His Mafia Prince -
Chapter 51: Do They Know?
Chapter 51: Do They Know?
(TYLER)
"You look beautiful, Tyler," Angelo says. "Sexy as always."
I glare at him. My heart is pounding and blood seems to be rushing to my ears too fast. I’m dying to punch him in the gut. "F...Fuck you." I drag the insult. I no longer feel tongue-tied. I’m too angry for that. The fear has morphed into pure rage.
"Aaah, come on, Tyler. Don’t be like that." Angelo smirks reaching to touch my cheek and I smack his hand. "We had some awesome time together."
"Good time?" I grit my teeth. "You tried to kill me." That comes out a little too loud for his liking but I don’t care at this point. I’m not worried because the room is noisy with the hum of conversations. I doubt that anyone is even paying close attention to us.
"Now did I? You got it all mixed up. I just gave you an extra bag to be nice."
"You gave it to me knowing I couldn’t refuse. You knew I was already too high and it would be dangerous if I took more. Stop lying. You wanted me dead."
He narrows his gaze. "If I wanted you dead, you’d be dead, Tyler."
"Nonsense. Why then did you leave me convulsing on that motel floor? Why did you kick my hand away when I begged you to help? You left me for dead but you know what? Your plan failed. Someone found me before it was too late and we both know that isn’t because you called for help either."
"I didn’t know you needed help." He shrugs nonchalantly.
"I was fucking convulsing." I hiss.
"Were you? Why don’t I remember that?"
I facepalm myself with a trembling hand, anger rippling through me. "You knew perfectly well that I was overdosing. You wanted me to die."
He hesitates for a beat. "You’re taking this all too personally. You were fun to fuck though, Tyler. What I couldn’t have happen is let a heroin addict carry my child. I’m glad you finally know my family; now do you understand why I had to at least try and fix the problem?"
I scoff disbelievingly. Hi callousness sickens me.
"You should even thank me." He says.
"For what exactly? Trying to kill me?"
"I’m serious," he shrugs. "I mean, you were in heat and the condom broke. I came inside that smutty hole of yours. If you got pregnant, I think the overdose took care of the problem for us both, right?"
His comment makes me stiff. His brows knit close together.
"You’re not pregnant, Tyler. Are you?" something ugly works in his calculating eyes.
For a moment, my gut dreads with fear. "No." I croak out. I have to admit however that some twisted part of me would like to rub the pregnancy on his face just to prove to him that his attempt to get rid of the baby failed. But then that would be foolish. He was once willing to murder me just because he suspected I might get pregnant. What if he learns the baby exists? He’ll sure try to finish the job.
"Good," he sighs. "That’d be a fucking disaster."
The sight of him makes me want to vomit and I don’t think I can stand looking at him anymore. Intern to leave but he grabs my arm and tugs me closer to him.
I try to yank my hand away. "Let go of me." I hiss through my clenched teeth."
"How the fuck did you end up marrying my brother?" he hisses, looking at me maliciously.
His nails dig into my flesh and I wince. "Let go of my hand."
"Answer me first. Did you get on his radar purposely so you could screw me over?"
"I didn’t even know he was your brother!"
He studies me for a few seconds then releases my arm. "I’ll only buy that because you looked truly shocked to see me. You wouldn’t have been if you set this whole thing up just to get under my skin." He purses, scanning me like I’m a bug on the sidewalk. "But here you are anyway, turning up to ruin what I’ve worked for. That’s a bit too coincidental, don’t you think? How did you get under my brother’s radar?"
"Pure coincidence."
"Is he your new plug? Does he supply you with the heroin? Is that how you met?"
"I’m not using anymore," I hiss. "Sasha knows nothing of my past."
"How I that?"
"Unlike you, I don’t like talking about myself to every person I meet. And even if I do, I don’t tell them I used to be an addict."
"How is that possible?" he rubs his chin. "You expect me to believe you coincidentally caught the eyes of two Adonis brothers? That seems unlikely."
"Probably, but it’s the truth."
"And how exactly did you two meet?"
I almost laugh when I remember the details of the story Sasha and I came up with of how we met, but instead, I clear my throat. "I...I met him when I was tending bar at the Magna. That’s where it really hit off."
"What a touching love story?" he laughs condescendingly.
"I’d prefer if Sasha never learns about our past acquaintances," I tell him sternly.
"Well, that’s one way to put it."
"It’s best for you too if he doesn’t find out." I glance around nervously and find Sasha’s gaze pinned on me. My stomach drops at the intensity of his glare.
"Why would I care about that? If anything, I’ll be glad if he knows. Imagine how much fun it would be to rub in his face that I fucked his omega." He laughs. "Many, many times."
Heat rushes to my face and I snap. "Don’t flatter yourself. I only did it for the drugs."
"And that makes it better?" he scoffs. "He’d snap if he learnt I had you first." He shrugs and then narrows his eyes. "Unless your marriage is a sham just as I suspected."
A frisson of nervous energy ripples through me. "it’s not a sham. It’s... real."
He snickers. "You’re a professional liar, Tyler. You’ve always been."
"Don’t waste your time telling him about us. That will only make him mad and won’t help get you to power in any way. Sasha is officially the head of the Triple Triad Syndicate. You can try telling him about us and see if it will change anything."
"Oh, I don’t think so," his eyes run up and down my body and his eyes darken with lust. "You know, Tyler, if you play along, I might reconsider and keep you around when I finally get Sasha out of the way."
"You’re dreaming, Angelo, or Jake. Whatever your name is. He will never just hand over power to you. The leader of the Triple Triads is Sasha, and he is in his rightful place."
"He’s too young and doesn’t know a thing about how things work. He has no business being the head of the family."
For some strange reason, his dismissive tone towards Sasha irks me. "Well, at least he’s actually family. What of you?"
His nose flares and he turns red. "You know, Tyler, I liked you better when you were high all the time. You were way more fun without that smart mouth of yours."
"Your opinion means nothing to me, Jake. It baffles me that you think you are more deserving of Sasha’s position. Tell me something, does your family know you ply omegas for sexual favours and try to kill them after?"
