Chapter 1099
With a sideways glance, Chloe Collins reluctantly wiped the drool off her cheek, murmuring, "Graceless."
Grinning, Layla linked arms with Chloe, saying, "Don’t mind, don’t mind. Let’s go, let’s go, we should check on Wanda."
Wanda was at the Music Association’s registration for new members.
Even before they got there, they could hear at least three different instruments being played, and poorly at that.
"Wandy wanted to learn how to compose music so that she can communicate with Robert Foster, but I don’t think this Music Association really measures up. Look, there are only a few individuals, and they were even making mistakes just now," Layla pointed out.
"It’s okay to join for fun," Chloe gave a glance to the new members’ guide.
Her face was highly recognizable; she had no sooner stood in the doorway when someone came out with a registration form, trying to convince her to join.
Quickly, the Rollerblade Club and the Comic Club from next door also made a beeline for her. In a little while, people from the Tea Association and Basketball Club across the way also joined in the hubbub.
Her minor celebrity had caught the attention of those in the Club Association. Their recruitment efforts had ended, but there were still some present, maintaining a watchful eye until the recruitment activities ended completely.
Half of those sitting here now were new students.
"Isn’t that Chloe Collins? The popular newcomer, which club has she joined?" Someone from the Club Association spoke.
The Student Council next door chimed in sarcastically, "So, she didn’t join you guys after all. I thought you had roped her in."
The Club Association and Student Council were both major organizations on campus, and there was occasional competition between them. Due to some historical issues, the two sides didn’t see eye to eye.
At that comment, one of the Club Association’s old men retorted, "Well, you didn’t manage to get her to your side, either. What are you criticizing us for?"
"We already have Chairwoman Mane York, why would we need her?" The man replied with an air of superiority.
Cherry Foster and Raine Nolan were sitting in the Student Council’s camp, shaking their heads silently at the scene.
"What’s the fuss about? With Chloe Collins’ personality, who could she possibly submit to? She’d just be trouble anywhere she went," Cherry grumbled.
Raine handed her the peeled grapes, saying, "I suppose they’re just scrambling for the heat around the upcoming School Beauty election."
She felt a twinge of discomfort saying those words.
In the past, the mention of the School Beauty always included her. But now, she could not even make it into the top ten.
Not to mention stirring up discussion.
In fact, she now stood in Cherry’s shadow.
Raine cast Cherry a glance.
Moistening her lips, she asked, "Cherry, is Jameson going to pick you up later?"
"Mhm, he said he’d drive by and take me out for dinner."
Jameson Spence, who didn’t make it into Capitol University, was attending the University of Economics and Finance, which was only a ten-minute drive away.
Raine caught a glimmer in her eye, and asked softly, "Cherry, can I join you guys for dinner?"
"Huh? What about your boyfriend?"
Raine smiled, "Let’s invite him too, get to know each other."
Cherry didn’t think twice about it: "Sounds good."
Raine had barely started college when she was vigorously pursued by the Student Council President. Within ten days, Raine had accepted the relationship.
The Student Council President was two years older than them, from a well-off family in the Capitol, but they were not in the same year and thus, not familiar.
As the two girls were chatting, next to them, the Student Council’s old members had visibly irked the Club Association’s old members so much that two of them got up and walked towards Chloe Collins, attempting to recruit her.
Over here.
Seeing the situation getting more chaotic, Layla grabbed Chloe and Wanda and squeezed their way out of the crowd.
"Chlo-Chlo, why don’t you just join a random one?"
