’Damn. Vladimir beats me. He made him talk easily!’ Lanny pouted her lips at that thought.

"Bro, you are always impatient, always resorting to violence." Lanny tapped Vladimir’s shoulder, signaling him to let go of the man.

Vladimir just scoffed before releasing him. "I want to kill him for hurting Athena."

"You better tell us the truth, otherwise, this man won’t spare you," Lanny warned him.

The threat finally worked since he was afraid of Vladimir’s violent behavior. He didn’t want to die.

"Yes. I will tell you the truth."

"Good. So now, tell us. Who paid you to cause the accident in the set?" Lanny asked, looking so serious.

"Miss Melody Williams!" He replied, hoping to save his ass by giving Melody’s name away. His life was more valuable than his loyalty to Melody.

"Who is that bitch?" Vladimir’s eyes set ablaze when the mastermind was finally revealed.

Lanny, on the other hand, was not surprised to hear Melody’s name. She had a bad encounter with Athena and Lanny. She threatened Athena to be removed from the W Diamond Group Product Launch. But it looked like her father didn’t heed her request.

"Hmm. So she resorted to this to get even with us." Lanny mumbled, grinning widely.

’I’m glad this woman is so stupid. She is too reckless. Her actions will lead to her doom.’ Lanny’s eyes sparkled in satisfaction. She could already imagine Melody’s downfall.

"Bro, come with me," Lanny gestured for Vladimir to follow her.

With a grim expression on his face, Vladimir could only comply with her. The siblings left Melody’s accomplice in the torture room as they headed to Vladimir’s office.

"Why did you ask me here? I’m not done with him yet." Vladimir’s irritation could be heard in his voice.

Lanny smirked at him, gently patting his shoulder. "Come down, Vlad. You shouldn’t harm that guy. He will be our Alas... our secret weapon. He will play a great role in Athena’s revenge."

Vladimir frowned. "What do you mean? And who the hell is this Melody?"

"Fine. I’ll tell you something but in exchange, you have to promise me that you won’t make a move against Melody Williams without Athena’s consent."

Feeling a bit reluctant, Vladimir just nodded in response.

"Athena’s revenge has something to do with Melody Williams... Or rather with the Williams Family," she revealed to Vladimir.

Vladimir was taken aback for a moment. He just recalled that Enzo was part of the Williams Family.

"So... are you both using Enzo Williams too for her revenge?" Vladimir asked her expectantly.

Lanny arched her eyebrow when she saw Vladimir’s twinkling eyes at the mention of Enzo’s name. He thought Enzo was part of Athena’s revenge so he felt somehow happy about it. There was no reason for him to get jealous of that guy.

"Hey, don’t rejoice. Enzo is not part of Athena’s revenge. He is important to her. So if you like Athena, you should start treating Enzo well." Lanny somehow gave her brother a clue.

Vladimir’s expression changed instantly when he heard that. He was so confused. "But Enzo is part of the Williams Family."

"Hmm, I’m not giving you more clues. Just wait for Athena to confide with you. If she is ready, she will talk about it. Besides, both of us can finally trust you completely."

Vladimir was rendered speechless. Deep inside, he felt glad that Lanny and Athena were both putting their trust in him.

"Fine. I will ask Athena myself. So what are we going to do with that guy?" Vladimir was referring to Melody’s accomplice. "Aren’t you going to teach that Bitch a lesson? If I were you, I would punish her now."

Lanny flashed a sly grin. "Patience, Vlad. Timing is key. Athena and I will strike when they least anticipate it, giving them a blast!"

"For now, just stay here. I will be the one to negotiate with our hostage. I will convince him to change his side. Besides, revealing Melody’s name to us means he is already betraying her. You are not allowed to beat him. Understand?"

Vladimir shook his head helplessly. He hated the fact Lanny was protecting that guy from him. "Lanny, you are still a softie. If you want our father to acknowledge you, you must become ruthless. You still have a lot to learn." Vladimir gave his sister a piece of advice.

Lanny giggled cheerfully, surprised at her brother’s words. "Are you letting me win, Bro? Do you want our father to acknowledge me as his successor?"

