"Mister! You can’t touch my Daddy Enzo!" Kimmy suddenly stepped forward, shielding Enzo from the police officers.

"He is a good guy! The driver is lying!" Kimmy added as she continued defending Enzo.

She even raised her small fists in a fighting stance.

"You will go through me first. My Uncle V taught me how to fight!" She warned them.

The police officers didn’t know whether to laugh or not. The young girl looked so cute but at the same time, she was serious.

"Little kid. We are not here to fight you. Our duty is to protect children like you," the team leader spoke softly. He was being patient toward Kimmy. He thought the child was too young to understand the situation, that’s why she was acting like that.

"Hmmp! You are the bad guys for accusing an innocent person," Kimmy spat back.

Gael and Enzo could only watch her with a grateful look on their faces. Though she was young, Kimmy wasn’t afraid to speak her mind even against the police officers.

It did not take long before Enzo held her shoulders.

"It’s okay, Kimmy. I will cooperate with them because I am innocent. I will not run away because I know within myself that I didn’t commit any crime." Enzo reassured the child.

"There must be a big misunderstanding here." Alice joined the conversation. She was also doubtful about the evidence they were talking about.

"I will contact a lawyer," Gael said, making a move. He would do anything to protect Enzo.

"No need to handcuff him. We are coming with you." Alice stopped the police from handcuffing Enzo.

Kimmy panicked a little. She felt like she was going to cry. She didn’t want Enzo to come with the police.

"I have to call Grandpa for help! You are going to pay for this! My grandfather is very powerful and influential!" She threatened them.

Kimmy didn’t waste her time as she dialed her grandfather’s number. The police officers just ignored her warning. They were not afraid of the little girl’s threat.

As they escorted Enzo and Alice out of Gael’s office, one police officer received an order from his boss through a text message.

[ You have to torture him and force him to confess his crime. I already wired the money to your account. Take care of this matter. ]

The police officer smiled inwardly upon reading the message. He typed his response.

[ Copy sir. Leave this to me. I will make sure that he talks and confesses, admitting his crime. ]

Just when they reached the hospital lobby, Athena blocked their way.

"Where are you bringing him?" Athena asked in her cold voice.

"In our precinct," The team leader responded.

"You are arresting the wrong person," Athena insisted.

"But we have evidence. The driver’s statement and the photos he presented," The police officer explained.

"Don’t worry, Athena. The truth will eventually come out. Let’s just cooperate with the investigation." Enzo was calmer than before. He felt grateful since several people were defending him.

Athena could only sigh in defeat.

"Miss Alice, you have to ride another car and follow us. We can’t let you ride with us with the suspect." The police who received an order to torture Enzo was trying to separate him from others.

Alice and Athena could only watch Enzo’s back as he stepped into the police car.

"Let’s go together," Athena held Alice’s hand.

Alice could only nod in agreement.

Meanwhile, back at Gael’s office, Kimmy managed to contact her grandfather.

"Grandpa!!!" Kimmy called him out in her trembling voice.

"My princess. What’s wrong? Are you crying?" Miguel asked her worriedly.

"Grandpa! I need your help. Someone is bullying my adopted Daddy. Some bad guys are bringing him to jail! Please help me get his freedom, Grandpa!"

Miguel: "..."

Miguel was taken aback for a moment. He didn’t expect to receive such a request from his precious granddaughter.

But he couldn’t refuse her, especially now that she was crying.

"Tell me what happened. I’ll find a way to solve this matter." Miguel took this seriously as long as this request came from his beloved granddaughter.

"The driver who hit Uncle Dominique lied to the police, blaming Uncle Enzo. Grandpa, believe me. Uncle Enzo is innocent." Kimmy said with certainty. She was confident that Enzo had nothing to do with Dominique’s accident.

On the other hand, Miguel narrowed his eyes when he heard Kimmy’s last remarks.

’Hmm. So the culprit had been caught by the police. Luna failed to catch him first. But it’s alright, I know where to find him.’ Miguel thought to himself, rubbing his chin.

’And according to my granddaughter... this driver made a false confession, putting the blame on Enzo.’ He raised his eyebrow at that assumption.

’Well. There is one way to find out.’ A sinister grin flashed on the old man’s face.

"Stop crying, Kimmy. Your grandpa will take action. You don’t have to worry about your adopted daddy." He consoled the little girl.

"Thank you, Grandpa! I know I can always count on you! Let’s punish them, grandpa!" Kimmy stopped crying as she wiped her tears away.

Soon, the call ended and Lanny entered the office together with Aaron.

"Gael, what happened?" Lanny asked Gael who had just finished talking to a lawyer.

"The police officers arrested Enzo. Alice accompanied him to the precinct. I already contacted an attorney." Gael informed Lanny.

Lanny’s face darkened as she clenched her fists. "I’ll get to the bottom of this."

Kimmy immediately hugged her mother. "Mommy. Daddy Enzo will be alright!"

Lanny just smiled faintly. She just hoped they could catch the real culprit. But deep inside, she was still bothered by this false confession. Who wanted to destroy both Dominique and Enzo? The enemies knew how to play dirty.

Unknown to Lanny and others, Miguel Ivankov was already on the move to unfold the truth. He already mobilized his men to bring the driver to him even if it meant infiltrating the police precincts.

He also sent a spy to monitor Enzo while he was being detained. Miguel wasn’t certain if Enzo was truly innocent or not. With this, he asked his subordinate to investigate Enzo’s background and his possible motive for hurting Dominique Smith.
