His Toxic Addiction
Chapter 198: Self-Defense.

Chapter 198: Self-Defense.

Arissa had a shocked expression on her face after detecting his tune. He sounded jealous but she dare not think about that.

It might be the wine working.

Nicklaus regretted why he agreed to pick that wine. He knew the wine was alcoholic but he never expected her to get drunk this fast.

’Or could it be she isn’t drunk and is only reminiscing our first meeting?’ he thought.

’But still, she should only think about me. I want no man obstructing me from her mind,’

He placed his butt back on his seat. "So what exactly do you want to ask me?" he changed the topic to take them off their first meeting.

Arissa rubbed her forehead before tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. Her flushed face cuteness made Nickkaus smile.

She is such a beauty and Nicklaus saw it right when she walked through that door on that night. It was from that day his whole emotional history changed and that was why he almost don’t want to ever talk about that night.

Arissa stared at him. "How was your childhood?"

Nicklaus scoffed." Nothing fun," this wasn’t the question he expected.

Arissa’s mouth formed an ’oh’

"Isn’t there something you love from your childhood." she pressed on. She refused to believe he stayed with Mrs. Wyatt and had no fun.

Nicklaus did not reply to that. Arissa took it as a signal to skip that question. Licking her lower lip, she contemplated the next question.

"What would make you hate a person?"

Due to how personal the question sounded, Nicklaus’s stared at her, deep into her soul, trying to understand her connection to such a question.

Arissa grew nervous with those intense sharp gazes on her. She took another gulp from her glass as a means of distraction.

Not wandering his gaze away from her eyes, he refilled his glass before replying. "Lies and Pretense. Death would be a better option than watching or listening to you do these two things to me,"

"Why are you so hard on yourself?"

"It’s just me being me. Do none of these two things, we’re good. Even if we don’t talk to each other,"

Arissa gulped. She knew she was becoming lightheaded but she still felt as if those words were directed to her, as if he was warning her.

Clearing her head, she finished her glass before stretching the glass over to him, "More please,"

Standing up, he walked over to her." Would you be the only one questioning?"

Seeing him walk toward her with such an intimidating aura, the glass she was holding trembled. "No," she swallowed.

Nicklaus smirked and with all pleasure, he refilled her glass. Arissa drank from it the moment he was done so she could take her eyes off him without looking timid or being scored the first to look away.

Nicklaus sat beside her. Arissa swallowed when her butterflies rejoiced inside her. With a heavily blushed face, she tried to create space between them but Nicklaus held her still by wrapping his arm around her waist.

"Nick...."

Nicklaus loved this side of her. All flushed and obedient. Pulling her close to himself, he brought his nose to her earlobe and took in her drunk scent.

She trembled in his arms when his breath fanned her neck. "Does this turn you on?"

She kept silent.

Nicklaus placed a kiss on the spot his breath fanned, "You have to answer, Love. It is my question for you." his voice was sensually low.

Arissa inhaled at the kiss and he felt himself get hard just by her sharp inhale. He was supposed to get intoxicated by the wine in his glass but she was his intoxication.

The wine he held did nothing to help him. He has to drink the wine heavily to get intoxicated but just by her presence, he would be highly intoxicated.

A strong feeling to kiss her lips rushed into Nicklaus and without wasting a second, he leaned in to seize her lips.

Arissa’s eyes widened.

Her body reacted so well to just a touch from him and if a kiss should be added, she was sure of their clothes being on the floor in the next second.

Hesitating for a moment, she picked up a line of distraction. "What is your body count?"

"Huh?" Nicklaus paused, "My body count?" he repeated starting at her lips before meeting her eyes.

Arissa nodded. "Yes, your body count."

"I can’t tell," he answered honestly before leaning away from her and seating straight, "I’ve been with two handfuls of ladies, and most of them, I forget their existence after our first night,"

Arissa couldn’t explain it but a slight frown twisted her face at the thought of seeing Nicklaus with other women.

Out of drunk instincts, she pulled him in and kissed him. She want to engrave it into his mind with the kiss that she was his wife. His only wife.

Nicklaus kissed her back. In seconds, she was laid down on the couch with him towering above her. With her little rationality left, she parted the kiss after a few seconds.

