His Toxic Addiction
Chapter 71: Triple sorry.

Chapter 71: Triple sorry.

Collins turned to Jocelyn and seeing her straight face, he released a frown. He had been hearing explaining what happened between him and Arissa at the auction.

He had expected her to have little emotions on her face but the girl was just stone cold heartless. Her straight face was discouraging and her arms folded on her chest as if she was using her emotions to mock him.

He continued nevertheless, giving her his last line. "Even if it hurts me, I did everything I can to make sure she was happy," Collins turned away from Jocelyn since she seemed uninterested.

He was taking his last report on Adele, so he can transfer her medical reports to the doctors over here to take care of her progress and recovery.

He has to leave so he can live.

"Hmmm," Jocelyn exhaled deeply.

Frankly, she had been listening to everything Collins had been saying but she wasn’t motivated to say anything.

When she first noticed the feelings, she hit him up to inform Arissa but what did he say? He said, "I have all the time in the world to do that,"

Jocelyn scoffed, remembering Collins’s excuses back then. And now, she wondered what happened to all the times he had, or, was rapture suddenly occurring and she was still unaware?

’If so, I guess I just say my last prayer along with Collins taking action now," she taunts inwardly.

"If you do love her, I guess you would respect her decisions. _"

"I thought you were not listening," Collis cut her off as he turned to her. If there was anyone who gets on his nerves the most, it was Jocelyn.

Jocelyn smirked as if she read his thoughts. And with that smirk, Collins rolled his eyes. She surely does know she annoys him the most.

"She’s going through a lot and with her sister still unconscious and her parents trying to find her, together with her marriage, I don’t think Arissa would realize it even if she does love you. Just let her be right now, all we have to do is to ease her burdens, and with your confession...." Jocelyn’s voice trailed off.

Collins breathed. Knowing Arisssa, he understands what Jocelyn was about to say.

"_Arissa would feel the most hurt even if she wasn’t the one rejected." Jocelyn continued with reasoning.

Collins thinned his lips. He was about to say something but unexpectedly, the door was pulled open without a knock.

Arissa walked in with a reserved air around her. Not sparing Collins a glance, she moved over to Adele. Taking off her black-tinted sunglasses, she watched Adele a little, and with a kiss on her sister’s forehead, she stood straight and looked directly at Jocelyn, and from Jocelyn’s shocked expression, her answers were answered.

Jocelyn - any other day from now would have moved forward to hug Arissa but right now, she was tongue-tied and feet tied.

From the way Arissa walked in, they do not need to guess about it. Arissa had been eavesdropping at the door and she overheard everything.

Jocelyn gave Arissa apologetic and explanatory eyes. Arissa must be furious at her for keeping something this big away from her but if you ask her, she had always tried to tell Arissa but at the same time, do not want to hurt Collins in the process.

Arissa gave Jocelyn a genuine smile and before Jocelyn knew it, Arissa walked over to her. Pulling her up from the couch, she hugged her. "We have a lot to talk about," Arissa whispered and if not for Arissa’s broken voice, Jocelyn would have thought it was about Collins but with the sadness in the voice, she suspected more.

Raising her hand, Jocelyn rubbed Arissa’s back before whispering back, "Okay," and with that, Arissa pulled away.

Turning to Collins, "Do you...think we can talk," Arissa asked with a little stammer as she tried to guard her emotions.

Collins stared intensely at her and for the first time, he questioned her, "Why?" and this made Jocelyn raise her brows at him with questions.

Arissa was about frowning with his cold shoulder and off vibe but still, "How have you been?" she asked since she do not know where to start talking to him.

Collins’s heartbeat fastened with her question. He tried his hardest not to smile, "What do you care? You already let me know you don’t love me," Collins answered instead. He knew he sounded petty but he could not help it. The hurt was there.

Arissa’s control over her facial expression dropped and she finally frowned. "Just because I don’t love you the way you want me to, doesn’t mean I don’t love you with everything I have," she confessed, kind of but with his words.

Arissa’s heart was big enough to accommodate everyone who would be willing to come in and for Collins, he wasn’t just in her heart in fact, he had an apartment in her heart so what’s with his words and actions this morning?

She continued.

"I’m sorry, triple sorry. I mean, if there is a word bigger than sorry, id say it. I was never aware of all your hurtings," Arissa went on with her apology. She was also hurt but he would not just get it - Collins isn’t just anyone to her and even if she doesn’t show it, it hurts her that he’s hurt.

Collins’s expression softened and his walls dropped. He realized how selfish he was being, "I’m sorry." he apologized.

Arissa nodded.

Shutting his eyes with a deep exhale, he opened them again, "Let’s grab breakfast downstairs," Collins offered.

He has a lot to apologize for and talk about but with Jocelyn’s bored expression, there was no encouragement at all.

Arissa turned to Jocelyn, "Would you join us?" she asked.

Jocelyn shook her head.

"Nah! Just send me a package. I prefer to be in this comfort zone all day long,"

She understood why Collins suggested downstairs. He wants privacy and she would give him that. He should make sure not to burden Arissa and only then, they’re good because if he does, she would cut out his balls and offer them to him - fried.
