Chapter 909
This straightforward refusal left Sophia Spence unable to save face.
A man with silver-tinted hair and a blue headset around his neck stepped forward, took hold of her suitcase, and offered, "Let me help you."
Sophia descended the stairs, nodded, and handed over her things to him.
From a short distance away, Sherry Sullivan watched, her expression complicated.
She had also planned to go greet Alexander Foster, but surprisingly, Sophia, who had only recently joined, also seemed to know him.
At that moment, she recalled meeting Sophia at the Collinses’ celebration. At that time, she hadn’t realized the intimacy between Sophia and Alex and therefore hadn’t thought much about it.
Surprisingly, they were childhood friends.
Simon Griffin commented inscrutably, "This Chloe Collins has an unusual connection with FOX."
Sherry retorted, displeased, "Indeed unusual, they’re girlfriend and boyfriend. Therefore I didn’t mistreat her when she asked for leave because she’s obviously here for a love affair, imitating marital harmony."
Simon Griffin: "The organization rallied too many people for this mission from the Secret Network leaderboard, totally unnecessary. One person would suffice."
Sherry: "True enough, these people are just good for typing, they would be of no use even if they came."
Other detectives in the next room whispered quietly, "It’s kids these days. Even the sight of them gives me a headache. We have to take care of them if we go, it’s honestly tiring."
"Kids at this age have not seen much of the world, what experience could they possibly have, well."
"Let’s just have them stay in the hotel when the time comes."
Several people continued to complain in low voices as they walked, venting their frustrations.
Up ahead.
Nathaniel Nolan sent a message to Chloe Collins
[The one who’s carrying Sophia’s luggage is Hawk Spirit who’s been looking into us. I inquired about him the day before yesterday, the young man has not given up, he’s particularly interested in you, he said he has to track you down to give an answer to his sponsors.]
Chloe glanced at Hawk Spirit next to her, who seemed highly interested in Sophia, his eyes filled with laughter, constantly making conversation with Sophia.
But Sophia’s gaze was fixed on Alexander Foster.
Right now, Alexander Foster was occupied, surrounded by a bunch of people who were asking him questions like fans.
Some even wanted to privately challenge him in some way, or invite him to drink.
The team leader seemed to know that he didn’t like being surrounded in this way, and quickly waved those people off, instantly making things much quieter.
The group boarded the plane, their destination being the seaside city of Firedale, in Goldasia.
Goldasia is next door to Grearon, virtually having no time difference at all.
When the plane landed, it was still daytime.
The team leader stopped everyone from checking into the hotel, two people to a room.
Naturally, Chloe Collins and Wanda Wesley shared a room, Alexander Foster along with Nathaniel Nolan in another, Sophia Spence with Sherry Sullivan.
There were eighteen people in total, split among nine rooms, all on the same floor.
After having something to eat, the team leader gathered everyone for the meeting.
There was a small projector in the room.
The team leader stood in front of the screen, analyzing the current situation for everyone.
He pointed to the red line on the map, "Mr. Hamilton’s signal came from here. He told us that the area is heavily guarded, almost impossible to infiltrate. It seems they’re up to something very secretive. He suggested investigating further and then having us come. Once we have the evidence, we’d contact the local embassy and the police to apprehend them together."
"So what are we doing here? Waiting?" someone asked.
The team leader gave a mysterious smile, "Of course not. Next, I will be assigning tasks."
