Chapter 195: Spiking the Drink

Athena returned to the dining area while Dominique used the back door to proceed to his room.

"There you are. Is everything okay?" Ashton approached Athena, guiding her as he pulled a chair for her.

"Yes. My manager fixed the issue for me. She just informed me about the changes in the contracts. But all in all, everything is fine," Athena replied, giving him a reassuring smile.

"Good to hear. If you need some help, I know some expert lawyers. I can recommend someone reliable enough to check the terms and conditions of your contracts before signing them." Sasha offered some help.

"Oh, thanks, Sasha. I appreciate that. Don’t worry. If I ever need an attorney, I will immediately contact you."

Sasha let out a soft giggle before placing the main dishes at the center of the table.

"Are you both hungry now?" she asked her guests.

"I’m fine," Athena promptly responded.

"Me too. I’m not yet hungry. We can wait for Dominique." Ashton smiled, focusing her attention on Athena.

He still couldn’t believe that the beautiful woman sitting next to him was already his girlfriend.

"By the way, have you heard the news? Melody’s engagement with Oliver Jones will push through." Sasha brought up a new topic while waiting for Dominique to finish his bath.

"Were you the one who convinced Oliver to continue the engagement?" She asked Athena.

"Eh? Why did Athena get involved with Oliver’s decision?" Ashton interjected before Athena could reply.

"Hmm. A few days ago, Melody’s mother approached Athena, requesting her to convince Oliver since he is a die-hard fan of Athena. Melody’s mother thought Athena could help change Oliver’s mind." Sasha explained to Ashton.

Athena just giggled, shaking her head. "Oh. It’s not me. His decision has nothing to do with me. I guess Melody managed to ’convince’ him during the product launch event. She stayed by Oliver’s side the whole night. She stuck like glue."

Sasha burst out laughing after hearing Athena’s last words.

"So true. The Williams Family is so desperate." Sasha commented, mocking them.

Athena nodded, emitting another soft giggle.

Ashton could only watch the two ladies. The two seemed like they were getting along so well as they backstabbed their common enemy– Melody Williams.

"Are you going to attend the engagement party?" Ashton butted in, asking Athena.

"No. I don’t think I’m invited." Athena could tell that Melody and Alfonso would be the ones in control of this event. Oliver was still being blackmailed and he was in no position to go against Melody’s wants.

Melody had learned her lesson. She wouldn’t allow Lanny, Athena, or Enzo to ruin her engagement for the second time around.

But little did Melody know, Lanny and Athena were going to help Oliver with his problem. They would ruin her plan. They had already crafted a strategy to do that.

"Hmm. It’s okay, my Lady. You don’t need to attend that engagement party. Just attend my birthday party. I will make sure that you will enjoy it." Ashton held her hand, his eyes sparkling with anticipation.

Sasha could only shake her head helplessly. She could see that Ashton was so infatuated with Athena.

"I’ll make sure to sing you a song on your birthday," Athena responded, matching Ashton’s sweetness.

"Oh gosh! Can you both stop doing a public display of affection? I’m getting jealous. My husband is not yet here." Sasha said jokingly.

Ashton just chuckled at her words while Athena smiled faintly.

It did not take long before Dominique showed up, looking so fresh in his casual white shirt and blue trouser pants. His hair was still wet as proof he had just come out of the shower. It looked like he was in a hurry, not bothering to dry his hair.

"Babe, you’re finally here. Come so that we can start our dinner." Sasha called him in her sweet tone.

Dominique merely nodded at her. Then he cast a look at Athena, staring at her with eyes filled with yearning. The kisses they had shared outside earlier weren’t enough to quench his thirst for her. He wanted more of her.

Meanwhile, Athena tried to ignore his penetrating gaze. She turned to her side, entertaining Ashton.

Dominique frowned deeply and clenched his fists. Seeing Athena with Ashton was still unbearable in his eyes.

"Let’s eat!" Sasha declared to them excitedly.

She couldn’t wait to finish their meal since after this, she was going to implement her plan. She was going to invite the four of them to have a drink on the balcony. That’s when she would spike Dominique’s wine.

An hour later, Sasha invited the group outside, bringing them to the balcony.

"It’s too early for everyone to go home. Let’s drink and celebrate our success. For the product launch and for Ashton’s love life!" Sasha suggested.

"Yes! Let’s do that!’ Ashton agreed.

Dominique had to stay as well since Athena was still there.

"Wait here. I’m going to prepare the drinks."

Sasha was about to leave when Athena offered her help as she rose from her seat.

"Let me help you with the drinks, Sasha. It’s the least I can do as a guest."

Sasha waved her off with a dismissive hand, her own smile fixed and polite. "No, no, Athena. You’re our guest. Just relax. I can handle it myself."

Athena hesitated, sensing a strange tension in Sasha’s demeanor. "Are you sure? I don’t mind helping."

Sasha’s smile tightened. "Absolutely. Just sit back and enjoy. I’ll be right back with the drinks."

Athena returned to her seat, trying to shake off the uneasy feeling. She watched Sasha disappear into the kitchen, her curiosity piqued.

Unable to resist, she quietly followed, stopping just outside the doorway. She peered inside, hoping to see Sasha simply preparing the drinks.

What she saw instead made her confirm her suspicion. Sasha was up to something!

Sasha was standing at the counter, carefully pouring a small, clear liquid into one of the wine glasses. Athena’s eyes widened in shock. ’What is she doing?’

Her mind raced, trying to comprehend what she had just witnessed. The thought that Sasha might be spiking one of the drinks was both alarming and confusing.

’Why would she do such a thing? Who is her target?’ Athena wondered, her heart pounding in her chest.
