His Toxic Addiction -
Chapter 118: ...Hubby.
Chapter 118: ...Hubby.
"Good morning," Nicklaus greeted the beautiful figure with a thick voice as he stared at her back, his eyes scanning her appearance.
She was still on his shirt with a messy bun and Nicklaus was sure that with this sight, his whole day would be stress relieved.
Arissa dropped the files on her lampstand before turning over to the sinfully hot figure in a room with her.
Smiling, she walked over to him, and before confused Nicklaus would understand what her smile stands for or why she was moving to him with such haste, she squatted to his seating level and sealed his lips with her lips.
Nicklaus was stunned by the kiss, non of his muscles moved as he just sat frozen as she kissed him. Slowly, Arissa pulled away and stared into his eyes.
"Thank you, ...Hubby," she said looking into his eyes.
Nicklaus swallowed with disbelief. Did she just call him Hubby? His eyes darted between her eyes and his frozen muscles turned heavy as he was unable to even shift a little.
He was unbelievably stunned.
Arissa leaned in again and kissed him by the side of his lips, "Thank you so much," she whispered into his ear and the frozen man got more stunned.
His veins showed from his neck as he fought the excitement in him when she heard her calling him hubby. It was too good to be true and at the same time, he tried not to be happy as he tried to figure out why he was so happy with just a title.
Seeing him so frozen with wide eyes, Arissa smiled at him once again before standing straight. Walking towards her vanity table, her hands clenched on the table as she tried to support herself.
Her eyes were wet and she was close to tears. Not able to hold it in anymore, she let the tears of happiness flow out.
Nicklaus was snapped back to reality when he saw her shoulders tremble. Not needing to guess, he realized she was in tears.
He painted and hastily, he stood up from the floor and walked towards her. From behind her, he watched as she dropped her tears on the vanity table with her face lowered.
He hasn’t recovered from her previous kiss and smile, but she was already starting to cry. What happened to her?
"Did I do something wrong?" Nicklaus asked, placing his palms on her trembling shoulders in confusion and caution.
Arissa’s shoulders jolted when the unexpected palms landed on her shoulders. She did not realize his presence until he dropped his palm on her shoulders and rubbed on them.
Raising her palm to her face, she used the back to wipe her eyes dry before turning around to face Nicklaus, "You did something," she sniffed with a red nose.
"What?" Nicklaus asked and Arissa chuckled at his panic. Now, she was beginning to realize that she had been hard all these while to a good person.
Nicklaus turned confused when he heard her amused chuckle,
"Arissa_"
"Nick," she cut him off before placing her thumb on his juicy lips, "Thank you for breaking my restriction," she thanked him genuinely and placed her thumb into his mouth.
She had never imagined being free to travel this early. Left for her alone, she expected to be able to travel in the next five years because gathering fifty million dollars is no joke, and even if she does, she would be expected to have at least an estimated amount of thirty million dollars for more external papers.
Yet, without lifting a finger, she has gotten back her freedom to travel in a platter of gold with no sweat and all of the papers are complete.
Nicklaus’s heart leaped in excitement as his panicked expression vanished upon hearing her reason for crying.
Though he was mad when he found out she was keeping something as threatening as this away from him, he calmed down when he remembered that aren’t so close to the point she would share her problem with him, and on that, she was a tough nut to crack.
Her excitement was too much for him to take. He had expected an indifferent emotion from her but she ended up surprising him even to the point of calling him.... Hubby.
God, that sounds so breathtaking coming from her, Nicklaus thought. He wanted to hear more.
"You don’t have to thank me," Nicklaus said in a deep velvety voice before licking her thumb and this caused a spark in Arissa’s lower abdomen.
Arissa’s eyes widened, "You weren’t the one who broke my restriction?" she asked in surprise as she withdrew her hand from his lips.
’Did I just call him Hubby for a waste?’ she thought.
Nicklaus’s jaw dropped when he felt her defense back on again. Why does he have to ruin this moment?
"I broke your restrictions," he said staring deep into her eyes. Arissa nodded in understanding as she waited for him to explain the phrase, "You don’t have to thank me,"
"I mean," he trailed off as he took his eyes off her eyes and looked at her ears instead, "You don’t have to thank me, I mean... you should.... just call me Hubby one more time, it sounds better than the thanks," he explained with a reddened face as he dodged her eyes.
Arissa was speechless.
Crackle erupted from her chest seeing how red his face was. Not able to hold back, she cracked up with tears in her eyes and Nicklaus’s whole ear turned bloodshot red.
"You want me to call you Hubby?" she asked through her laughter, "That was why you did this?"
"No," Nicklaus replied immediately as he fervently shook his head. He doesn’t want her to get the wrong message about why he broke her restrictions.
He did this to make her happy and not for her to call him Hubby. Though it would hurt him, she can decide not to call him Hubby and just thank him. Shrugging his shoulders, he lied to himself that her thanks would be enough to fill up the anticipated void in his chest.
"You don’t want me to call you Hubby?" Arissa teased him further as she tilted her head in an innocent expression to meet his eyes.
Nicklaus nodded, "I want you to call me Hubby," he agreed, still avoiding her eyes.
This was all too much for him but his urge to hear her call him with that title again was greater than his ego.
