Chapter 1010

Everyone was looking at her, but she didn’t respond.

A few seconds later, the class bell rang, and everyone quickly returned to their seats.

That night, she didn’t go back to the Fosters’ home, but instead returned to her own small villa for some solitude.

It had been a long time since she had been back, and now it was already early summer.

Heijii had been coming over regularly to clean, but still, something had been neglected.

There were morning glories growing in her courtyard.

Although the roots were buried in her yard, the branches were climbing into the yard next door.

Several small bamboo stakes were used to guide them so they could climb over.

As a result, the scenic view was mainly in the neighboring yard.

When she walked over to the neighbor’s, she could hear a woman’s voice from afar: "Guys, ninety-nine bucks, I’m not kidding you today, one pack! Two packs! Three packs! Four packs! And then another four packs! Ninety-nine bucks, eight packs! It’s not enough! Folks, I’m going all out today! Ten packs! Come on! Ninety-nine bucks for ten packs! You bring them home!"

The sounds of enthusiastic sales were being broadcasted from the window.

Outside the doorway, two teenage boys were trying to figure out how to roast a chicken they just bought.

It was Brent and Rupert Frost, two brothers around five or six years old.

They had dug a hole in the yard, apparently planning to roast the chicken in a traditional Chinese style.

"Bro, will we have meat to eat today? I don’t want to eat instant noodles anymore."

"Don’t worry, I saw how people on TV did it, it’s pretty simple. We have already dug the hole, and later we just need to wrap the chicken and put it inside, and then start a fire."

"Ah, it would be great if the sister next door was here, she always orders take-out, and we could share hers."

"But the sister next door hasn’t been back in a long time, she might be dead."

"Ahem." Chloe Collins coughed lightly.

The children instantly turned their heads, and immediately saw the beautiful lady standing outside the fence. Their eyes lit up, almost dropping the chubby white hen in their hands.

"Beautiful Sister!"

Both of them ran over, opened the gate in one pull, and then each clung to one of her legs.

"Sister, where have you been?"

"Sister, do you have any meat?"

Chloe looked down at them: "Want a free meal?"

"Can I wash dishes for you?"

"I don’t have any dishes that need washing."

The brothers’ eyes dimmed: "Bro, it seems we will starve."

"Isn’t your mom at home?" Chloe asked indifferently.

"But she’s just broadcasting all day, then sleeping, then eating instant noodles. She doesn’t have time to take care of us."

"What about the nanny?"

"Mom said she’s afraid that Dad might have an affair with the nanny, so she didn’t hire one."

"What about your dad?"

"Dad is on a business trip." The brothers shrugged.

Chloe: "( ̄△ ̄;)"

Ten minutes later.

Chloe was playing a mobile game in the pavilion in the courtyard.

Next to her, the two brothers had built a simple oven with the mud they had just dug up.

"Sister, it’s ready."

"Hmm." Chloe responded, then directed them to wrap the seasoned chicken in foil, smear yellow mud all over it, and finally put it into the hole to start the fire.

The two brothers were busy and dirty, but seemed quite content.

Chloe, bored, finished a round of the game, put her phone aside, and turned to watch the two brothers whose teamwork in starting the fire.

She was momentarily reminded of the time when she had just been sent to the mountains.

She has always loved meat since she was a child, but when she entered the temple, she was practically cut-off from it.
