Chapter 893: Chapter 893: No. 13 is Dead_1

Chapter 893

Alexander Foster: "The case is related to No. 13?"

"Yes, there are signs at the crime scene that she used physical force, and we had a run-in with her at Edward Turner’s house before, so there’s no doubt it’s her."

The path that Heijii pointed out also led her to confirm that No. 13 was one of the involved parties that night.

At that point, sounds came through the headset, along with Heijii’s fragmented voice amidst the wind noise. The signal was too weak.

"Heijii?"

"Boss... Boss... I’m late, they have... have already moved..."

The varying signal strength chopped Heijii’s words into several parts.

"What about the clues Wanda Wesley left?"

"Gone!"

With a snap, it went completely silent on the other end.

Alexander Foster sped up the car, rushing towards the direction as fast as he could.

Just as they were about to reach the mountain, Heijii suddenly sent a message that he and Maurice Willis were heading to the hospital.

"Hospital?"

"Yes! Wanda Wesley just contacted me, saying she and No. 13 are in the hospital now. She didn’t say much else!"

Chloe Collins got the address and instructed Alexander to change the route.

It took them more than an hour to meet up with Heijii at the hospital, and they entered the ward together.

When they arrived at the floor where Wanda Wesley was, they only saw Wanda talking to the police and making a report.

Then, the two policemen left without paying any attention to them.

"Wanda Wesley!"

They walked over and saw Wanda looking messy and disheveled.

There were beads of sweat on her face.

She slowly raised her head to look at Chloe Collins, her eyes apologetic: "I was too late, I couldn’t save her."

Just after she spoke, a figure covered in a white sheet was suddenly wheeled out of the ward and taken towards the morgue.

Seeing this, Chloe’s gaze flickered.

Once the nurse wheeled the body away and they were left alone in the corridor, Wanda slowly began: "I couldn’t keep up with them, when I arrived, I only saw No. 13 lying alone in the park. Aside from me, there were other witnesses, they called the police, and I followed the ambulance here."

"By the time she was in the ambulance, No. 13 couldn’t make it. The cause of death was a sudden cardiac arrest."

"There were no physical injuries, no drugs involved, she just dropped dead suddenly."

Heijii: "What about the gang she was with?"

"I don’t know. Actually, when I first started chasing, I only saw one car. When we got to the mountain, the car and No. 13 had separated. I followed No. 13 to the park, searched for a while, and found her on the sidewalk by the lake. She was unconscious by that point and first aid didn’t work."

"Oh right, when she left the Dark Alliance, she was holding a box. But in the park, there was nothing in her backpack except her ID."

"The police are treating this as an accident. They are already contacting her family to claim the body, they probably won’t investigate further."

Chloe pondered for a moment, then: "It seems like they dumped her."

"You mean, they intentionally let her lead me off their trail?"

Chloe Collins: "They must have known that No. 13 wouldn’t have much time left, so they dropped her. Their objective was the Platinum Order. Once they got their hands on it, their mission was accomplished."

Alexander Foster: "What about her personal information?"

"Oh, I took a picture of it."

Wanda took out her phone and showed it to them. Chloe Collins took a look at her ID, then stepped out of the messaging app, clicking into a special blue-arc software.

She then entered No. 13’s ID information.

"As I suspected." she muttered, staring at the results.
