrets. Who knows if it’s true."

"It’s not out of the question that someone might want to make a name for themselves by stepping on others," the leader thought for a moment and said, "We’ve seen folks who heat up someone else’s scandal and end up getting attention themselves. Though their lives aren’t as good as the real deal, they still make it into the public eye and earn some money."

"These are just high school students, that shouldn’t be the case..." the cameraman said, stunned.

"Who can be sure?" the head journalist sneered and led the way into the apartment.

Behind them, Ren He overheard and raised his eyebrows. Lucky he arrived just in time, not counting on fortune, it seemed Liu Yinghai had not forgotten the humiliation of the past. He was planning to set Ren up.

In fact, most people during their teenage years don’t hold grudges; years later, even if they had fought before, they would often let bygones be bygones with a smile.

There is one kind of grudge, however, that is most likely to be remembered: the kind that causes loss of face and hurt pride.

What matters most to young people is the elusive self-esteem, especially for someone like Liu Yinghai who always thought highly of himself because of his family background.

Ren He didn’t care about that; it was Liu Yinghai who had started the trouble in the first place, mocking him day in and day out. With Ren’s temper, it was a miracle he hadn’t already given Liu a dose of Emetic Water.

He still had two uses of the advanced Emetic Water in his hands, its potency... even he was scared.

Ren He deftly climbed up the anti-theft window towards the upper floors. Since it got dark early in winter, no one noticed him as he climbed up silently. Hanging below the third floor’s anti-theft window, he pressed against the wall and gently pried open a window to listen to the activity inside.

At that moment, the journalists were making small talk with Liu Yinghai’s father. Ren He couldn’t be bothered to listen to that; after waiting for more than ten minutes for the camera to be set up, the journalist sat on the sofa, picked up the microphone, and smiled at Liu Yinghai, "Liu Yinghai, you were middle school classmates with Ren He, the current leader of the Qinghe Faction, weren’t you?"

"Yes," Liu Yinghai confirmed.

"Over the phone, you mentioned you could provide some information about Ren He that is not known to the public. Is that true? Could you share your views on Ren He?" the journalist asked cheerfully. Whether today’s news would be of value depended on what Liu was about to reveal.

They had waited all day to see Liu Yinghai, hoping he wouldn’t disappoint them.

However, Ren He, hanging outside the window, was waiting precisely for this moment. He wasn’t there to negotiate with Liu Yinghai, who would not negotiate with him either. If he had to pay Liu Yinghai hush money for such a trivial matter, Ren would feel unjustly treated, and it was quite possible that after being paid off, Liu would continue to leak information.

So, Ren He was planning to use a more direct approach...

Just as Liu Yinghai in the room was about to speak, he suddenly burst into tears...

The whole room was confused, what kind of reaction was this? The journalist stood there stunned, "I asked about your thoughts on Ren He, and you just start crying?!"

Crying for what? For the memories of the past?

I just mention Ren He and you cry; this seems to have a lot of underlying meaning! It’s such a plaintive cry; can you tell me what really happened between the two of you...?
