Chapter 966

Chloe Collins waved her hand in refusal and looked towards the fitting room door.

The next second, the door opened, and a man walked out from inside.

At first glance, a pair of long legs clad in light coffee-colored trousers appeared, with a short jacket on top. The jacket was embellished with blue and red stripes resembling those of contemporary student uniforms, appearing at the collar and on either side of the buttons. There were no other designs, and the overall color was bright blue.

Chloe lowered her eyes, her mouth curving with an irrepressible smile.

The saleswoman had a difficult-to-explain look on her face, thinking to herself what a waste of a handsome face.

Alexander Foster looked at Chloe and asked, "Rate me."

Chloe showed him her phone screen, with a ’10’ on it.

The saleswoman said, "Sir, if you dress like this, people will think you haven’t graduated from high school yet. Why don’t you try this one instead?"

She brought out the most expensive set of clothes again.

However, the man raised his hand to decline, looking at his reflection and said, "Cut the tag."

Chloe, seeing his content face, smiled.

He ordered a second set in the same style.

After this, she accompanied him to a shoe store and a hairdresser’s.

His dress shoes were replaced with sneakers, and his hairstyle got changed as well.

The pair strolled from one end of the street to the other, and many stores stopped calling him ’sir,’ instead referring to him as a "student".

The term ’student’, which he once had no feelings for or even disliked a bit, was now precious and sweet because it was associated with her.

Late in the evening, Alexander Foster drove her back to her training squad, watching her go in before driving away.

Upon arriving home and stepping through his doorway, he heard Evelyn Thompson’s voice.

"Cain, why are you still loitering? Go upstairs and do your homework!"

"New clothes from shopping again? You... You are about to take the College Entrance Exam, yet you’re so relaxed."

Alexander turned around.

Evelyn drew in a sharp breath, and leaning back, she fell into her husband’s arms.

"Honey, look."

William Foster looked over, rubbing his eyes incredulously.

"Am I seeing this wrong? Is that... Alex?"

Alex shrugged nonchalantly and said, "I’m heading up."

"Wait a minute!"

Evelyn took out her phone and snapped a photo, laughing, "Who bought you these clothes, huh?"

Alex: "Can’t it have been me?"

"Oh, please, as if I don’t know you. When have you ever bought clothes? They’re always custom-made, and this style doesn’t seem like you at all. Is it Chloe who bought this for you?"

Alex looked into his mother’s hopeful eyes and after two seconds, he nodded affirmatively.

Evelyn rejoiced: "Aha, I knew it! I told you, Chloe definitely likes our son, not the White’s young man."

Alex squinted his eyes, "Did something happen?"

Evelyn shifted her gaze for a moment and candidly told him, "Your father heard that the Collinses were visiting the Whites to discuss Chloe’s engagement."

"It’s just hearsay, but the news came from the Whites. It should be true," said William Foster.

"Son, I have a suggestion for you. Why don’t you propose to Chloe when she graduates?"

Alex looked at his mother: "She’s still young."

"She is, but she’s also an adult. She’s 20 this year. We could get engaged first, right?"

Alex sat down and said, "A wedding is a natural course of events, there’s no need to rush."

"But, the Whites are eager and restless."

Alex stood up: "Ultimately, her happiness comes first."
