Chapter 1023
"Have you confessed to him?" Layla Lowell cautiously asked.
Wanda Wesley shook her head, taking a sip of her drink.
"He was happy, I didn’t want to ruin it."
The cell phone in her pocket was buzzing persistently.
Having glanced at the group chat, Layla said: "Robert Foster seems to be looking for you. He’s asking what you really wanted to tell him."
"Ignore him," Wanda said dismissively.
Layla came over to give her a hug, and reassured her: "It’s alright, there will be a better one next time."
Then she realized she might have said the wrong thing.
Better not to say any more.
Two tears slipped from Wanda’s eyes, which she quickly wiped away.
She recalled the dilemma she had faced not too long ago.
To study medicine or physics.
She had agonized over this decision for a long time.
So much so, she even couldn’t focus on the Chemistry competition.
In the end, she finally reached an answer.
But...
Lifting her head, she downed her drink, swallowing all her grievances with it.
Layla, ever the life of the party, opened all the remaining bottles of alcohol, joining them in their drinking
They drank into the late hours of the night until it was pitch black outside.
Both Layla and Wanda were leaning on the table with a glazed look in their eyes.
Layla placed her hand on Wanda’s head: "It’s alright, heartbreak is not terrifying. What’s scary is losing your zest for life after being heartbroken. We’re still young, we’ll be going to university, there’s a whole world out there waiting for us."
"Say it with me, f*** the Music Academy and f*** Robert Foster."
Wanda mumbled something, with her eyes half-closed.
The door opened just a fraction, allowing two men to stand in the doorway.
Charles Carrington looked in with a casual air, asking, "Aren’t we going in?"
"Isn’t appropriate."
"What’s not appropriate? Look at them, half-drunk. There’s no time more appropriate than now."
Milton White turned his face away, leaning against the wall: "You go ahead."
Charles paused for a moment, then said: "Are things still that way between you and Alex?"
Milton remained silent.
"Impressive." Charles gave a sarcastic comment before turning to leave.
Milton received a call, it was from Tristan Collins.
"Milton, did you find her?"
"Yes."
"That’s all that matters, take her home and make sure to take back the family register, she is too naive."
"Tristan, what do you really feel about her?" Milton asked.
At this, Tristan was taken aback.
"Back then, you knew fully well that letting her leave would lead to today’s outcome, why were you so insistent? People have feelings, her feeling cold to this is not surprising."
"Alright, there’s no need to discuss this with you. Just bring her home." Tristan cut him off, hanging up the phone.
Meanwhile, in the private room,
Layla was toying with Wanda’s hair as if petting a puppy, while continuing to comfort her.
"Don’t be heartbroken. It’s alright. Every single one of my friends has been heartbroken at least three times with all their boyfriends cheating on them. Your situation is not that bad, he didn’t do it on purpose. We’re still young. If he comes back and you still want to, you can get back together."
"What if someone else chases after him?" Wanda asked, her eyes devoid of life.
Going abroad for four years, four years, could change many things.
Layla was taken aback temporarily, then quickly reassured her: "It’s alright! It’s alright! Alex is even more pitiful, you know. He chased after Chlo-Chlo for so long and Chlo-Chlo doesn’t even like him. He’s even older than us, think of his experience and you will feel better."
"I like him."
The soft female voice sounded out unexpectedly.
It was quiet, calm.
Yet, in a flash, it exploded like dynamite in Layla and Wanda’s minds.

(You heard that right! My feelings for Chlo-Chlo!)
