Chapter 162: Chapter 162: Meeting a Soul-Snatching Male Demon
The lights flickered, and the crowd surged, but Yan Qianyi didn’t even notice she was being secretly photographed.
Yan Chuhua saw her and hurried over, "Qianyi, where have you been? Why are you only getting here now?"
"Quick, I need an ice-cold beer," Yan Qianyi’s gaze darted around.
She was feeling intensely hot all over, her heart thudding wildly, desperately needing a beer to cool down.
Yan Chuhua got her a cold beer, and she gulped it down quickly.
"Slow down," Yan Chuhua said, "What’s the rush? Has something happened?"
Yan Qianyi wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, "I just encountered a male demon, almost had my soul snatched away."
Yan Chuhua’s eyes widened in shock, "A demon that steals vitality? My goodness, do such creatures actually exist in this world?"
"Just kidding, I’m going back to rest."
"Aren’t you going to hang out?"
"Nope." She just wanted an ice-cold beer to cool off.
This was the only place in the entire school where you could get free ice-cold beer.
"Don’t go," Yan Chuhua held onto her, "This is our last hurrah before we enter the Federation Military Academy. After this, it’s just years of tedious studies and intense training, no more chances like this."
Tonight’s dance party was specifically for this new class of freshmen.
It was meant for everyone to have a blast before they all had to buckle down.
"I really don’t want to hang out anymore; I’m heading back to the dorm. Take it slow, don’t drink too much."
Earning money was all Yan Qianyi cared about.
Now that she wouldn’t need to spend her evenings practicing dance, she could take on assignments from the organization’s website or see a few patients.
"Then I won’t hang out either, I’ll go back with you."
The two left the dance party. The boy who had secretly taken Yan Qianyi’s photo sent it to Shi Xin.
At that moment, Shi Xin was in an abandoned factory.
A man sat in front of her, his back to her, surrounded by six others.
"Instructor Shi, you’ve worked in the Federation Empire’s Military Department for over a decade, do you really know nothing about military secrets?" The man in the chair spoke, "I know you were expelled by the First Commander of the Federation Empire and even deported from the Capital Star. We now share the same enemy; don’t you want to get your revenge?"
Shi Xin looked at the man’s back and laughed helplessly, "You know I’m just an ordinary instructor, what high-level military secrets could I possibly have? All I can offer you is this year’s list of students from the Federation Military Academy, which I doubt is what you want."
"You’ve been in the Military Department for so many years, surely you can provide some information?"
"You just want to target that man, right? I can help you with that."
"Really?"
"Of course, but I have one condition."
"What condition?" the man asked.
"When you make your move, I want you to kill this girl first. Her name is Yan Qianyi, a freshman from the Special Department of the Federation Military Academy this year." Shi Xin tapped her bracelet and projected the image.
On the light screen, there was the photo of Yan Qianyi that had been secretly taken at the dance party.
Without turning to look, the man said dismissively, "Just killing a little girl? That’s no big deal, not a condition at all. Tell me, what help can you offer?"
Shi Xin said, "In a month, the freshmen will go on a comprehensive outdoor training session. For the students’ safety, the training location is a closely guarded secret by the Military Academy and changes every year. But, as their instructor, I already know where this year’s training will be held and am familiar with all their arrangements out there."
The man laughed and said, "Instructor Shi, are you joking with me? My target is that man, not a bunch of kids."
"That man, he cherishes the future flowers of our nation greatly. If you kidnap them all and use them as leverage, are you afraid he won’t show up?"
Upon hearing this, the man put down his crossed leg and nodded, "That’s indeed a good idea."
"Then let’s toast to our pleasant cooperation in advance," Shi Xin said, looking at a picture of Yan Qianyi all day, her face revealing a sinister smile.
She had served the Federation Empire for many years, but in the end, she was ruthlessly abandoned and expelled.
Since the Commander loved the new recruits so much, she would give him another chance this time.
Just let him watch helplessly as the future flower of the Federation Empire got trampled.
See how many he could save this time?
This plan was killing two birds with one stone.
She had sworn that if she couldn’t have Mai Hunter, no other woman could have him either!
The next day at noon, Yan Qianyi was eating in the cafeteria with Yan Chuhua.
From the next table, sounds of discussion were heard, "I heard that two big names from the Mechanical Department are dueling in the Martial Arts Arena with mini Mechas. Let’s go see!"
"Let’s go, let’s go!"
Hearing this, other students around them also got up and left the cafeteria.
Yan Chuhua became interested, "Qianyi, let’s go check out the Martial Arts Arena. We haven’t been there yet."
The Federation Military Academy prohibited private duels among students, but it had a Martial Arts Arena where students could freely challenge each other.
The Martial Arts Arena also had a points system, where points could be exchanged for academic credits. High credit scores would attract the Military’s attention for priority employment upon graduation.
Yan Qianyi was less enthusiastic, "We’ve just enrolled, and we’re not going to the Martial Arts Arena to earn points. What’s so interesting about that?"
She was not interested in watching the excitement.
She had gone out to see a patient last night and returned to her rented apartment very late, rushing to the academy early in the morning.
Now she just wanted to take advantage of the lunch break to catch up on sleep in her dormitory.
"Come on, let’s just have a look and get a feel for it," Yan Chuhua dragged Yan Qianyi along.
The Martial Arts Arena at the Federation Military Academy was exceptionally large.
At that moment, on the arena stage, two ten-meter-tall mini Mechas were dueling furiously.
Suddenly, one of them was punched and sent flying directly toward Yan Qianyi and her group.
Yan Chuhua instinctively raised her hand to block.
However, the Mecha did not hit them.
Around the stage, there were transparent energy barriers that were invisible to the naked eye, separating everything.
"That scared me to death," Yan Chuhua patted her chest, "I thought that Mecha was going to hit us."
The fallen Mecha quickly got up and attacked its opponent.
"That’s so cool!" Yan Chuhua exclaimed excitedly, "Qianyi, have you ever piloted a Mecha?"
"No," Yan Qianyi shook her head.
"My family has a Mecha, and I’ve driven it; it’s really fun."
Yan Qianyi looked at Yan Chuhua quizzically, "Your family has a Mecha? Chu Hua, what does your family do?"
She had known Yan Chuhua for so long but still didn’t understand her family background.
Even in the Yan Family’s most glorious days, they had never owned a Mecha.
Yan Chuhua’s eyes dodged for a moment, and she quickly smiled, "I got an abandoned Mecha from the scrap market a long time ago, just played around with it. It was very cheap, it can only move simply, and can’t fight."
Suddenly, someone from behind called out, "Hey, are you Yan Qianyi?"