Vladimir scowled at her. "In your dreams. You know that Miguel Ivankov is so hard to please. That tyrant old man is unpredictable. He has a high expectation for everyone."

Lanny had to agree with his last statement. "So true. But one thing is for sure. We can’t let our enemy steal our succession’s right. We still haven’t figured out who tried to kill me before. We must join forces!"

"Hmm. We are already a team. You, Athena, and me." Vladimir stated matter-of-factly.

Lanny let out a soft chuckle. Vladimir truly included his name as part of Athena’s team. ’My brother is madly in love with Athena. Sigh, I wonder if he’ll have the courage to defy our father if he tries to arrange a marriage with someone else.’

"Alright. We are indeed a team. So you have to behave, otherwise, Athena and I might kick you out," She teased him.

Vladimir just glared at his sister. "Stop threatening me. Fine. I’m not beating that guy anymore."

After talking to her brother, Lanny returned to the torture room.

"What is your name?"

"I’m Allan..." He replied anxiously. He somehow felt relieved when he didn’t see Vladimir.

"Allan, don’t be afraid. Since you cooperate with us, we will not hurt you. So I will propose something to you. But let me remind you. If you dare betray us, the man who is with me will not be merciful. He will not hesitate to kill you."

"Please, Miss Lanny. I know my mistake. Please spare me. I will do anything. I won’t betray you," Allan begged her.

"Hmm. Okay. I’ll make sure he won’t touch you. It’s your fault. You mess with the wrong people. Athena is so precious to him. But as long as you will listen to me, I can secure your safety."

"Okay, Miss Lanny. I promise. My loyalty is now yours!" Allan swore to her.

"Good. Now, let’s talk about my proposition."

Lanny explained to him her plan. She would release Allan. But once she summoned him, he had to show up right away and obey her every command. She also planned on using him as her double spy just in case Melody would try to hurt Athena once again. She also instructed him to secure more evidence about Melody’s involvement in today’s accident.

Lanny had just finished dealing with Allan when she received a call from her subordinate.

"Miss Lanny! Mission Accomplished. Dominique Smith had already found the remains. The police from YCPD are now on the move to identify it, comparing it to Miss Sabrina’s DNA and medical records."

"That’s great. Keep tailing the police officer assigned to this task. I already asked someone to prepare the fake medical records so that the result would be matched with Sabrina’s record. You know what to do next."

"Yes, Ma’am. Just leave it to me."

"Good. Update me on the progress." Lanny gave him one last instruction before she ended the call.

"Hmm. Things are running smoothly. I wonder where Athena is right now." Lanny mumbled as she checked her phone. She didn’t receive any message from Athena.

Meanwhile, Athena found herself in the Golden Villa, it’s the same villa that was given to her by Dominique as compensation for signing the divorce paper. She was surprised to see that nothing had changed in that villa.

’I didn’t expect him to bring me here.’ Athena thought to herself as she observed her surroundings. This villa held so many memories she shared with Dominique. But she knew that those happy moments were just a lie. Dominique only pretended that he loved her.

Thinking about the past, Athena regained her motivation for her revenge. ’I shouldn’t waver. Dominique is a good liar. I will make him suffer...’ Athena became more determined. She saw this opportunity to win his heart. Dominique was the one who requested her to be with him today.

She was still lost in her thoughts when Dominique suddenly showed up from behind.

"Do you know this place?" Dominique asked her, giving her a scrutinizing gaze. Dominique was clearly testing her.

Athena just let out a soft giggle. "How would I know? This is my first time setting foot in this house."

Then she gazed up and pointed her finger at the large portrait hanging on the wall. "I believe this is not your current house, Mr. Smith. There is no way your wife will allow you to retain that wedding portrait of yours with your ex-wife. Am I right?"

Instead of answering her, Dominique asked her a question. "Is your proposal still valid?"

Athena looked at him with confusion. "What proposal?"

Dominique cast a sorrowful gaze at the wedding portrait. "Becoming my woman?"

Athena: "..."
