Chapter 246: Who Would You End This With?
Arissa snuggled more into Nicklaus’s arms like a cat seeking comfort from its master. Nicklaus protectively wrapped her in with sweet rubs on her arm.
"How do you feel?" he questioned, staring down at her bandaged head. He wants to know if he should call Mr. Williams or not.
"I’m okay. I meant I wasn’t but I am now you’re here with me," she answered honestly.
Nicklaus chuckled. Her reply sounded so cute and completely cut off every layers of crust he had, "I go nowhere, I’d always be here with you and for you alone," he promised her with his words holding deeper meaning which includes the divorce.
Arissa raised her face and stared into his eyes. She was tempered to ask if he would leave when the time for the divorce comes.
"You want to say something," he noticed, and Arissa bit her tongue from embarrassment. She was an open book to him, the way he reads her without stress was beautiful and at the same time annoying considering the fact he hardly shows all of his emotions.
Even right now, she can’t entirely tell what he was thinking or how he felt but he might be able to tell hers without pondering much. Well, she loves this and anymore thing he would do with her.
She nodded to his words. "I want to know_"
A knock came on the door, distracting the couple on the bed. Nicklaus guessed it would be Rue and since he doesn’t use keys on his door, he had to get the door himself.
When he opened the door, Rue passed the tray over to him with a slight bow, "I hope she’s okay," there was concern in her voice.
"She’s good," and that was when Nicklaus saw the cat by Rue’s leg side. "Why are you with Blu. isn’t she supposed to be asleep?"
Rue looked at the poor cat, "She is but she refused to. She misses Arissa,"
And true to her words, the cat did miss Arissa because it won’t stop trying to see inside the room to know if Arissa was in there.
Nicklaus looked at the cat on the floor and with cold eyes, he ordered, "Take her away, Arissa needs to rest,"
A minute with the cat won’t kill Arissa but Nicklaus won’t let this cat see Arissa tonight. This was his payback for what the cat did to him the other night.
The cat took all of Arissa’s attention away that night and he guess its now his turn. He doesn’t hate the cat but his revenge counts.
Arissa might not have his time again if Blu. walked in and he doesn’t want to feel neglected. So, the cat should go.
As if seeing what Nicklaus had in mind, Blu. looked up at him with blurry eyes as if pleading to be let in.
"Take her back to bed," Nicklaus ordered Rue before he seamlessly closed the door in their faces. It took everything in him not to stick out his tongue and laugh at that cat. He won’t let the cat spoil his night with his wife again.
Nicklaus walked back into the room with the tray of meals in his hold.
"I said am not hungry," Arissa protested even before he would walk away from the door. For now, she doesn’t want anything in her stomach, it’s past midnight.
Nicklaus acted deaf. He claimed on the bed, sat before her with the tray, and stared deep into her eyes.
He searched her eyes, "Why aren’t you hungry?"
Arissa released a deep breath, "I’m tired,"
Nicklaus shot a brow at her, "All the more reasons why you should eat," he told her and started opening the dishes.
"I_"
Nicklaus cut her off, "Don’t worry, I would feed you every bite of this,"
Arissa’s face dropped, "Feed me?"
"I would. Anything wrong with that?"
Arissa shrugged her shoulders, "You don’t look like someone who would know how to feed a person," she let out her thoughts.
Nicklaus chuckled, "It doesn’t change anything. I’d start with you,"
Arissa’s lips turned into a pout, "Start with me? And who do you want to end this with?" the questions left her lips before she would stop them.
She slammed her lips shut and bit her inner lips lower gum. Nicklaus stiffened at her words, he dropped the plate lids in his hand and stared into her eyes.
He reached for the back of her head. He pulled her in and hungrily slammed his lips on her.
Arissa froze in the kiss. Seems like the few hours of unconsciousness sized her brain. This wasn’t the reply she wanted and she never meant those words. They left her lips on their own accord.
Nicklaus pulled away from the kiss. He kept it brief as she was just waking up and he doesn’t want to stress her further.
Not saying another word, he brought the fork filled with food close to her lips. Arissa sealed her lips still surprised by the kiss.
Nicklaus smiled at her, "Ahh," he played with her.
Arissa turned red and with no pretense, she smiled wildly, showing her straight sets of white teeth.
She can’t believe this was the man she refused to get married to. In all ramifications, he’s too good for her.
"Ahhhh," Nicklaus brought her back to himself, opening his mouth wide for her to do the same.
An idea came into Arissa’s mind and before Nicklaus would see it coming, she put the grilled chicken into his mouth.
Nicklaus laughed. He dropped the fork and took the chicken out of his mouth, "You’re becoming naughty. This is your meal and not mine,"
Arissa placed a glass close to his lips, "And since it’s my meal, I decide who I share it with. I want to share it with you," she cleaned the chicken spice off his lips, "Here," she placed the glass of water under his lips.
Nicklaus took a sip from the water directly from her hand. Arissa beamed when he did that.
She dropped the glass back on the tray and winked at him. "So, here’s the deal. I’d eat only if you join me,"
Nicklaus smiled fully with gladness in his heart, "You need the food more," he countered but regardless of that, he ate a spoon out of the meal and Arissa’s appetite returned.
Arissa opened her mouth and accepted the fork into her mouth this time around and with many smiles, she managed to eat.
And then she refused to open her mouth.
"Here, this is the last bite," Nicklaus coaxed Arissa to open her mouth for the last bite of the meal on the plate.
Arissa threw her face away, "I can’t, Nick. I’m filled," she even refused to look at him.
Nicklaus smiled. Her aura this morning was so cute for him to take all of it. He pushed the tray away, "You can look at me now, the tray is gone,"
