Chapter 864
Ignoring Chloe’s words, the old lady said, "Hold this for me, I’m going to see my precious boy."
Chloe Collins: "I have to go back to my dormitory."
"So take it back with you, can’t make these old bones do all the carrying, can I?"
With a snort, the old lady rushed off towards Bennett White.
Her sprightly pace rivalled that of any young person.
-
Two days later.
When Bennett White left the Dark Alliance, the organization held a farewell party for him.
Only a few could attend, most of them were the organization’s executives and his contemporaries.
The old lady sent word for Chloe, urging her to come as quickly as possible, to escort Bennett White to his car.
She had even said that she was going to take off Bennett’s mask and take a good look.
As Chloe stepped down the staircase, she bumped into a familiar face.
Once he called out her rank from her time at the Temple, shivers ran up and down her spine.
"Eleven," he called out again, a smile playing on his lips.
"Medical staff?"
He stepped forward to hug her lightly, then let go after two seconds: "It’s me."
"I’ve finally found you."
"How... How did you get in here?"
"I came to take you away."
She paused for a moment, replying, "I do not want to leave just yet. I want to make a name for myself here."
Suddenly, someone came running.
"Fu, this is bad, Heijii and the others were taken away by Cold Lizard’s people!"
...
The sudden uproar gradually faded into the distance.
Chloe’s vision became hazy. The long and distant images, suddenly scattered, evolving into memorabilia in the White Skill Hall.
She took her eyes away, walked into the materials room to get what she needed and then came back.
Shaking the airbrush, she started to draw.
She used to play with this a lot and therefore, had no trouble painting with it.
As she painted, four people, one of them elderly, led three newcomers towards the doorway holding small lanterns.
The three newcomers were all wearing silver masks and matching black uniforms.
"Okay, you two are in charge of hanging up the lanterns, you, you’re responsible for the ladder." He handed the lantern to the tallest member of the group, "You’re the tallest here, so you hang them."
The person accepted the lantern but didn’t move an inch.
Suddenly, his gaze shot towards a girl painting graffiti on the wall.
She was also looking at him.
The girl seemed to be in a daze, still holding the airbrush but not moving an inch. Even when others called out to her, she did not respond.
After his gaze swept across her wildly exaggerated outfit and the solitary wing on her back, he turned away.
The dazed girl was Chloe.
She was turned around due to a peculiar smell.
The faint smell of mint mixed with milk was unmistakable. It was Alexander Foster!
She hadn’t expected to run into him here, and she couldn’t help but scrutinize his appearance.
The newcomer’s uniform and mask were average, without any distinctive features, but his unique aura couldn’t be hidden.
His demeanor clearly distinguished him from the other two newcomers.
"Are you done painting yet?" The supervisor suddenly stood in front of her, obstructing her view.
She cleared her throat and replied lightly, "Almost done."
Thunk.
A noise resonated from next door.
A lantern that had slipped from a man’s hand was dropping to the floor, his indifferent gaze was focused over here.
Chloe was certain that he had recognized her voice.
It seemed she hadn’t mistaken the scent for Alexander’s, and the silhouette was his too.
But what was he doing here?
Nothing more than a newcomer?
Regularly reporting to the organization?
This thought flashed through Chloe’s mind.
For the next five minutes, one was slowly hanging lanterns while the other painted.
Suddenly, a lantern dropped onto Chloe, she turned to look at him standing on the ladder.
He leaped down straight away and walked over to her: "Thank you."
His mask was thin and for someone familiar with him, it was virtually useless. With a few more glances, they could recognize his original face.
Chloe glimpsed at the smirk on his lips, dropped her gaze, and put the lantern back into his hand.
The next second, her hand was held tightly.
