His Toxic Addiction
Chapter 52: I’m in.

Chapter 52: I’m in.

Getting to the garage, Lucas parked the car and excited the scene. He could retire for today because Lady Boss is in the doors already and he has no stalking job to continue for the day.

Arissa was about to come down from the car after the driver but stopped when she saw Nicklaus still seated on his seat with his head resting and beads of sweat dripping from his face not minding the cool temperature inside the car.

She raised her hand to his face to take the lingering hair strand off and to feel his temperature but, "Don’t do what you are thinking Arissa," Nicklaus warned with his eyes still shut.

And immediately, Arissa withdrew her hand and sat down back on her seat, "Go inside," Nicklaus ordered her with his eyes still shut and the sweat on his face increasing.

Arissa turned to him. If someone told her this man was unwell back in the restaurant, she would never have believed it so now, what’s going on with this fever of his?

Is it somehow linked to her dream?

No Arissa! That was a blood scene and not a fever scene, Arissa shunned herself.

"Let’s go inside," she suggested clutching onto her mini black bag as she tried to keep her hand in place from touching his face.

Nicklaus hissed.

"Stop that," Arissa shunned his act of hissing whenever he found her words annoying. "We can at least go to the hospital, can’t we?"

"I don’t want to Arissa. Just fucking go inside and let me rest," Nicklaus objected.

Arissa took one last glance at him and opening the door, she walked away from the car as he said and straight to the house.

She wasn’t taking orders from him but right now, he’s highly annoying and she honestly can’t stand him any longer.

She has more pressing issues to do than talk him into visiting the hospital. Whereas, he leads multiple companies under him and makes decisions for them also. So, he was a grown-ass man who can make decisions himself.

With indifferent steps, she walked away from the garage, and further away, she was at the doorstep of the penthouse.

She turned back to the far away garage and sighted the car but there were still no plans of Nicklaus coming out of there.

’Just leave him there. He dies, you leave this marriage,’ her thought advised and Arissa’s brows lifted.

Was her mind always this fickle or was it because of her predicament right now?

She shut her eyes.

And with a deep breath, she took her hand off the doorbell and turned her feet back to the garage.

’His car collection is also classic,’ she thought taking a look around the place. An act she forgot while leaving the garage in anger.

Arissa walked through the rows of cars and halted in the car they just came back with. Taking a breath to keep her anger management in check, she opened the door where he was seated at.

"Hell," Nicklaus cursed when she opened the door without his slightest knowledge. Why can’t she just let him be?

She has been a pest to him even on their first meeting.

His lack of sleep causes issues like this and it’s no big deal to him. He just needs an hour of forced rest and he would be back to healthy again.

Arissa eyed him as he cursed and sat up straight about to close the door in her face, she put her hand into the car, "Stop cursing and let me help you," Arissa spat at him with venom irritated with the fact that he’s doing all of his possible best to send her off when he needs help.

Nicklaus eyed her and closed his eyes again.

"C’mon. I’d help you," she urged him seeing how weak he was as her anger melted to care.

Nicklaus bit her with his glare, and as if hyped, he came down from the car to her surprise, slammed the door hard, and walked away from her face.

His heart trembled with annoyance as he walked to the door with all strength.

Help?

Him? Help?

Was she a new person sent down to wipe him off his mentality with another help strategy?

.....

Collins’s eyes dropped as he replayed everything that played before him again. The paparazzi were gone but the urge to come out and let everyone know that the display of affection here a while ago was a loveless marriage was badly strong.

His eyes stung hearing a few of the restaurant clients gush about how they were a pair made from heaven. And his eyes tightened when the other remarked on Nicklaus’s gentleness with Arissa.

He looked at his phone screen and his heart shattered seeing he has not even gotten a text from her after an hour of leaving him here and in the company of her husband.

His heart was torn and bled from the possibility of her being pregnant. If she wasn’t, what was she doing to have a morning fever?

His breath hitched as he ran his hand through his hair in frustration. The feeling of betrayal ate him up and clouded his thinking.

He had always been the good boy but now, he wants to take the first step and watch Nicklaus’s expression on each step he would climb.

He calmed down with his excessive thoughts as he brought his phone out of his pocket.

Dialing a number, the call was answered in just a ring as if the person had been waiting for it.

"I’m in. I’m ready to take the first step," he announced hastily to the other end as his chest heaved knowing the consequences of his decisions.

The other end chuckled before replying, "Took you so long to make the right decision," he rewarded Collins and without a reply to this statement, Collins ended the call with a complex emotion passing through his eyes.

He just hopes that with this decision, everything would fall rightfully in place and he would be able to have Arissa again.
