Chapter 133: 132. Bursting Youth (Third Update)_1

The night was busy with people setting out to watch the sunrise. Eventually, finding it bothersome, Ren He crammed everyone’s stuff into his backpack until it bulged at the seams!

Those who set off with them looked at Ren He’s youthful face and his huge backpack in confusion. Could he really make it to the top of the mountain with such a heavy load?!

Leaving from the farmer’s guesthouse to the mountain summit would take at least 5 hours, but time wasn’t the main issue; it was the difficult mountain path. At first, some uncles smiled and advised Ren He not to carry so much, telling him that there were clothes for rent and food for sale on the mountain top, so there was no need to carry everything up.

Ren He simply thanked them with a smile but continued on his way. Eventually, the uncles couldn’t stand it any longer and said that Yang Xi and Xu Nuo should help share some of the load. Both Xu Nuo and Yang Xi had been asking Ren He if he was tired and if they should carry the backpack for a while.

But Ren He had turned them all down.

So, there was Ren He, climbing the mountain while casually popping chocolates into his mouth as if he were cracking sunflower seeds.

By the time they reached halfway up the mountain, many people were starting to struggle, but when those uncles turned to look at Ren He, damn, he was just breezing through without even panting!

Ren He continued eating chocolates with a big grin on his face, cheerfully smiling at everyone and saying, "Keep going! You can do it!"

"Your sister’s ’keep going’, the uncles were totally floored. How come this kid was not affected at all?! That’s just not scientifically possible!

Also, how much can you eat, boy? We’ve seen you munching through your fifth chocolate bar on this trek!

Ren He laughingly responded, "You have to pay attention to nourishing yourself normally. The kidney is the engine of the body; once it’s weak, nothing you do will have vigor!"

Who the hell has weak kidneys?! The uncles’ faces turned green on the spot. Who are you saying has weak kidneys?!

However, Ren He’s words were like seeds of doubt; the uncles started wondering if they really did have weak kidneys. Why was it that they were struggling while Ren He seemed just fine? Could it really be that their own physical strength was lacking?

Xu Nuo muttered quietly to the side, "Could it be that I have kidney deficiency at such a young age..."

"You don’t have kidney deficiency; you’re just plain fat," Ren He rolled his eyes. So young and already worrying about such things. He’d bet that once Little Fatty started making money from games and had some cash, he’d definitely spend a good chunk on women.

But that’s everybody’s freedom. The money earned together—people can spend it however they wish, as long as they’re happy.

Ren He asked Yang Xi, "Tired?"

Yang Xi replied with a smile, "Not tired."

Saying she wasn’t tired was a lie. In reality, climbing Mount Laojun would tire any normal person. But seeing Ren He carry such a heavy backpack without any complaints, she felt embarrassed to admit her fatigue.

"Don’t force it, I can carry you for a bit," Ren He smiled. "Don’t worry, you won’t crush me."

"No need," Yang Xi turned away and continued walking upwards.

Ren He simply tossed the backpack to his front and ran ahead of Yang Xi, crouching down in front of her: "Hop on, don’t worry about me; I can carry you all the way up with no problem."

His tone was somewhat undeniable.

In truth, which girl wouldn’t want her boyfriend to give her a piggyback ride when she’s tired? Declaring ’not tired’ was mostly just pluck, not wanting to seem too delicate or to bother others.

So, boys, when you’re dating, you definitely should avoid professing your love with just words. If you want to carry her, don’t ask, "Shall I carry you?" Because when you’re polite, of course, she’ll say there’s no need.

If you sincerely want to carry her, just squat in front of her and say... "Hop on!"

Everyone grows, whether boys or girls. Actions without deeds always lack sincerity, and the other person isn’t stupid, they can see whether you’re sincere or not in a glance.

Yang Xi was a bit hesitant, but in the end, she still lay on Ren He’s back. His warm and broad spine felt cozy, and Yang Xi propped her head in the crook of Ren He’s neck, which seemed just perfect.

She thought she would let Ren He carry her for just a little bit, not wanting to truly exhaust him. Growing up, besides Yang En and Su Ruqin, Ren He was the first person to carry her. It felt like a lonely soul had found a harbor to pause at briefly.

However, the originally brief resting Yang Xi had planned turned into a complete nap. Lying on Ren He’s back was just too comfortable, with his strong arms cradling her bent legs, steadying her securely.

Her sleeping was alright, Ren He had no troubles, but Xu Nuo and those uncles’ worldviews were a bit shaken.

You’re fine with hauling a backpack up a mountain, but carrying a person too? Are you even human?! Even a donkey doesn’t have your stamina!

But to Ren He, this wasn’t much of an issue. He was willing to bet that there would inevitably be missions to climb snowcapped mountains in harsh weather, and those would be the real tests in life. This was nothing yet.

However, every so often, Ren He had to let Xu Nuo take out a piece of chocolate from the bag and stuff it into his mouth. Both of his hands were occupied by Yang Xi’s legs, leaving him unable to free a hand, so he had to rely on Xu Nuo to feed him.

As Xu Nuo stuffed chocolate into his mouth, he felt a surge of bitter feelings. Damn it, others get carried, while he, panting and wheezing, had to cater to someone eating chocolate while climbing a mountain...

But he suddenly wondered, could Ren He’s stamina be because of the chocolate? So he also took out two pieces and ate them while walking. However, besides filling himself up, they were utterly useless...

Why is there such a huge gap between people?

By the time they reached the mountaintop, the sun had not yet appeared. Ren He gently awoke Yang Xi and placed her on a large rock to sit, then handed his wallet to Xu Nuo, telling him to go rent military coats and buy instant noodles. Xu Nuo had been clamoring from halfway up the mountain to watch the sunrise and claimed that life wouldn’t be complete without eating instant noodles!

Even stuffing himself with chocolate couldn’t change his fixation.

When Xu Nuo opened Ren He’s wallet, holy shit, a thick stack of RMB greeted him. This was sheer bliss.

He decisively rented three of the best military coats and bought three servings of instant noodles before heading back.

At that moment, Yang Xi was still drowsily asleep. She hadn’t expected to sleep through the journey and arrive at the mountaintop.

A bit embarrassed, Yang Xi asked, "Are you tired?"

"Not tired," Ren He said with a smile. The whole way up, he had been feeling Yang Xi’s soft body against him, and the feeling was quite nice...

By this time, even Yang Xi started to think Ren He was a bit superhuman. How could a normal person have so much strength? Watching Ren He carry the backpack and her to the mountaintop without breaking a sweat left her in awe.

Little did they know, the uncles around them, who were panting and almost died on the way up, were speechless and contemplated giving up when they saw Ren He still had the energy to flirt.

What kind of world was this?

How terrifying were the young people of today? They grew up eating what exactly...?

The dawn was imminent, a wisp of red silk threading its way out from the clouds, turning the whole sky red in an instant!

The distant sun looked like surging tides, wave after wave rolling upwards, coloring the entire sky from red to gold as if a celestial city hidden among the heavens had suddenly descended.

Wrapped in military coats, Yang Xi, Ren He, and Xu Nuo huddled together on the cliffside. Yang Xi listened to the slurping sounds of Xu Nuo eating his instant noodles and laughed. She had imagined this scene before they set out, thinking it would be a mood killer, but now she found it amusing.

Youth could hardly bear too much pretense; what was happening right at that moment was the most beautiful.
