"Just listen to me, Arissa," Nicklaus demanded, almost like a plea, "I never lied. I mean_ fuck," he cut himself off.

"What_" Arissa turned to him, "You never lied? Okay, go on. Defend yourself, tell me what you would call that,"

Nicklaus chuckled bitterly, "You are never going to accept me as your husband, are you?" this time, he did not try to hide the hurt in his heart as his voice did well to express the hurt.

Arissa looked at him, "That’s not what we are talking about,"

"Answer me, Arissa. Don’t dodge my question," he said.

Arissa blinked, "You_"

She paused. Shrugging her shoulders, she tried to act unaffected with the emotions he was showing her.

"I what?"

Arissa stopped talking and just thinned her lips as she stared at him.

"I legally have all rights to your body. So, tell me, why are you so furious with what I did?" Nicklaus questioned, crocking his left brow at her.

"Fuck! answer me." he growled at her when almost a minute more, she just stayed muted and stared at him, "Whereas, we already had sex," he hinted, "So, why did you lose your temper just because I changed your shirt, to avoid you from sleeping dirty,"

The "dirty" part got her and she could not help giving him a glare.

Arissa bit her inner lip. Parting her lips, "You saw my body," she remarked and Nicklaus shut his eyes as hurt ripped his heart open.

Seriously? She was still emphasizing that?

"You took advantage of my drunk self and you lied to me," she added, making the list so long.

"You are so unbelievable," Nicklaus remarked in disbelief. The hurt in his voice increased.

"I am?"

"Yes, you are," Nicklaus nodded and silence poured between them.

Grief flashed across Nicklaus’s eyes for a split second. He was tired of fighting with her and all he wants to do was to make things work between them.

Like divine retribution, a hand full of the scenes where he had coldly sent the ladies away after their pay visited his memory.

Celebrities and models alike, a handful of them who had begged just for an additional day tormented him. Karma is a ducking bitch!

Never had he thought he would also be in that shoe one day. He chuckled at his thoughts. He had never expected himself to stoop this low into begging someone to be around him - and the fact it was his wife stunned him more.

He shut his eyes and parted them immediately.

He ought to walk away but he couldn’t. It was just as if his feet were glued to the spot and the same goes for Arissa as she did not attempt to walk away from him.

Nicklaus meet her eyes and his feet instantly had minds of their own. Taking a step toward her, he slammed his both hands to the wall, trapping her in his arms again.

Arissa gulped. Having no additional space behind her, she just stood still because a step backward would be impossible since her back was already on the wall.

She watched him and her eyes trailed away from his eyes, to his perfect sharp nose and his jawline. Yeah! She had skipped his lips on purpose.

Those kissable lips of his were too sinful. With their bodies this close, she wasn’t sure she would be able to stay put without kissing him.

Her eyes trailed down to his perfect jawline and up again to his highlighted cheekbones. Her mind ran wild when he took another step closer and she drew in a sharp sensual breath when his muscular body frame pressed on her chest.

"Nick_" Arissa paused when she saw unexplainable emotions in those dark eyes of his that stared into her soul. Her lips parted on their own accord when she acknowledged those emotions like the one from that night - the night at the club, her first night.

At the exact moment her lips parted so slowly and beautifully, a strong arm sneaked around her waist and before she would react, he pulled her closer with no space for air to pass between them.

Pulling her closer, he sealed their lips together and everything around them froze. Even time.

Arissa gasped in the kiss and Nicklaus did well to swallow her gasp.

Too stunned by what was happening, she wasn’t even able to blink. Arissa stiffened momentarily as her brain tried to process what was happening.

Nicklaus was kissing her? No way!

With fear, he might back away since he wasn’t a kisser, Arissa found her hands suddenly wrapping themselves around his neck. His lips were as light as feathers and his body language showed he had no plans of going deeper.

Wanting more, Arissa pulled him in.

However, much to her dismay, Nicklaus forcefully backed away the moment he realized what she was doing.

"Why did...." At once, Arissa became wide-eyed and a deep flush filled her cheek with the realization of what she was about to say. What was she about to say? She was about to ask why he ended the kiss.

Nicklaus was enchanted as he stared down at her glowing beauty. The dim light only did well to highlight her features and with the pink color on her cheeks, a ghost smile appeared on his lips.

"I also kissed you last night," he whispered, his breath fanning her face with his eyes glued on her rosy lips.

Arissa’s legs trembled. His voice was low and dominant but Arissa found it extremely sexy.

Her brown eyes traced his ripped muscles that advertised themselves underneath the casual gray shirt he was on.

Taking her eyes off his body frame, they met with his lips and back to his eyes. Much to her surprise, she was thrilled he kissed her last night.

Perfectly reading the emotions, she realized he wants to back away and instantly, her inside panicked with refusal to let him back away.

"I guess I would be the one saying sorry this time around," Arissa forwarned and with hot breaths, she tossed away all restraints.

Nicklaus who got confused with her statement, proceeded to let go of her waist and at that moment, he was caught off guard as Arissa pulled him in again.
