Chapter 203: Live In The Moment.

Arissa turned confused.

While Rue denied being pregnant, Lyra bashed the woman’s claims. It sounded like something she would do and Rue would never do that.

Also, Lyra kept on smiling at her solely as the guards have done while passing by. Everyone in the house acted strange.

Anyway, she stretched out a congratulatory handshake to Rue. Rue stared at the outstretched hand before looking at Mrs. Wyatt and back at Arissa.

"What would we name the baby, Mrs. Wyatt?" Lyra asked just before Arissa’s outstretched hand would be received by Rue.

Arissa frowned at the question. Everything seems to be pointing a finger at her. "It’s Rue’s baby, you should ask her that," she told them while she fixed her eyes on Mrs. Wyatt.

Mrs. Wyatt looked away from Arissa before nodding toward Rue and Lyra to leave them. They beamed at the two mistresses of the house before leaving their presence with the bags.

Mrs. Wyatt smiled at Arissa and a look of understanding was shared between the duo. The emotions in Mrs. Wyatt’s eyes explained it all to Arissa.

Arissa took in a deep breath. "You shouldn’t have done those," she said softly, "Nicklaus wouldn’t appreciate it and I, to be honest, don’t."

Mrs. Wyatt nodded in agreement. She deduced that already. The fact that both of them wouldn’t appreciate her effort of bringing a new body into the fold should not surprise her. Regardless, she knew she have to try.

She have seen them making out which left her marveled. Now, since they no longer despise themselves so much and could now be all touchy, she just has to add her effort.

Difficult or not, she must make it work. Just a little more compelling baby materials, Mrs. Wyatt was sure she would be able to make them feel positive and down with a baby fever.

Children have lots of superpowers and one of those superpowers includes binding parents together. Nicklaus might be overly strict and domineering but he would never be abusive to a lady.

They just needed a little time.

She doubt two years would be enough for them to come to terms with themselves. Left for her alone, this marriage wouldn’t have happened but since Nicklaus had accepted it, together with his father, she had no other choice than to let the majority win but now she wants to win in whatever way.

Nicklaus’s childhood was difficult. The trauma was still there. They linger around. No one needs to tell her this.

From what she has learned and known about Nicklaus, children, and a wife would never be included on his list to do. Her husband doesn’t care about grandchildren. She wasn’t her husband, she want a little version of both of them.

Even if it’s just one.

They could leave the child with her, she would take care of the baby if, they would proceed with the divorce and don’t want the child.

"We haven’t even spoken about having a baby." Arissa went on, pulling Mrs. Wyatt off her train of thought.

Mrs. Wyatt smiled at her. "That doesn’t mean you both won’t speak about it in the future," she placed her palm on Arissa’s arm that cradled Blu.

"I’m not trying to force you into anything nor am I asking you to give me a grandchild. It’s all up to you and if you ask me I won’t advise you to waste two years of your life in regret and denial."

Arissa swallowed softly at Mrs. Wyatt’s words.

Mrs. Wyatt’s eyes softened. "Yes, your parents gave you out forcefully. Nicklaus explained it all to me and about your sister, I’m so sorry about all that happened to her," she rubbed Arissa’s arm, "They did all of those without getting immediate justice doesn’t mean they won’t get the justice they deserve."

She paused.

"Do you have a lover?" she asked Arissa after a split-second pause.

Arissa stared into the older woman’s eyes. "I don’t."

Arissa’s dating history had always been a waste of time. Her longest dating history was just a week old and to that guy, she can’t still recall why they broke up.

A time came when she began questioning her sexual preference. She had felt weird all her life when it comes to relationships and stuff like that and that was the reason she shied away from sex until she spent her first night with Nicklaus.

When Collins confessed to her, she felt sad and happy at the same time. Sad she would never be able to reciprocate and happy he told her after her marriage.

Who knows, if he had said it earlier, she might have toyed with him like the rest and then, end up ruining their friendship.

Back to the question at hand, she added, "But I can’t plan a future with Nicklaus,"

Mrs. Wyatt stepped closer to her, "I know you can’t. He has so many flaws, he isn’t perfect and would never be. I’m not persuading you to rethink your words but I hope you live in the moment and allow the future to sort itself out,"

With a tiptoe, she kissed the crown of Arissa’s head. With all acceptance, Arissa shut her eyes to the feeling.

Mrs. Wyatt backed away. Cupping both sides of Arissa’s face, she added, "I would love you to be the daughter I never brought into the world," she confided with a smile.

Arissa bit her inner lip as she let Mrs. Wyatt’s words sink in. Mrs. Wyatt sounded genuine and not one-sided which made her heart beat fast. All alone for this woman.

A deep exhale, she promised. "I can’t promise to prolong our relationship when the contract expires, I can only promise to live in the moment. I’d try to and I pray you won’t expect a hundred percent perfection from me,"

Mrs. Wyatt smiled, "It’s okay." she accepted as she had seen that coming. "Don’t just live, live happily and let everything other things fall into their rightful position,"

Arissa smiled.

Mrs. Wyatt’s words soothe her heart so well. She doubts her mother would ever be able to make her feel this way.

"I think you have a new room to set up," she informed Mrs. Wyatt.

Mrs. Wyatt chuckled, "Would you be joining me?"

Arissa contemplated for a second. "I would," she looked at Blu. "Thank you so much for staying with Blu."

"It’s nothing," Mrs. Wyatt shrugged before holding Arissa’s hand so that they would walk hand in hand. "Diego informed me you went to the company,"

Arissa just nodded. She doesn’t want to talk about that.
