His Toxic Addiction -
Chapter 43: Consummate your marriage.
Chapter 43: Consummate your marriage.
Arissa’s eyes moved from the provocative red nude lingerie set and back to Geal’s face. At times like this, she was usually grateful that Richard was a high part of her childhood and with that cause, she was able to stand naughtiness but this?
This was too much. How would he gift her something like this and urge her to open it before him and her... husband?
"What would I use this for?" she asked dryly facing Geal and at her question, Nicklaus blinked at her straightforwardness in the question while Geal smile eagerly as he was more than ready to enlighten her on kinds of stuff like this.
"From following Nicklaus’s schedules, I realized you both haven’t consummated your marriage yet_"
"That isn’t your business Geal," she cut him off as her face grimaced in an offense looking at the set of lingerie. He has no right to rub her unwanted marriage on her face. She picked up the box cover and proceed to cover it away from her sight.
"You have to leave now Geal," Nicklaus hissed at Geal looking at the gift box that Arissa closed with a fist of fury in her. In the few spilt seconds he spent with her from the moment he knew her, one thing he first noticed from her attitude was her sensitivity - just like when he rejected her, and now, Geal had just hit a sensitive spot talking about their marriage.
"Not now, " Geal answered Nicklaus with a smile.
The air in the dining room dropped as Nicklaus’s whole aura changed due to the rejection from Geal. Arissa turned to Nicklaus feeling the icy air from him and back to Geal, she said, "You have to leave Geal. It was nice meeting you,"
"Huh," Geal snapped his head to Arissa, surprised she allied with Nicklaus.
After admiring themselves like he wasn’t here, they are now being supportive of each other without watching out for his feelings.
Tsk! So bad of them.
"I thought you were about to leave," Geal reminded Nicklaus like he did not hear Arissa and Nicklaus’s expression flattened in seconds.
"I’m sorry if you do not like the gift." he apologized softly to Arissa genuinely - or let’s say masked genuinely.
Arissa nodded her head at him and gently kept the box beside her, "Thank you," she appreciated to both Geal and Nicklaus’s surprise.
"We are not in an actual marriage so, there is no need for anything_ "
"I only wanted to hold my niece and nephews earlier," Geal cut her off her words with a feigned sad expression as he was enjoying each second of Nicklaus’s annoyed look.
Arissa swallowed with difficulty as she frowned at his bluntness. She turned to Nicklaus with an eye saying ’Seriously, is he your friend,’
Nicklaus met her eyes and blinked slightly in disapproval.
Geal smiled as he looked like one who just won a trophy, "You both are a perfect match," he trailed off as he looked into the living room through the glass sliding door of the dining, "So, it would be a blessed sight to see the mini version of you both running through the house and_"
"Stop it." Arissa snarled at him as her fingers trembled on her lap. Her chest heaved as if she was about to puke.
And with almost trembling steps due to her raising anger, she found her way to the door and left the dining without eating her meal.
"Are you satisfied?" Nicklaus asked Geal coldly as he tore his eyes off the door she just walked out from and fixed his tearing gaze on Geal.
"Huh?" Geal asked as he also tore his eyes off the door waking up from his surprise due to her sudden reaction.
"What?" Geal asked becoming uncomfortable with Nicklaus’s silent cold glare. "To be frank, I did not notice I went overboard,"
Nicklaus sighed and took a sip of his coffee, "I just wanted to have a calm breakfast with her but what did you do? You showed up and destroyed it, teasing here and there mistaking the fact she isn’t me," he lashed out at Geal who just sat there staring at Nicklaus without his usual smile.
"Remember you were about to leave," Geal reminded him as he stared at the gift she decided not to pick up.
Nicklaus calmed down a bit as he followed Geal’s sight and his eyes also landed on the gift, "She loved the bracelet," he said calmly remembering the smile on her lips when she saw the bracelet.
"Our marriage isn’t up to a month and for the fact that it isn’t out of feelings, you have to understand that she ought to be that way although she doesn’t mean it," Nicklaus put up words as he apologized for Arissa’s earlier snap out.
Geal arched a brow at him as he started at Nicklaus with wide eyes as if he no longer recognize him. This was the first time Nicklaus cared about someone to the point of putting in for the person.
"Do you care about her?" Geal blurred his thoughts out as he watched Nicklaus waiting for a reply.
Nicklaus’s brows tightened, "Was I supposed not to care?"
"Quite responding to my question with questions. Do you care about her?" he asked again as he straightened his back on his seat.
"She’s my wife. It’s only natural I do,"
Geal’s lips curled up with entertainment at Nicklaus’s response. Nicklaus’s eyes tightened, "What?"
"Nothing," Geal responded playfully, "Did she just agree per the benefits for her family?" he asked, his emotions now serious.
"My mother said she agreed willingly," Nicklaus said thoughtfully as he looked at Geal, "Do you feel there is an inner threat?" he asked Geal.
Being a CEO of the entertainment industry and his carefree attitude, Nicklaus believes him whenever it comes to people’s emotions because he interacts a lot with people and this has saved Nicklaus a few times in disguise.
So now, he might need his help dealing with his complicated wife.
"I do, but you would need to ask her that yourself," Geal affirmed with a shrug.
