Chapter 1669: Chapter 413: Breakthrough, Four Seas Demon Ship!
Black Prison Castle.
In front of the inner fortress.
The rise of two suns brought light back to the Black Prison, tearing deep cracks into the earth’s veins of this world. Magma flowed out of those fissures, painting patches of deep red on the desolate surface; malevolent energy poured out, marking many mottled black domains beyond the red.
The magic power born with the sun surged uncontrollably, dragging the crustal plates in pursuit of magic, causing shifts. This tore great holes in the once stable defensive magic array of the ancient castle.
The largest breach appeared in front of the inner fortress.
It was a wedge-shaped enclave, like a wedge, breaking the "eggshell" of the entire defense system, crossing two defensive magic arrays of the outer and main fortress in succession, forcibly embedding itself beneath the walls of the inner fortress from outside the castle.
This "enclave" resulted from the rupture of earth veins and crust movement, with newly born magic power from the underground surging wildly, severely disrupting the restoration of the defensive magic array of the Black Prison Castle. Meanwhile, turbid underground water and magma spewed out together, weaving and steaming into dense fog.
Because the fog obscured the wizards’ vision and affected the array restoration work, the Black Prison Castle specially deployed a group of wizards to stand on the broken sections of the left and right city walls, jointly casting large-scale Fire Curse and Wind Curse, attempting to dispel the fog.
Theoretically, the fog generated by underground water being burned by magma would easily be dried by Fire Curse or shredded by Wind Curse.
But after hundreds of wizards combined their efforts to cast several spells, they found that the fog not only showed no sign of dissipating but was gradually increasing.
Moreover, from the depths of the white dense fog came many disturbing roars.
Batches of temporarily dispatched hunting teams hurriedly shuttled between the city walls, their steps disorderly. Although there were two suns overhead, the chilly intent brought by the pervasive white fog outside the walls seeped into every wizard who saw the fog, like a maggot in the bone.
It was as if the fog contained some terrifying meme, just observing it would affect one.
"Nameless white fog has appeared within the Keiform Flight Land!"
"Detection magic is ineffective! But intense space magic reactions can be detected!"
"Green phosphorescence within the white fog can be observed with the naked eye, judged as a non-natural phenomenon!"
"Latest orders from the Divination Group! Execute the primary defense plan!"
"Strengthen the defense system within the fortress!"
Low exclamations from young wizards intertwined with urgent commands, breaking the silence above the fog, with eye-catching magical brilliance flashing occasionally.
Click, click!
"They finally came... that Mist creature is as foolish as ever."
"I want to fight two."
"The defense in other directions is entrusted to the deputy principals, without any issue."
"I clearly retired but cannot rest... truly a sin..."
Heavy footsteps and brief dialogues echoed behind the walls on the left and right of the enclave, finally halting at the broken city wall of the main fortress.
Above the enclave, the white fog advancing towards the wall-head suddenly halted its invasion, receding and coiling back above the enclave, revealing the broken city walls on both sides and several tall figures.
At the broken section of the left city wall stood Yao XiaoMi, principal of Jiuyou Academy, and Sun Qi, principal of Starry Sky Academy.
At the broken section of the right city wall stood former principal Tilda Strange of Alpha and Urelban, principal of Atlas Academy.
The four top wizards stood with arms either folded or behind their backs, some smirking, others silent, quietly watching the white fog. They had not fully unleashed their true forms yet emanated an aura several meters high, solidly blocking the fog’s assault as stably as mountains and deep abysses.
On the city walls, the Wind Spell released by the temporarily drafted wizards had not completely dissipated, rustling the fine wool cloaks of the principals behind them.
Further afield, at the edge of the enclave.
The two vice-principals of the First University stood on the wall of the inner fortress, quietly observing everything.
Gollum.
Glug, glug.
From within the white fog came a sound like seawater rolling, the surface of the fog rippled, and moments later, a huge vortex appeared above the white fog, directly facing the broken left city wall.
"Tch, the Mist creature has such luck," Professor Yao shook his head.
Sun Qi, principal of Starry Sky Academy, couldn’t hide his disappointment: "I’d rather wrestle with an iceberg... vortices are too slippery."
As they spoke, a gigantic gray ship, covered with seaweed and shells, shot out from the vortex of white fog, stopping firmly in mid-air. White fog streamed like water from the gaps in the ship’s gunwales, portholes, windows, and deck, quickly disappearing into the dense fog behind the ship.
At the same time, in the corresponding direction of the broken right city wall, a wide five-masted ship slowly sailed out from the white fog. The fog rolled around the ship, morphing into vivid scenes of Beta Town screaming amidst fire and black smoke, the Alpha tower collapsing with a roar, and first-year students of the First University being tied up in various odd shapes and sizes by demons, driven stumbling towards the depths of Silent Forest.
Tilda Strange, with a broad forehead, sallow skin, and black hair, coldly observed these mirages, stepping forward as if the entire city wall trembled beneath her feet.
"Mirage... or should I now call you ’Poseidon’?" The witch’s contemptuous voice echoed across the battlefield: "Is cheap trickery still all you can manage!"
Beside her, Atlas Academy Principal Urelban lowered his eyelids, murmuring softly, "The blasphemers shall fall into Abhidhama."
In answer to the two principals came a heavy thud.
Boom!!
A massive iceberg fell from the white fog, crashing heavily into the space between the enclave, spreading cold breath everywhere, extinguishing the crimson magma, and seemingly also suppressing the boiling underground magic, calming it considerably.
"Roar!!"
A huge white bear emerged from the top of the iceberg, rising up and issuing a threatening sound at the two figures on the inner fortress wall opposite.
Vice Principal Ruoyu lowered his head, caressing the silver wolf-headed cane in front of him, with a hint of surprise on his face: "This little bear... is kept quite well."
Vice Principal Shi Hui ignored her colleague’s joy at the sight of a hunter.
She didn’t even lower her eyelids to glance at the "well-kept" white bear.
The witch’s gaze remained fixed on the opposite direction all along.
The white fog continued to roll, and after three other large ships appeared, the owner of this fog, an entirely black, sleek three-masted sailboat, silently glided out.
The greenish Deadly Wind Lamp hung at the figurehead of the female demon swayed gently, her eyes closed in fear, snake-hair obediently hanging down on both sides of her head, yet for some reason, a strange pride welled up inside—
This battlefield was the central point of the wizard and demon battle.
And she was actually at the forefront of this central point.
If she could return alive, this event could be bragged about for a lifetime.
