Chapter 209: Contract Signing
[ At YJ Entertainment Building... ]
The heads and high-ranking officials of YJ Entertainment Group were all gathered in a conference room. As the president, Timothy Wilson would like to make sure that Athena would feel so special during the contract signing.
The room was filled with natural light from the floor-to-ceiling windows, offering a stunning view of the city skyline. A long glass table was set up in the center, with plush leather chairs arranged around it.
At one end of the table, Timothy sat with a confident and welcoming demeanor. Athena entered the room with her manager, Lanny.
Timothy hastily stood up, ushering the two ladies. "Miss Athena, Miss Lanny. Welcome. Please, have a seat."
The other members of the management team also showed courtesy by providing bouquets of flowers and expressing their joy to have the two ladies today.
Athena maintained her calm yet charming demeanor as she smiled at everyone. "Thank you, President Wilson. It’s a pleasure to be here."
Lanny, on the other hand, nodded politely. "We appreciate this wonderful opportunity to be part of this company."
"The pleasure is ours. Athena, you have an incredible talent, and we’re thrilled to have you join our family." The Vice President of YJ Entertainment also showed her excitement for this contract signing.
Soon Lanny and Athena took their respective seats. They looked around, observing everyone. All they could see was the happy faces of everyone before them.
"We should have invited the media. But we heard that Miss Athena didn’t like to broadcast this." The Head of the Marketing Team also spoke up.
"Yes. We want it to be simple. Let’s just surprise them during Athena’s first concert here!" Lanny responded with a smile.
"Believe it, Athena. We are so lucky that you finally agreed to sign with us. You’ve rejected numerous company’s offers for the past few years. But now, you are here with us! Thank you for trusting and choosing YJ Entertainment. I assure you. You won’t regret this." Timothy reassured Athena.
"Thank you, President Wilson," Athena simply replied.
"Now, let’s get down to business." Timothy slid a sleek binder across the table. "This is the contract. We’ve outlined all the terms we discussed, including the signing bonus, album releases, the grand concert, and promotional activities."
Lanny opened the binder, scanning the document. "Everything seems in order. We’ve reviewed the terms, and they’re fair and comprehensive. We like it!"
Timothy nodded. He couldn’t hide his joy. "Excellent. We strive to ensure our artists feel valued and supported. Athena, do you have any questions or concerns?"
Athe shook her head. "No, it all looks perfect. I’m just so excited to get started."
"Great. Then let’s make it official," Timothy declared, pulling out a pen and handing it to Athena. "Welcome to the team, Athena. YJ Entertainment got your back!"
Athena nodded with a smile as she accepted the pen. "Thank you, President Wilson and the Team. I won’t let you down."
The smile never left on Timothy’s face as he watched Athena sign the contract. "I know you won’t. We’re going to achieve great things together. We will deliver great music to everyone... all over the world!"
Lanny agreed. "This is just the beginning, Athena."
Athena finished her signature, looking up. She handed it back to Timothy. The official photographers they invited took photos as Athena signed her exclusive contract with YJ Entertainment. It would be the headline of the news article by tomorrow.
Timothy took the contract before shaking Athena’s hand.
"Congratulations, Miss Athena. You’re officially part of YJ Entertainment." The members of the management team gave her a round of applause. They also cheered for her.
"Thank you, everyone. I can’t wait to start this journey with all of you."
"We have big plans for you. Let’s get you introduced to the team and start planning your first concert."
Timothy and other members of the management team talked to Lanny and Athena. Others even asked for her autograph. Most of them were Athena’s fans.
After interacting with everyone, Timothy led Athena and Lanny out of the conference room, guiding them to his office.
"Wow. Your office is so big," Lanny gasped before settling down.
"Oh. It’s not that big, especially if you will compare it to Dominique and Oliver’s Office." Timothy served them coffee. He was very attentive to Athena.
"We’ve never visited their offices yet," Athena lied.
"Ah okay. By the way, Miss Athena, are you free tomorrow night? We will have another Circle Event. This time, the group will be celebrating Ashton’s birthday. Do you want to attend and be my date?" Timothy asked Athena directly.
Athena and Lanny exchanged glances with one another.
"I’m sorry. I can’t be your date. I already said yes to Ashton. It’s my birthday gift for him." Athena didn’t reveal that she and Ashton were already exclusively dating.
Timothy looked a bit disappointed when he heard that. "You are very close to your number one fan, Ashton. What a lucky guy!"
