A few days after the press conference of the Smith couple, Athena’s bashers on the internet toned down a little bit.

The news of Sasha’s pregnancy became the talk of the town. The love story of the Smith couple was known in York City.

Netizens started to congratulate the married couple for finally bearing a child.

Sasha thought everything went according to her plan. People believed her lies. But she couldn’t deceive everyone.

Athena, Lanny, and Gael knew her secret. The child in her belly was not Dominique’s child. Artificial Insemination never happened. She got pregnant with Timothy’s child.

"What do you plan to do now? Are you going to expose her lie?" Lanny asked Athena curiously.

Athena smiled meaningfully. "Yes. I will. But not now. I have to do something first."

It did not take long before Vladimir entered the house.

"Oh, Bro. Right timing. Are you done with your investigation?" Lanny immediately pulled Vladimir, making him sit down on the couch.

"Yes," Vladimir replied, but his eyes were fixed on Athena.

Vladimir and Athena hadn’t talked about her affair with Dominique yet. He had been avoiding the topic for the past few days.

"V, What have you found out?" Athena asked him softly.

"The one who spreads the photos on the internet is Therese. She hired a paparazzi to follow you around. What do you want me to do with her?" Vladimir was serious when he said those words.

He was still furious thinking that Athena’s privacy had been violated by those people. If only he could ask his men to kill those people. But he tried not to shed some blood because of Athena.

"Just let her be for now," Athena responded with a faint smile. She didn’t want to waste her time dealing with her because she had a more pressing matter to fix. Her target was Sasha, Dominique, and the Williams Family.

"Ahem." Lanny cleared her throat. "I’m just gonna check on the children. The two of you can talk here."

Lanny was aware that Athena wanted to talk to Vladimir alone to explain her side. She felt that she owed him an explanation.

When Lanny left, the living room was engulfed by silence.

"V, let’s talk." Athena finally spoke up as she turned to face Vladimir. "It’s about Dominique and me."

Vladimir gazed at her with complicated emotions on his face. ’What is she going to tell me?’ He suddenly became anxious.

"Alright. I’m just here to listen."

Athena took a deep sigh. "I don’t want to lie to you. V..." She paused for a moment, mustering up her courage to say the word. After a while, she locked eyes with him and continued, "I had an affair with my ex-husband."

Vladimir’s heart tightened inside his chest upon hearing that. He subconsciously clenched his fists and his expression turned ashen. He couldn’t help it. He was mad and jealous.

"Did you... sleep with him?" Vladimir asked her.

Athena could only lower her gaze as she couldn’t look straight into Vladimir’s eyes. "Yes," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

"I had to do it. It’s part of my revenge plan..." she explained.

Vladimir tried his best to keep his cool, however, he couldn’t hide his pain. He gritted his teeth tightly until his gum almost bled.

"Why did you have to do that? There are a lot of ways to get your revenge against him. Why do you have to use your own body?" Vladimir questioned her.

Athena didn’t know how she would respond to that.

"Or perhaps... Do you still love him? Do you still have feelings for him, Athena?" Vladimir’s eyes were filled with conflicting emotions as he waited for her answer.

"No!" Athena promptly responded, shaking her head. "I don’t love him anymore. I hate him. I resent him. There is no love between us..."

Athena balled her fingers into fists. She tried to convince herself that she didn’t have feelings for Dominique, only resentment and hatred were left in her heart.

"This is only part of my revenge. Please, believe me, V. I want to destroy his marriage. I want to reclaim everything. I seduced him to make him fall in love with me so that he would abandon his wife. After that, I planned to dump him after destroying his marriage and getting my father’s company back."

Vladimir slammed his eyes shut as he remained silent. He didn’t have the right to question her. He wasn’t mad at her. He was mad at her choice. She could have done her revenge in some other ways wherein she didn’t have to sacrifice her own body.

It was too late. Athena had done this.

"I’m sorry, V... do you hate me now? Do you feel disgusted with me?" Athena asked him with her trembling voice. She felt like crying right now but she tried to hold back her tears.

This was her choice so she had to face the consequences of her actions. She wouldn’t blame Vladimir if he would change after learning the truth. It was better this way. At least, she didn’t have to hide it from him.

Just when she thought Vladimir would hate her, Vladimir suddenly grabbed her, pulling her into a tight embrace.

"Athena... I don’t hate you... I’m sorry. I just got mad... because of your choice. And I’m so jealous after knowing what happened. That bastard is your ex-husband. I’m afraid... thinking you still have feelings for him. But don’t get me wrong. I will never feel disgusted with you."

"My feelings for you will never change. But this time... I hope you will choose to rely on me. I can do things for you. You don’t have to make sacrifices. I am here for you. Use me... use my power. I will do everything for you." Vladimir tightened his grip on her body, afraid to let her go.

Meanwhile, Athena was at a loss for words. She could feel Vladimi’s sincerity in his words. The tears she had been holding back finally spilled from the corners of her eyes. She never expected him to accept and understand her after everything she had done.

’If only I had met this guy earlier than Dominique... things would have been different,’ Athena thought to herself as she hugged him back, burying her tear-soaked face in Vladimir’s chest.
