His Toxic Addiction -

Chapter 61: Potential Dangers.
"How do I look, Vincent?" Logan asked his second-in-command as he added more gel to his hair, styling it backward.
He looked more handsome and less rough. His sandy brown hair was so neat and his diamond artificial teeth were off, showing his natural white teeth.
He looked like a whole new person today.
But, there was still a tiny bit of insecurity in him.
He would get to meet his bride-to-be in person for the first time since he knew her and yes! he wants to impress her with his appearance.
He knows his handsome but sadly, he also knows Nicklaus was far more handsome than he was.
"Erm," Vincent cleared his throat.
He had never for once seen his boss in a mood as high as this. Though, his thoughts were delusional because the person in question was married and the public opinion about them only turns sweater in seconds.
But still, he laid down his opinions if that would make his boss feel better, "You look handsome as usual but, I think women prefer men who add ties to their suit,"
Logan turned to the tie he tossed away earlier. He hates ties. He just loves the part where there would be no hindrance to him taking off his clothes.
But, if as Vincent said; she might find him more attractive, then he guess he would have to put in on. For her!
Yes, just for her!
Picking up the tie, he placed it across his neck and met Vincent’s eyes from the vanity mirror, "Help me with the tie," he ordered.
Not liking the part about blending an outfit with a tie, he simply did not learn how to put it on since it would be such a waste but now, he has to put it on.
Vincent nodded.
Initially, he thought his boss would reject the idea or worst still, do something unpleasant but he was wrong because whatever girl his boss was going to meet today seemed to have him controlled and back to his senses.
And successfully, the tie was fixed on Logan’s neck. Looking at himself, he has to admit that the tie did add more than eight percent handsomeness to him again.
He winked at himself.
Turning to Vincent, he nodded and they walked out of the door, remembering something, he added, "Tell everyone to drop their weapons for today and also, I want no more than three escorts. You included!"
Vincent nodded his head as he took the order. Seems like their boss wants to go all gentlemanly for whoever she is.
Rolling his eyes, he looked at his wristwatch. For an event that would start by nine, his boss was stupidly early.

Jocelyn sigh as she stood up from the couch she was seated on. Collins was taking the auction over himself, more like he was the main host, and now, he was asking her the color of suit that would look more bright on him.
"The blue," she gave in to pick a color with a little eye roll. Anything more than this, he surely would get her irritated.
Collins’s jaw dropped like he did not believe her and he looked over to the white suit on his left hand, "I thought the white would be preferable," Collins mumbled.
Jocelyn turned to him with a shrug and a sudden urge to hit his head with anything at sight clouded her aura, "If you knew from the start, then why did you ask?"
All she wants to do at this medium was to just relax and take care of Adele. Even concerning Freya and her manager, she has no strength to talk to them for now.
That alone shows how she wants to disappear but this dude keeps on asking her more and more questions.
Collins sigh.
And moving over to the couch Jocelyn just stood up from, his shoulders dropped and his face turned downcasted as he slumped into it, "You are her best friend. So, I just guessed you would help me get to her standard of men," he said sadly as if he just lost all the hopes in the world.
Jocelyn turned to him and moved her eyes over to the red roses bouquet he planned to take to Arissa today at the auction and that’s why he was going.
Pfft! He wasn’t going because her parents invited him. He was going because he wanted to take the first step he was talking about over the phone with a friend on her and that first step was offering flowers which he would do but... but Jocelyn wasn’t buying any of it.
Why did he suddenly start taking moves now? She noticed Collins’s feelings way back but each time she thought he would speak up, he did not.
"I’m sorry. But why did you start taking bold steps now that she’s married?" Jocelyn asked calmly as she came to his side and stood beside him looking at his slumped sad shoulder. She now felt bad for answering him in such a way.
He just needed her help - sigh. This was way more hectic that dealing with trolls.
"I guess the thought and sight of her being with someone set me up on the track," he raised his sad face and looked at Jocelyn, "I had always thought I had time, and knowing her view on love, I decided to be slow and let my feelings out through my actions but....," he trailed off, "but she never noticed," his voice broke at the end and he dropped his head down.
Jocelyn’s frowned a bit. This was unhealthy.
"So, what would you do if she by any means rejects you?"
Collins’s head snapped up to her and his eyes held fear, surprise, and a tiny bit of hope in them and all these combinations broke Jocelyn a little.
"I guess.....I guess I would have to let her go," he proclaimed. "If being with me would not make her happy, I would only have to let her go,"
Jocelyn smiled at him. The sincerity in his voice was so heartfelt and she could not help but feel warm by him.
"Thank you," she thanked him.
The fact that he would let Arissa go the moment she rejects him was beautiful and she respects him for that.
Arissa might come to love him but she hopes it would not be late or better still, not be complicated, and with Arissa’s view on love, Collins’s relationship with her was something she would never bet on.
Changing the topic, she looked over to the suits, "The blue looks more handsome on you," she grinned at him and Collins’s face lit up with her reply.
He smiled as he stood up from the couch, feeling a bit okay. At least, he now has Jocelyn’s support.
"You have to be careful around her parents. We don’t know yet why you were invited even when you are not needed," she mentioned as he stood up.
Collins paused for a moment. She does have a point there. He was so lost with hopes of seeing Arissa that he forgot about potential dangers.