Nicklaus breathed heavily on her face. "I think it’s enough alcohol."

"No," Arissa countered stubbornly before pushing him off her from his chest. "There are so many questions I still want to ask,"

"I’m all ears,"

With a sigh filled with relief, Arissa smiled at him, and in one go, she finished her glass. "More," she requested.

Nicklaus raised a cautioned brow at her. She was already drunk. That sudden kiss was already enough evidence.

However, he added a little more to her glass. Before going back to his previous settee as he has to keep his hands to himself.

"Why did _"

"My turn," Nicklaus cut her off, "Why did you walk down to me at the club?" he don’t want to talk about that night but ever since he found out she was his wife, the question had been at the back of his mind.

Arissa raised a brow at him. "Because you are good-looking," she answered in a matter-of-fact tone.

"Good looking? Just that?" his voice sounded like one confident of getting more marks.

Arissa smiled with a low blush, "Just that," she convinced him, more like convincing herself.

When she found out he was her husband, she assumed fate brought them together at the club. But she possibly couldn’t say that to him. He might think of her as crazy.

Nicklaus drank straight from the wine bottle, maintaining their eye contact without blinking, it was visible in his eyes he never believed her.

"What is your favorite position in bed?"

Arissa choked on her wine, "My favorite position in....what?"

"Bed," Nicklaus repeated shamelessly.

Arissa’s eyes were dazed. "My favorite position in bed?"

"Yes, Love, do tell me,"

Arissa coughed, she shied away from him and started at her feet. "I love...I mean, don’t take my reply seriously but I do love all...." she cut herself off.

"Love?"

Arissa looked up at him with a puzzled expression. And why did he decide to give me a nickname? She thought trying to distract herself from the question at hand.

They held each other eyes and with patience steps, Nicklaus stood before her. "Give me a reply," he ordered.

He stared into her eyes with an overly domineering eye that released flames of lust. Arissa did not dare to blink as she held his eyes.

"I answered, remember?" she stammered looking down at her toes again as she felt her core drip.

Nicklaus used his index finger to lift her face, forcing her to look at him. "And I have reasons to believe that answer was inaccurate. Or is Lil. Naughty Pumpkin shy to give a reply?"

"I said I...I love.."

"Shuu, Love, that was an impulsive answer," he brushed her chin with his thumb, "Now think for a moment and give me an honest reply,"

Arissa parted her lips and closed it again. Parting them again, she drew in a sharp breath. "The last time we had sex..." she shut her eyes and let the alcohol speak, "We had so many positive but...but I love it the most when you," she opened her eyes and took his fingers off her chin, "When you slammed my back on the wall, went in and out of me so viciously until my legs trembled," she ended her confession when a heavy exhale.

Nicklaus’s lips curled up into a wicked smirk, "Is that why you are so hell-bent I spread your legs tonight?" he went on bending to her eye level.

Arissa cleared her throat to reduce the sexual tension between them. "Next question..."

"Answer the question, Arissa..."

Her face turned so red. Backing away from him, she smiled at him with drunk humor, "What is your greatest emotional weapon?"

Nicklaus laughed. He stepped away from her to let her off the hook. If he goes further with the question, they might have sex here.

He came across the flushing pills in her room the night he came back. He don’t want to give her another reason to take those so, he just backed away from the question and sat beside her.

"Self Defense,"

Arissa hummed, she drooped her empty glass beside her. "What would you say to me if you let down your defense around me?"

A thousand feelings rushed through Nicklaus. Making it worst, Arissa drunkenly dropped her head on his shoulder which made his heart skip a beat.

"A thousand things," Nicklaus owned up. "And I can’t say it all,"

Arissa pouted. Her arms wrapped around his neck as she made herself comfortable on him. "Let one out," she said in a sleepy voice.

Nicklaus took in a deep breath. There are high chances she won’t remember most of what they would talk about so, he decided to risk it.

Whereas, until this second she doesn’t remember her words when she got drunk in the living room. So he would be ninety percent safe telling her words from his inside.

With a deep breath, "I like you," he started, "If I’m to let my walls down and say something honest to you, I’d only have these three words to say."

"I_" he was abruptly cut off when he heard soft snores from her. Tilting his head sideways, he realized she was fast asleep.

And his racing heart calmed down.
