His Mistress is His Ex-Wife
Chapter 164: Her Voice

Chapter 164: Her Voice

"Uncle Dom," Aaron’s cheerful voice echoed in the lobby.

He tugged his hand, gesturing Dominique to face Miguel. "I would like you to meet my grandfather. Grandpa, this is Uncle Dom, the friend I’ve mentioned to you."

Miguel and Dominique locked eyes.

"It’s nice meeting you, Mr. Smith. My grandson is so fond of you." Miguel extended his right hand, smiling at him meaningfully.

Dominique nodded politely as he shook Miguel’s hand.

"My pleasure is mine as well, Mr.?"

"Miguel Ivankov," he introduced his full name.

Dominique simply sized Miguel up from head to toe. ’Have I met him somewhere? I can feel some familiarity with him.’

"I will leave my precious grandson in your care. Can I trust you with that?" Miguel looked straight into Dominique’s eyes.

"Okay, Mr. Ivankov. I will take care of him." Dominique reassured him.

Then Miguel glanced at his grandson. "Just call me if you are done. I will fetch you later."

Aaron bobbed his head frantically. "Yes, Grandpa. I will message you."

Miguel cast one last glance at Dominique before leaving the Starlight Group Building.

Meanwhile, Dominique brought his attention back to the young boy.

"Shall we go up? I’ll show you my office." Dominique said tenderly, offering his hand to Aaron.

Aaron smiled widely, accepting his hand. "Aren’t you busy, Uncle Dom?"

"No. I’m not," he promptly responded.

Walking side by side while holding each other’s hand, Dominique and Aaron headed to the VIP elevator.

The office workers couldn’t help but observe the pair while whispering to each other. Lots of them were amazed to see their CEO together with a charming young boy.

And the most intriguing thing was that they could see the uncanny resemblance between the two as if they were father and son.

"Have you seen the boy? He really looks like CEO Smith. Is he his son?"

"Oh, they are so cute."

"My gosh, Our CEO and the child look good together. Are they blood-related? Perhaps his nephew?"

"Hey, stop whispering. Let’s get back to work."

It did not take long before Aaron and Dominique reached his office. The secretary was surprised to see the young boy with him.

"Sir, who is this charming child?" The secretary greeted Aaron with a friendly smile.

"I’m Aaron."

"He is my nephew," Dominique butted in. "Please bring some snacks," he added.

The secretary nodded. "Understood, sir."

"What do you want to eat?" He turned to Aaron. "Anything you want. I will buy them for you."

"I want you to teach me how to play guitar, Uncle Dom," Aaron requested.

"Sir, you have a meeting today with President Davis and his team in an hour." She reminded Dominique about his schedule.

Dominique narrowed his eyes. "Just cancel it."

Secretary: "..."

The secretary was taken aback when she heard that.

Just yesterday, he demanded Ashton and his team to fix the delays in the construction project. He was the one who set this meeting today. And now, he wanted to cancel it just because of his young visitor who wanted to have guitar lessons with him.

"Come inside, Aaron." Dominique guided him inside the office, not waiting for his secretary to say a word.

"Uncle Dom, am I being a burden to you? You canceled an important meeting because of me. If you want we can reschedule our guitar lesson." Aaron didn’t want to give him hassle.

"No. It’s okay. I made a promise to you. I will fulfill it now. You’ve returned for this, am I right?"

Aaron felt so touched because of Dominique’s words.

"Yes. You are one of the reasons why I came back." Aaron admitted. "I’ve missed you, Uncle Dom."

Dominique’s expression softened when he heard that. He gently stroked his hair.

"I’ve been waiting for your call. But you didn’t message me. I gave you my number but I forgot to get yours."

Dominique made him sit on the couch.

Aaron just smiled sheepishly and scratched his face. "I got busy with schoolwork."

But the real reason why he hadn’t contacted him was because Athena forbade him to do so.

"Yeah. I understand." Dominique sat down next to Aaron.

He stared at him for a long moment, assessing his facial features.

’Yeah, Looking at him up close, I finally noticed our resemblance. I wonder if my child with Sabrina was a boy, he might look like Aaron.’ Dominique smiled sadly at that thought.

"Uncle Dom? What were you thinking? Why are you looking sad?" Aaron noticed the sadness in his eyes.

Dominique just shook his head. "I’m not sad," he lied.

But Aaron didn’t believe him. "Your eyes will never lie, Uncle. I can see it. Is there something bothering you? You can share it with me. I’m willing to listen."

