Gael gave her the full details of what transpired in the mall this morning. Lanny found it hard to believe that the father and son had finally encountered each other, a situation Athena wanted to prevent.

"I apologize, Lanny. It’s my mistake. I know Sabrina will be upset by this, and she might blame me," Gael expressed his disappointment.

"Don’t be too hard on yourself, Gael. It’s out of your control. However, I’m more worried about Dominique’s reaction. Do you think he noticed the striking resemblance between Aaron and him?" Lanny inquired, feeling a little bit anxious. "Did Aaron mention anything? Sigh. Fortunately, I’m sending the kids back to Country M tonight."

"I can’t say for certain. Aaron mentioned that Dominique assisted him in finding us, and they visited a music store. Nevertheless, I had an uneasy feeling when Dominique and Ashton spotted me. I sensed their suspicious gazes directed at me," Gael explained.

"In the past few years, I have been on Dominique’s watch list. His men kept monitoring my movement as if he suspected me of hiding Sabrina since her body was never found."

Lanny frowned upon hearing that. "That’s weird. Sabrina was presumed dead. Why does Dominique keep on searching for her? Is he not yet satisfied with ruining Sabrina’s life?"

An icy gleam flickered in his gaze, intensifying his resolve. "No matter what his motive is, I will protect Sabrina. I won’t let him hurt her again."

Lanny smiled faintly, recognizing Gael’s protectiveness toward Athena. "No need to worry. I’ve got a backup plan in place if things get out of hand. Sabrina must stay ’dead’ in the eyes of our enemies. When the right moment arrives, we’ll catch them off guard and unveil Athena’s true identity, giving them the shock of their lives."

Gael nodded, reassured by Lanny’s strategic method. "We need to be more cautious, Lanny. We’re dealing with dangerous and manipulative people, and the truth can be a double-edged sword. Timing is crucial."

Lanny placed a hand on Gael’s shoulder. "I know, Gael. Our priority is to keep Athena and Aaron safe. We won’t make any moves without thorough planning."

"Besides, we have nothing to fear because I and my family are more dangerous than them. Hahaha!" A sly smirk played on her lips.

Gael: "..."

Gael just stared at Lanny with amusement. He was clueless about what she was talking about. He didn’t know that Lanny came from a powerful and notorious Mafia Clan in Country M.

The conversation between Gael and Lanny was cut short when Vladimir stepped out of the house together with the kids. "Lanny. Time to go. I don’t want these little kiddos to miss their flight."

"Uncle Vlad! You are just eager to send us off. Ditching us too soon!" Kimmy commented, folding her small arms across her chest as she rolled her eyes skyward.

Vladimir just narrowed his eyes at Kimmy. His niece seemed to have deciphered his thoughts accurately. He couldn’t wait to send them back. Babysitting the twins was not on his list of preferences. Although Aaron was well-behaved, Kimmy’s spoiled and naughty behavior was something he found hard to tolerate.

"I don’t want to leave without seeing Aunt Athena," Aaron also spoke up, putting on a pitiful face.

"Oh, Honey, don’t be sad. Your Aunt Athena promised me that she would call you every day." Lanny quickly comforted the young boy.

"Alright, Mama. I’ll eagerly wait for her calls." Aaron’s mood had been lifted once more.

Meanwhile, Vladimir frowned as he noticed the peculiar bond forming between Aaron and Athena. He found it a little bit strange.

"Your son seems to be more attached to his Aunt than his mother," Vladimir unintentionally remarked.

Lanny lifted an eyebrow as she glanced in Vladimir’s direction. "Hey Clueless Bro. This is what we call Co-parenting! Athena is the mother figure while I’m the father figure."

A cheeky smile flashed on her face as she continued, "Have you forgotten what I told you on Fortuna Grande Island? Hmm. Athena is my sweetheart and my soulmate. We are a couple!" Lanny enjoyed provoking and teasing her brother.

Vladimir’s expression darkened, gritting his teeth. "What nonsense are you spouting, Lanny? You’re just making things up to mess with my head," he retorted, visibly irritated.

Lanny burst into laughter, finding Vladimir’s reaction amusing. "Oh, come on, Vlad! Don’t get so worked up. You’re embarrassing me in front of our visitor. Lighten up a bit!"

Gael could only smile as he watched the banter between the two siblings. Sensing Vladimir’s growing irritation, he finally stepped in to calm the waters.

"Cough! Cough!" He cleared his throat first to catch their attention. "Alright, you two, stop arguing. The kids are here, watching you."

Lanny and Vladimir turned to Aaron and Kimmy.

"Oh goodness! My mom and uncle are making a scene in front of my prince charming. Aren’t they ashamed?" Kimmy sighed, facepalming to conceal her embarrassment.

Meanwhile, Aaron shook his head helplessly and gently patted Kimmy’s back to comfort her. "Let’s promise we won’t act like that when we’re older."

Vladimir: "..."

Lanny: "..."

Gael: "Pffft..."

Gael struggled to suppress his laughter, covering his mouth using his palm. He didn’t want to offend Vladimir and Lanny but he had to admit that the two children seemed more sensible than the two adults in front of them right now.

"C’mon, my little angels! A little argument between siblings is healthy. The more you bicker, the more you care," Lanny tried to justify their behavior with a playful grin.

"This is our sibling’s love language," she added, wrapping her arms around Vladimir’s shoulders.

But Vladimir pretended not to hear it, casually shrugging off Lanny’s hand from his shoulder.

"It’s time to go. Don’t miss your flight!" he stated firmly.

’This is the reason why I am eager to send these kiddos back to my father. A tyrant mafia boss versus two spoiled brats. I wonder who’s going to win.’ Vladimir thought to himself.

But little did he know, the strict and intimidating Mafia Boss doted on the twins so much. He was the one who spoiled them. But he was doing it in secret, careful not to reveal his softer side to his subordinates in order to maintain his tyrant image.
