His Toxic Addiction -
Chapter 35: Babysitter
Chapter 35: Babysitter
On the top floor of an exclusive hotel, two men were seated quietly in a very luxurious private room. One slowly sipping his wine staring down at the city below like a mighty king and the other shipping through his phone with an unhappy expression all over his face.
The former swiping through his phone was Geal - the CEO of the top entertainment company signing endorsement deals with all A-listers.
"You have been acting off lately," Geal complained as he straightened up in his seat, discarding his phone on the small coffee table beside his seat, and picked up the glass of whiskey on the seat.
Nicklaus straightened his legs, "On?"
"Why did you not pick any of the ladies I sent in for you?" Geal asked as he drank from the glass in small a portion.
"I just got married," Nicklaus deadpanned with a puff.
*Cough* Geal splatters all of his whiskey in his mouth harshly along with a cough and immediately, he patted his chest to calm down also cleaning his suit shirt in the process.
"Is this some kind of joke?" Geal’s whole attention was now on Nicklaus as he dropped his glass back on the small table and leaned on his chair as if Nicklaus coming expression was a precious scene he can’t afford to miss.
"Do I look like a joke to you?" Nicklaus asked and Geal used everything in him not to clap his both hands due to excitement. Finally, the always calm and collected Nicklaus gave him an expression beside an aloof and nonchalant look.
And that is the thing - Geal thought. Nicklaus isn’t one with the luxurious time to joke around so he never does that and is always straight to the point but this.. this, better be a joke.
"Wow! So, what kind of lovely queen agreed to get married to this non-fun and iced gloomy individual?" he asked with an innocent voice as if he was just a curious bird as his mood on the news suddenly changed to happiness.
Nicklaus gave him a tight side glare which Geal captured right away
A naughty smirk covered Geal’s lips as he rubbed his forehead, "Wow, she must have gotten you wrapped around her fingers already or maybe, you are just afraid of her," Geal guessed happily.
Nicklaus turned to him as he pinned Geal down with an unimpressed and bored expression.
"Knowing you, I would just pick the former. You are scared of no one after all," Geal finalized with a happy smirk on his face as he gave Nicklaus an innocent look.
Nicklaus sat up immediately and his broad expression turned serious, "You say trash Geal,"
"Oh really?" Geal asked as if in thought, "Knowing you, you are always calm and collected even with big blows so, why are you so aggravated if am saying trash?"
Nicklaus’s expression turned unpleasing and it was a very big sign for his big-mouthed friend of his to stop speaking but as usual, Geal was just there to push him to the edge.
Geal went on, relishing the satisfaction from Nicklaus’s annoyed look. "Honestly, I like... Like? No, I love that wife of yours already. The fact that she can warrant an emotion of that ice face of yours is a good top-up point,"
"Shut up," Nicklaus warned. Listening to Geal ranting about love is like taking death pills on second bases. And the funny thing is that the so-called ambassador of love hasn’t even experienced it himself.
"Gosh, you are so not fun to be with," Geal complained, "I pity my pretty damsel already_"
"She isn’t your pretty damsel," Nicklaus cut him off with a correction to his word choice.
"Oh. Am sorry," Geal apologized with a misleading genuine look, "Claiming possession already," Geal added almost immediately in a murmur but made it loud enough to Nicklaus’s hearing.
Nicklaus simply rolled his eyes at Geal’s crazy assumptions and with a sigh, he turned back to the window with his rolling seat.
"Can I come to visit tomorrow?"
"No," Nicklaus cut him off again before turning to him with a glare. What the hell is wrong with this friend of his tonight?
"Oh sorry. My bad," he scolded himself, "I wasn’t supposed to ask. I have come to your house a thousand times, with or without your permission,"
Nicklaus raised his brow at Geal’s sermon, "Do not come close to my house if you do not want to run back home with nothing in between your legs to please the pussies any longer," Nicklaus threatened.
Geal feigned a shocked expression, "What changed?" he asked.
"You talk too much," he deadpanned without looking at Geal’s face.
Geal frowned hearing that from Nicklaus, he loves the act of teasing Nicklaus, but talking? Hell no he was not talkative.
"I guess my damsel is dying from your infectious boardum already," Geal said with a shake of his head as if feeling pity for Nicklaus’s wife who is now his new ’pretty damsel’
Nicklaus passed Geal a warning glance.
"What?" Geal asked as if he does not know the reason he was cast such a look.
"Do not call her your damsel any longer," he warned with an authorized voice and a stotic face.
Geal laughed seeing Nicklaus’s funny look. His expression is deadly right now but to Geal, he would say that this is the funniest expression he has come over since the beginning of the week, "Okay, here is the deal. You grab some p*ssies, and I stop calling her my damsel," Geal bargained with a smirk.
"Go to hell," Nicklaus caused and this earned another filled laughter from Geal.
"See, you are wrapped around her fingers already,"
Nicklaus hissed at the laughing Geal before standing up from his seat.
"Where are you going?" Geal’s laughter suddenly died down as Nicklaus stood up from his seat and started fixing his tie.
"Going home,"
"Hey, why? We just got here," Geal panicked like a kid about to be dumped by his babysitter.
Nicklaus looked at his phone one more time as if confirming something, "Gather all the ladies into this room if you want. I have to leave now," he said with a tune of urgency.
Hearing the urgency in his tune, Geal said nothing more as he thought the urgency was about business - if only he knew that the urgency was about the fact that his mother just texted him about his wife helping at dinner, he - Geal would have wept for the loss of his best friend.
"I think you should get married too," Nicklaus advised at the door, and before Geal would reply to him, he was already gone.
But that did not stop Geal from yelling after him, "We face everything together but not this one buddy."
