Chapter 950
The two of them took a taxi back to the Fosters.
In the car, Chloe Collins had already texted Robert Foster, telling him that they were on their way home.
Upon arriving at the Fosters’ place, they saw two men standing by the main gate and a dog.
No, actually a bunch of dogs and one kitten that never seemed to grow up.
After paying the fare, they got out of the taxi.
Robert, as always, was the first one to come running, but unlike usual, he wasn’t wearing his "jumping dragon" pajamas, but a formal attire, and his hair seemed to be styled on purpose.
"You’re back!" he proclaimed.
Although he said ’you’, his eyes were focused only on Wanda Wesley’s face.
Chloe Collins walked past them, bending down to pet the Samoyed running toward her.
Behind her, the six puppies had grown quite a bit, wagging their tails and even licking her shoes.
Milk Candy nestled in Alexander Foster’s arm, its big eyes pitifully sad.
Chloe reached out to it, and the little creature jumped into her hand and snuggled in.
She put it in her pocket, then a small cat head slowly emerged.
"Meow~"
Alexander Foster looked down at it, saying, "Do you feel happy with your mother and wronged with me?"
"Meow~"
The four of them headed toward the East wing, where Evelyn Thompson had been waiting at the entrance for quite a while.
"Quincy, hey, Quincy." she called out.
Quincy came immediately, "Madam, did you call me?"
"Is what you told me true?"
Quincy flashed a flattering smile, "Absolutely, Madam, I saw it clearly, two identical rings!"
"Worn on the ring finger?"
"Yes! Both on the ring fingers!"
Evelyn frowned in thought, looking puzzled, "I didn’t see the ring on Alex’s hand today."
"They must be hiding it from the family for now and must have taken it off temporarily. They probably didn’t have time to take it off just out of the airport yesterday, but I definitely saw it!"
Quincy raised three fingers and promised.
Upon hearing this, Evelyn was elated, her face beaming with joy, "If they’re both wearing couple rings, isn’t marriage just around the corner?"
"Not far, definitely not far!" Quincy affirmed cheerfully.
As they were talking, voices echoed from the front.
Evelyn took a photo of the four people with her camera then handed the camera to Quincy, asking him to store it properly.
Then, she went to greet them with a smile.
"Welcome home, welcome home."
"Aunt Evelyn." Chloe Collins greeted by nodding her head.
Wanda Wesley was more reserved, not only nodding but also bowing slightly.
Evelyn’s gaze slowly moved downward and noticed the silver-white glow on Chloe’s ring finger, which made her heart blossomed.
"Hurry up, get inside. It’s cold outside. Dinner’s ready."
Evelyn kept serving the two girls dishes, asking her sons to help serve as well. She was so overjoyed that she couldn’t stop smiling.
After dinner, as soon as her husband, William Foster, entered the room he said to her, "My dear, there’s something I need to tell you."
"What? What happened?" Evelyn set down the prepared gift list for the marriage agreement and looked at him.
William knew that his wife loved to fuss over such things, and she’d been preparing this gift list since Alex was just in junior high. She’d add things as she came across them or remove anything she deemed unsuitable.
And especially after Chloe Collins came into the picture, she took out the list several times.
At this point, William really didn’t want to burst her bubble, but it was necessary to say.
"What I heard is that Tristan’s older sister Tessa Collins has been getting close to the Whites recently, something about a marriage proposal for Tristan’s daughter."
Evelyn’s smile abruptly disappeared.
