Chapter 30: Vanilla

Lanny was busy paying their orders when Kimmy suddenly tugged the hem of her shirt.

"Mama! Look! Aunt Athena is kissing a handsome stranger in a black suit!" Kimmy blurted out, catching her mother’s attention.

"What?!" Lanny didn’t want to believe it, thinking her daughter was just making a joke. But the moment she turned around, her jaw dropped upon seeing the scene.

"Holy Shit! Why is the jerk here?!" Lanny gasped in surprise.

"Mama! Don’t speak bad words!" Kimmy scolded her.

’Little girl! That’s not the main concern here!’ Lanny realized the situation. Her eyes immediately scanned the place, looking for Aaron. She spotted him just a few meters away from Athena and Dominique.

Aaron stood silently in his spot, holding his ice cream while staring at Dominique and Athena with a puzzled look in his eyes.

"Time to leave! Keep the change!" Lanny moved swiftly, holding Kimmy’s hand as she pulled her towards Aaron. Upon reaching Aaron’s spot, she quickly grabbed her wrist, dragging him with her.

She seized the chance that Dominique was still distracted by Athena’s kiss as they walked past them, stepping out of the store.

"My Babies, get inside the car now!" Lanny commanded the children.

"But how about Aunt Athena?" Kimmy asked her. "Is that guy... her boyfriend?"

Conflicting emotions flashed through Aaron’s eyes when he heard that. "Aunt Athena has a boyfriend," he mumbled absentmindedly, moving his gaze towards the Happy Store.

Lanny just smiled awkwardly. "No. This is part of your Aunt’s work. He has nothing to do with her. They are just... shooting a movie," she stammered a little as she made an alibi.

Aaron just blinked his eyes before stepping inside the car while Kimmy eyed her mother suspiciously.

"Hey Kim, don’t look at me like that. Just get inside the car now and wait for me." Lanny gave her daughter a warning look.

Licking her ice cream, Kimmy waved her hand before entering the car. She settled down next to Aaron who remained silent in his seat.

Meanwhile, back at the Happy Store, Dominique found himself swept away by Athena’s kiss. Rather than resisting her, his lips instinctively moved, responding to her with eagerness.

Athena’s presence and the taste of her lips brought back memories– precious moments shared with Sabrina in that store.

’I can’t understand this. Why does her presence keep reminding me of Sabrina?’ Dominique thought to himself, placing his hands on the back of Athena’s waist and her neck as he pulled her closer.

As the kiss deepened, Dominique’s mind became a battleground of conflicting emotions.

’Is this just a coincidence or not? What the hell is she doing here? How did she know this place? A foreign woman with the same voice and eyes as Sabrina... dropped by this store... the place that holds our precious memories together.’ Dominique started to get suspicious of Athena’s identity. Despite the difference in their facial features, he could still see Sabrina in Athena.

Meanwhile, Athena could feel the intensity of Dominique’s movement. His lips devoured hers, nibbling and biting her upper and lower lip alternately.

He pried her mouth open so that his tongue could explore her inside. His tongue entwined with hers, indulging in a sensuous dance of licking and sucking her, an insatiable hunger evident in every stroke of his tongue and lips.

His passionate kiss ignited a whirlwind of emotions within Athena, making it difficult for her to take control of the situation.

Dominique’s lips became more demanding as a certain memory of Sabrina flashed in his mind. The hunger in his kisses mirrored his longing for Sabrina.

’Damn! I have to stop now.’ Realizing that Lanny had already taken Aaron away, Athena finally broke the kiss, pressing her palms against Dominique’s chest as she pushed him away. Then she swiftly covered her mouth using her palm, controlling the urge to throw up.

When she raised her head, she was greeted by Dominique’s penetrating gaze, her heart still pounding so hard against her chest. ’That was a close call. He almost saw our son.’ She thought inwardly, her free hand resting on her chest.

"What are you doing here?" Dominique cocked an eyebrow as he interrogated her. He didn’t even question her why she suddenly kissed him. He seemed more interested in whether her presence was somehow linked to Sabrina.

Keeping her composure, Athena smiled at him charmingly and replied, "What kind of question is that Mr. Smith? Obviously, I’m here to buy some sweet goodies. This is a store after all." She let out a soft giggle as she feigned innocence.

Dominique narrowed his eyes at her, not convinced by her response. He had a nagging feeling about this.

"I don’t think this is just a mere coincidence." Dominique declared his assumption, his eyes scrutinizing her. "Are you following me?"

She blinked in disbelief. ’Following him my ass?! I’m not foolish enough to bring my son here if I knew he was here. I don’t even think he still comes here. I’m surprised to see him.’

Athena let out a soft giggle. "Mr. Smith... honestly I am here to buy an ice cream... Would you mind treating me? Besides, I just give you a sweet treat myself." She playfully winked at him, blowing a kiss. Now, she immersed herself in her role of seducing her ex-husband.

Dominique fell silent for a moment, realizing his own mistake. He let himself be kissed by a woman while in a public place. He even kissed her back.

He turned to the storekeeper and the cashier, both staring at them with their surprised look. ’Mr. Smith kissed a beautiful woman... who is not his wife... Is he cheating on her?’

Dominique just ignored them and shifted his attention back to the lovely woman in front of him. "What flavor do you want?"

"Vanilla Ice Cream!" Athena replied, her words slipping out before she could stop them. And it was too late to take her words back. ’Oh, Shoot! That’s a slip of the tongue. That’s my favorite. Can he still remember? I hope not.’

Dominique’s gaze became more intense when her words reached his ears. He had never forgotten. Vanilla was Sabrina’s favorite flavor.
