Chapter 429: The Young Lion and The Young Dragon
(Drakken’s POV)
[King’s Landing, The Following Week]
"Lord Drakken." Viserra bowed slightly as I approached her, Sylas by my side, "I’ve heard the news. Congratulations on having twins."
I nodded as I had my pipe on my mouth, "Yes, thank you." I said, "Frankly, everyone has been doing that. Seems having twins is quite rare, hm?"
"Well, I don’t know many people who have twins." Viserra smiled slightly
"It’s time, Viserra." I told her as I exhaled some smoke, "You’re coming with me."
She looked at me with a bit of surprise, "Oh." She said, "This time, I will come?"
I nodded, "Yes."
"Well, I look forward to it." She said, "Will it be permanent or will I be there for some time?"
"That, I still need to decide." I said as I kept smoking from my pipe, "I am sure your Father will protest, but there is virtually nothing he can do. I am his sovereign, after all. The King sits the Throne, but I am still above him."
She nodded, "Very well." She said before looking at Sylas, "And this one?"
Sylas cleared his throat, "I am here to see your sister, Princess." He said, "I wish to spend time with her."
I smirked as I lowered my pipe, exhaling some smoke, "He wants to court Daenerys." I said with a chuckle, "The nerve on this one, eh? He walked up to me and demanded it."
"Do not lie, Father." Sylas frowned, "I asked politely."
"Yea yea." I said as I waved him off, "Where’s the Queen?"
"I am here, Drakken." I turned to see Alysanne walking up to me, "There are many things I would like to speak to you about. And this one in particular, I am willing to get out of the way."
She gestured at Sylas who simply stood there.
"What?" I asked, "You don’t approve of my son courting your daughter? Remember I made the offer when both he and Gael were born? I’ve come to bargain now."
"I am sorry, but I have no intention on betrothing neither Gael nor Daenerys as of late." She said seriously, "I am afraid that you’ve brought him for nothing."
"But...." Sylas said
"Ah." I said with a smirk, "Shame..."
"Father...." Sylas said
I nodded, "I got this." I whispered to him, "Listen, Alysanne....."
"Lord Drakken." Viserra started, "Please refrain from something dire. My Mother is not in a condition to receive threats."
"Ah, seems you know what I am about to say." I looked at Alysanne, "Well, dear Queen.....seems that you are in no position to refuse what I have come here to do. Alysanne Targaryen, Mother of so many beautiful daughters, this one in particular."
I gently grabbed a lock of Viserra’s hair, who simply looked down, trying not to blush.
"Drakken....." Alysanne said, "Grant me this, at the very least. Let me be a Mother, I beg you."
"Your daughters are so beautiful, Alysanne." I told her, "Alyssa, Maegelle, Daella, Saera, Viserra, Gael.....and of course.....Daenerys....the first one.....whom was dead for a long time."
Alysanne frowned, "No..." She said softly, "Please...."
"I don’t need to keep speaking then." I said
"You told us we can do as we please with our daughters, so long as it is not Viserra." She said, "She is your Dragon Maiden, she is exempt from any reach that we have as their parents!"
"Right." I said, "But I can change my mind on a whim. And now, I want Sylas to make an attempt. Give the boy a chance to charm your girl. Well...."
"It is not a request."
***************
"That was rather cruel." Viserra said as we both stood to the side of the Secret Gardens, "I do not approve of that."
"Well, I don’t need your approval." I told her as I had my arms crossed, "Or do you think I do?"
"Of course you don’t." She said, "But still.."
We were watching as Sylas was sitting next to Daenerys, speaking to her with a gentle smile on his face while the Princess was covering her mouth while laughing. I don’t know what they were speaking about, but it seemed that they were both immersed in it.
"I understand her feelings of the matter. She wants to protect her daughters." I said, "As a father of two girls myself, I can sympathize with that. But I really don’t care. My son asked me to do this and this will happen. I haven’t decided on threatening your father to approve of the marriage, which won’t happen for quite a while. But I can do this, at the very least."
"I understand." She said
"Do you?" I raised my eyebrow, looking at her while she stood there, facing forwards, "Do you understand, my Viserra?"
She looked at me, "I understand more than you think I would." She said, her face had a certain allure to it, "I know that you do this for him solely because you feel guilt about the death of his Mother. And I don’t blame you. Saera tells me that you still mourn Lady Daranne, that the void she left in your heart was still not filled."
"Tch..." I scowled, "Did she now? That Saera, always saying unnecessary things."
"She merely spoke her mind, opening up to me." She told me, "We are sisters. We care deeply for each other."
"I know that." I told her, "I am quite aware. That is why I want you there, to keep her company. I took Saera so Maegelle won’t feel lonely. And look at me now, I am married to the both of them and they have given me children."
"Are you filling that hole that Daranne left by having children with Maegelle?" Viserra asked, "I see the way you look at her. It is magnificent, it could make any woman envious of her. You truly care for her, in your own way. When I see you with her, I don’t think I am looking at the mighty God of War and Death."
"That is a facade, Viserra." I said, "Don’t let it fool you. I am still me. I will always be me."
"I know." She said, "I know that very well."
"Good. Don’t forget." I told her, "For now, let’s see where this takes us. My son courting a princess?"
"He truly is like me."
