Chapter 101: What are these? (3)

"Where? Where is this?"

When the leader of the group woke up, he was confused by the fact that he was still alive.

But when he came to his senses, he felt the pain coming from his chest that showed that he was indeed alive.

However, something felt off.

It was painful, but it wasn’t as painful as he would have expected it to be.

When he looked down, he found that there was a bandage and poultice that was wrapped around his chest where the wound was. It wasn’t a poorly made one, it was a very well made one that was clearly professional work.

Only he didn’t understand where this came from.

After realizing that he was fine, the leader of the group slowly started looking around himself.

He found that his entire group was with him.

At the same time, he found that they also had bandages and poultices that were binding their wounds. It was clear that these were all done by the same people based on how similar they were with each other.

But there was still one thing that he was concerned about.

"Who saved us?"

And more importantly...why did they save them? As well as how?

"You’re awake."

The leader of the group couldn’t help being surprised to hear this voice, but he looked up to see that there was a black cloaked figure that was standing at the other side of this room.

He had to narrow his eyes to look at him since he didn’t expect this room to be that long, but then he realized something else.

There were bars in front of that person.

Only it wasn’t that this black cloaked person was behind bars, rather they were the ones that were currently behind bars since they were the ones that were inside of the room.

"Who are you? And where is this place?" The leader tried asking, but he found that the black cloaked figure didn’t say anything. In fact, with the way that he just stood there, it was almost as if he didn’t even react to the fact that he had spoken.

The leader couldn’t help feeling a bit of a chill run down his spine.

After all, it was as if this black cloaked figure wasn’t a person at all...or at least it didn’t seem like he was a living person.

Seeing that the black cloaked figure wasn’t planning on doing anything, he slowly started looking around for a way to escape. Even if they were inside of a cage, there should be something here that would be able to help them escape.

While he was looking around, the people of his group around him slowly started to wake up.

They had the same reaction as him when they woke up and there were a few of the hot headed ones that tried to threaten the black cloaked figure. However, it didn’t seem like there was a single thing that they could do that could make him react.

Even when they hit the bars and cursed at him, the black cloaked figure just acted like it didn’t see or hear a thing.

So in the end, they lost interest in that black cloaked figure and started looking around the cell that they were in to find a way to escape.

Only none of that came to fruition.

"Where is..."

This was the last person that woke up that spoke, but he didn’t get to finish as something interrupted him.

"Screech."

"Clang."

Before they could react, the iron bar door had opened and the black cloaked figure had come into the room. However, the iron bar door closed just as quickly as the black cloaked figure shut it after coming into the room.

"What are you doing? Why didn’t you open the door earlier?" The leader of the group said while raising his hand for his men to move back.

However, the black cloaked figure still didn’t seem to react to his words.

The only thing that the black cloaked figure did was slowly move towards the leader.

The leader of the group couldn’t help knitting his brows when he saw this, but then he stepped forward to meet him before saying, "I’m telling you now that even if I’m injured, I won’t be that easy to take down. Why don’t you just make it easier on yourself and let us out? I don’t want to make this painful for you."

As he said this, he gave a signal with his hand for his men to circle around the black cloaked figure.

But before they could finish circling him, the black cloaked figure suddenly pounced forward at the leader.

He moved so quickly that the leader wasn’t able to react in time, but he was able to raise his hand in the end to block the punch that came at him. Only when he blocked it, he could feel the numb sensation that filled his hand.

"How strong is he?" The leader couldn’t help muttering under his breath.

However, he didn’t waste any time as he punched at the black cloaked figure as well.

His men also didn’t waste any time as they went forward to grab the black cloaked figure. It was just that when they grabbed his cloak, they found that they couldn’t hold him back at all as he charged forward.

The only thing that they could do was pull away his cloak to reveal his true appearance.

"It’s you?" All of them couldn’t help being shocked by the appearance of this black cloaked figure.

It was the one person that had been dragged down by the skeletal hands.

The same one that had stabbed the leader in the end.

The leader couldn’t help revealing a trace of anger when he saw this person and wanted to hurt him, but he found that this person was just too fast for him.

It even seemed like he was too fast for a normal human.

"Just what are you? What happened to you?" He couldn’t help saying as he dodged out of the way.
