His Mafia Prince -
Chapter 58: Big Bad Mafia Boss
Chapter 58: Big Bad Mafia Boss
(TYLER)
Miles and Sasha’s expressions look pretty serious. I have no idea what they are talking about, and neither does Sasha bring me up to speed when we get into the car.
Sasha makes numerous phone calls on the drive. I don’t know what the calls are about though because he speaks some foreign language that I don’t understand. I realize that he is very busy today but still made time to drive me to the hospital. I feel flattered until it dawns on me that maybe he decided to drive me himself because he doesn’t want people to know that I’m aborting his baby behind his back.
Most things he does usually serve his needs. Not mine.
I am relieved however that I’m finally going to get rid of Jake’s baby. The procedure makes me nervous, but I’m not going to let Sasha know that. I won’t give him a reason to turn the car around. I get the feeling sometimes that he doesn’t want me to go through with the abortion. What I don’t understand is why he sort of cares for this baby. Maybe it could be what he told me earlier, that having the baby would give his mother something to focus on.
He drives into the hospital premises and parks the car underground. He shuts the engine and then turns to me. "How far along are you?"
"About fourteen weeks," I frown. "Why?"
"I didn’t have an answer for that when the doctor asked me yesterday. It matters because the doctors don’t recommend using the pill when you are past eleven weeks."
"Really?" a feeling of dread takes over me and I grit my teeth. "What does that mean? That I’m going to be stuck having the baby?"
He reaches for my hand. I’m sure he must have heard the panic in my voice. "I don’t think so. Maybe what they mean is you just got to have a surgical procedure instead. If that’s the case then I think they can schedule that."
"But you can make them give me the pills."
He narrows his gaze at me. "How would I do that?"
I bug my eye to look pathetic. "Because you are Sasha Adonis? You can do anything you want, right?"
He lets out a gruff laugh. "Yes, that could be true, Tyler. But I’m not God. They say they don’t prefer the pill past eleven weeks because then it doesn’t work."
"Oh."
He opens the door on his side and then glances at me. "You’ll be fine, Tyler. Don’t worry, you will get your abortion soon."
I open my door and get out. I have to brace myself on the car for a bit because my head is spinning. "Shit," I lean on the car, trying to catch my breath. I don’t know why I’m so winded when all I did was sit in a car on the drive over.
Sasha walks over to me. "What’s wrong?"
"I just feel dizzy," I let out a shaky breath. "It will pass soon."
"You get dizzy a lot." He mumbles.
"Its normal. I guess it’s a pregnancy thing."
"Right," he scowls.
I laugh gruffly. "Are you scared you’re stuck with a defective omega?"
"If you have the energy to be a smart ass then I guess you’ll do just fine. You can’t be too sick." He sighs.
I hoist myself up ignoring the little stars at the edge of my vision. He slips his arm around mine and walks me to the elevator, glancing around every few minutes.
Sometimes I forget he is in the mafia. I don’t know a lot about what happens in his world because I’m stuck in the house, but mostly because I’m not interested. I remember that there are lots of enemies who might want to harm him, and that puts me on their radar too.
"Why didn’t you let Miles drive us?" I ask
"Because I thought you’d want the privacy."
He says that that was the reason, but I don’t believe him. "Is it safe for you to be walking around without a bodyguard?"
He laughs. "I can take care of myself, Tyler."
"I don’t know, it just seems... like a big shot... like you need security."
He doesn’t respond. Minutes later we reach the elevators and the doors ding open. We step inside and the dizziness still hasn’t worn out. I lean on the mirrored walls. Much as the lightheadedness and the dizziness are part and parcel of pregnancy, part of me thinks that it’s due to the stress too.
Life hasn’t exactly been easy since I met Sasha. There’s also the added pressure of Angelo being Jake. The situation sparks a whole new level of anxiety in my life.
Sasha watches me silently as the elevator goes up. The way he gazes at me sometimes reminds me of it. Jungle cat. There’s something subtle, yet very dangerous about the way he observes me. Sometimes I can’t help feeling like his little pet. Yet, other times he treats me like his stuffed animal. Like last night when he gave me a back rub. He has two baffling sides.
"Tyler, what’s that expression on your face?"
"I’m just reminiscing last night."
He arches a brow. "Is that right?"
"Yes, you were unusually kind to me." My gaze narrows. "I’m not sure why."
He laughs. "Can’t I be nice to my omega?"
"You can, of course." I shrug. "Usually you just wouldn’t bother."
"When you keep saying such things I don’t get the drive to be kind." Be mumbles. "don’t you know of positive reinforcement Tyler?" he snickers. "You might worm more back rubs out of me if you were nice."
I smile naughtily. "Did I hurt your little feelings, Sasha?"
"You can’t hurt my feelings."
"Right, because you’re the big bad mafia boss. You have no feelings." I say dramatically, ignoring the sting of his words.
"I am a big bad boss." He says
"I know."
"You just don’t treat me like I am sometimes."
"What am I supposed to do, Sasha? Kiss your ass like everyone else? Honestly, I don’t think you’d like that very much. I think you like being given a hard time."
"Oh yeah? What makes you think I enjoy it?"
"Well," I shrug. "You’re an alpha. You like the chase."
"Mmh...that’s true. I like the chase."
"And you like taking what you want. You don’t trust things that come easy."
He smirks. "I see you got me all figured out."
I laugh. "I know alphas. And you’re no different. They love the hunt."
He sucks in his bottom lip and then moves towards me. "If I didn’t know better, I’d say you’re trying to lure me to kiss you."
"No." I jerk as he moves closer to me.
He stands in front of me and tucks a strand of hair behind my ear. It’s the tender gestures that make me think he is legitimately affectionate, which in all honesty disturbs me. Affection and Sasha don’t go hand in hand. He’s cruel and heartless. I have to remember that he once sent goons with batons to hunt me.
"Then don’t challenge me, Tyler." He cocks his head. "That only makes me want to take."
I meet his salacious gaze and my pulse picks. "You don’t scare me, Sasha."