Athena just put on a faint smile while Lanny silently observed Timothy, sensing his attraction to Athena.
’Tsk. This playboy wants to target Athena. Hmm, we must be careful when interacting with him,’ Lanny thought to herself. She deliberately sat down between Athena and Timothy, creating a barrier to shield Athena from any potential advances.
"By the way, have you interacted with Sasha?" Lanny asked, changing the topic.
A playful glint flashed through Timothy’s eyes. "No. I think she is already avoiding me. She doesn’t want to get caught cheating on her husband. Why do you ask?"
"Oh, remember our deal? We’re planning to let Dominique Smith know about his wife Sasha’s infidelity. Are you willing to cooperate with us?" Lanny asked, testing Timothy’s loyalty. She couldn’t trust him completely.
"Of course. As long as it benefits you and my Goddess, I’ll cooperate. By the way, I’m curious... do you have a history with Sasha? Why are you so keen on breaking up her marriage? The last time we talked, you told me that you wanted to be Sasha’s friend."
"Well. I have my reasons why I want to be friends with her," Athena replied nonchalantly.
"Oh, really. Now I became more curious. What is your reason? Did she do something bad against you and Lanny?" He asked them eagerly.
"I’m sorry, we can’t answer that. To be honest, Mr. Wilson, we believe we can’t trust you just yet. Who knows if you might suddenly go and tell Sasha everything." Lanny was frank to him.
Timothy just let out a husky laugh. "Okay. I understand your doubt. Do you want me to prove my loyalty?"
"Yes. What can you do for us?" Athena challenged Timothy.
"Hmm. I can give Dominique a hint that his wife had a secret affair with me. Do you want that?" Timothy suggested.
"Great. Then do it. We will be waiting for the result." Lanny agreed.
But then Athena had another method in mind. "Why don’t you pressure and scare Sasha as well? Maybe blackmail her a little so she doesn’t have a moment of peace."
"Whoa, nice suggestion, Miss Athena. I can do that. I’ll pressure her until she comes running to me again," Timothy replied, a sly grin spreading across his face.
"If we get a good chance, we can orchestrate it so Dominique witnesses his wife’s betrayal with his own eyes," Athena suggested, her eyes glinting with a calculated intensity.
Timothy leaned forward, intrigued. "That’s brilliant, Miss Athena. Imagine the impact it would have. Dominique would be devastated, and Sasha would have no way to deny it."
Lanny nodded in agreement, adding, "We need to ensure the timing and setting are perfect. We can’t afford any slip-ups. If Dominique sees the truth for himself, it will be far more effective than any rumor or hearsay."
Timothy had an idea. "We could set up a situation where Sasha is caught red-handed. Maybe a public place, or somewhere Dominique frequently goes, to ensure he sees everything without any chance for Sasha to cover it up."
Athena smiled, feeling a sense of satisfaction. "Exactly. We need to make it undeniable. Dominique has to see her for who she really is, and that will be the end of their marriage."
"Count me in!" Timothy cheerfully declared.

Meanwhile, Lanny’s men were on the move. Today, they would corner Melody Williams to stop her from blackmailing Oliver Jones.
Gael’s spy, who was also one of Melody’s friends, had been instrumental in setting the trap. Following Gael’s instructions, she had invited Melody over for a small, seemingly innocent party at her place.
After three hours of partying...
Gael’s spy spoke quietly into her phone from the kitchen. "Guys, everything is set! Everything is all set. I’m leaving the next steps in your hands." She contacted Lanny’s men.
"Good job! We’ll take over now. Thanks for your help and cooperation."
She hung up, glancing nervously towards the living room. She rejoined the group, maintaining her composure.
Melody was sitting on the couch, a little unsteady and clearly inebriated. She was laughing and holding a drink.
"This party is fantastic! You always know how to have a good time." Melody declared.
Her friend just smiled. "I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself, Melody. You deserve to unwind. Beside, you are getting married soon. Who knows Oliver will be a strict husband who will forbid you from joining us in our gimmicks!"
"Haha. Don’t worry. Oliver will be in my controlled. Not me."
Meanwhile, Lanny’s men entered the apartment discreetly, blending in with the guests. Someone approached Gael’s spy.
"We’re here. Where is she?"
Gael’s Spy nodded towards Melody. "On the couch. Just make sure it looks natural."
Lanny’s men strode toward Melody. Upon reaching her spot, he sat down next to her, offering her another drink. "Hey, Miss Beautiful. Mind if we join you?
Melody grinned. "Of course! The more, the merrier."