"We have all day to talk. I’m not in a hurry about our guitar lesson," Aaron added, lending him his ears.

Dominique couldn’t help but smile. Aaron sounded like a mature man. He couldn’t explain why he had the urge to open up with Aaron by just looking at him. He was comfortable confiding his hidden feelings and thoughts with this young boy.

"Aaron, the truth is I have some regrets in my life. Things I could no longer change. But I wish I could bring back time to meet someone again and ask for her forgiveness."

Aaron was just silent, nodding his head as he listened to him attentively. He even held Dominique’s hand, giving it a light squeeze to comfort him.

"I hurt her... the woman I truly loved. Because of the wrong choice I made... I’ve lost her and my unborn child. She was my first wife."

Aaron’s eyes widened when he heard that. He suddenly became curious about the woman he loved.

"What is her name? Do you still love her? How about your current wife?" Aaron bombarded him with so many questions.

Despite that, Dominique was willing to answer him.

"Her name is Sabrina. Yes. I still love her. With regards to my current wife..." Dominique paused for a moment.

"Honestly, I don’t have feelings for my current wife. I only married her because I felt indebted to her. She is my friend."

Aaron was intrigued by Dominique’s revelation.

"Uncle Dom, do you still have a picture of your first wife? May I see her?" Aaron requested.

Dominique smiled at him. "Sure. Give me a second."

He picked up his phone and scanned through his phone gallery. For the past five years, he had kept Sabrina’s photo in his private gallery.

He hadn’t realized it but he kept Sabrina’s memories for so long. Whenever he missed her, he just found himself scanning his gallery, watching Sabrina’s photos.

"Here she is." Dominique handed his phone over to Aaron. "Please keep this a secret between us."

Aaron nodded. "Yes. I promise," he said, raising his pinky finger.

He accepted Dominique’s phone and was surprised to see Sabrina’s photo.

"She is so beautiful," Aaron mumbled. He didn’t know why but his heart leaped upon seeing her face.

"Yes, indeed. She is the most innocent girl I’ve ever met in my entire life. I will never forget her beautiful smile." Dominique mumbled with utmost sincerity and so much love. Now, he was openly admitting his real feelings for Sabrina.

Aaron checked the other photos. He saw several photos of Dominique and Sabrina together. They looked so happily in love in those pictures. They truly matched each other. But unfortunately, things didn’t end up well for both of them.

For some unknown reason, Aaron felt so sad for the ex-couple.

"I don’t know what happened, Uncle Dom. I can see the profound love in your eyes in these photos. Why did you make the wrong choice? What kind of choice was that?" Aaron asked him.

Dominique fell silent, unable to respond right away.

"Because of my resentment toward her father, I deliberately hurt her and her family. It was already too late when I realized that I loved her for real."

Aaron frowned after hearing his revelation.

"You are still young, Aaron. It’s hard to explain. Things were very complicated between Sabrina and me."

Aaron just nodded his head in understanding. "Thank you for sharing this with me, Uncle Dom."

"I will be honest with you, Aaron. I’m not a good person. I committed a lot of mistakes in the past. I lost everything... my family and the woman I love. I feel so empty inside..." Dominique pressed his hand against his chest.

But Aaron leaned closer to him, giving him a warm hug.

"Uncle Dom, No one is perfect. Everyone commits mistakes. But the important thing is to reflect and learn from them. I do believe that you are a good person. I can feel it in my heart. You are honest with me."

Aaron’s words consoled Dominique a lot.

"Thank you, Aaron, for believing in me." Dominique gently stroked his hair once more.

They were still talking when Dominique’s secretary called him through the intercom, interrupting the two.

"Sir, Mr. Davis is on line two. Do you want to talk to him?"

Dominique excused himself for a moment, picking up the telephone. As Dominique conversed with Ashton, Aaron continued watching the photos in Dominique’s gallery.

It did not take long when Dominique’s phone rang. Someone was calling him. The caller ID was Miss Song.

Aaron glanced at Dominique but he was still on the telephone. With no choice left, Aaron answered the phone.

"Hello?" Aaron spoke.

The caller from the other line was taken aback for a moment when she heard a young boy’s voice.

"Hello. Is this Mr. Smith’s phone? Can I talk to him?"

At that certain moment, Aaron’s eyes widened in surprise when he recognized that voice.

’Wait. I can’t be wrong. I know that voice. It’s Aunt Athena! Does she know Uncle Dom?’
