Chapter 338: Kidnapped?
Chapter Three Hundred-Thirty-Eight – Kidnapped?
Laurel slept in the carriage but for some reasons, she woke up in a locked wet room. Her eyes stayed on the dead cockroach smeared on the floor for a long time.
Her first instincts were to scream loudly but that wouldn’t help anyone, would it? She couldn’t even catch the scent of anything familiar around her.
These brought back memories of her time at the prison and if not that she could feel pain at the back of her head, she’d have assumed that she was dreaming of the place again. She forced her body to sit.
"Bebe? Zeldris?" The rest could take care of themselves.
There was no reply. Next, she left the ground, using the wet wall as a support. It didn’t disgust her as much as she thought it would, her body probably adjusted to it.
"Did we get kidnapped?" she looked outside the cell. It was actually a cage inside a carriage and she could see the forest they had been at when she fell asleep.
Her hands were tied with strong chains and she couldn’t understand why. There was nothing else but she in the carriage and it wasn’t even moving.
She didn’t want to panic and calmly tried freeing her arms first. Within the next fifteen minutes, she caught the scent of a wolf running towards her.
She hid from inside and peeked from the side. A white wolf sped towards the cage, having a fish between its large sharp fangs that stuck out of its mouth.
Laurel fell back when her eyes caught the full size of the wolf. It was taller than the carriage with a wide body and it spotted her, boring it’s icy blue eyes into her green ones.
Fear gripped her heart and she tried to crawl back, even if there was nowhere else to go. It felt like the wolf wanted to make a meal of her with the fish.
Was this still a werewolf? How could it be this big?
It’s scent was different from the ones she was used to. It smelled earthly and accentuated with floral and woody scents – like wet sand. It definitely wasn’t from here.
"Who are you!" she yelled when she realized her position. She could tell that she was close to Damancas, at least.
The presence of trees showed they’ve gotten within the forest were Rolling Stones’ Pack situated at. Her body would be found if things didn’t go as planned.
The white wolf growled lowly and the fish in its fang fell to the ground. Laurel frowned, moving closer to it. If it took its jaw down to bite her then she’d tear the jaw apart.
But the wolf plopped down on the ground with a light thud, and kept its huge head on its front paws and acted like it was about to fall asleep.
Laurel heard the low whimpering sounds it made. She struggled to get the chains off but to no avail. "Will you at least answer my question before acting asleep?!"
A thought began to eat her up. She was here at a familiar place but she couldn’t remember coming here or notice the disturbance that’d have led her to be brought here.
There was no scent or trace of the others either.
"Unless, I’d need to recollect my memories." She whispered to herself, going deep into the cage. If it wouldn’t attack her and give her time to think, better.
She stared at its huge form again and tried to sense what rank it’d be, and her jaw dropped. How was it a warrior ranked wolf while having that size?
Was it an anomaly or a different species?
Her legs were crossed and she closed her eyes. She snapped them open hurriedly when she heard it grunt. She crawled back as it stood up again.
Despite its size, it seemed light on its feet that she barely heard when it moved. It also moved like a cat with curving but she was sure it was a wolf not an enormous cat.
"W-What do you want now?" she hated how many times she had asked it a question and it said nothing.
It looked at the left and Laurel looked at were it pointed. Her mouth stayed open when she saw the carriages, all three of them but enclosed within a barrier she could see.
Could it be magic? Could they all be in there and unconscious? Could that be why she didn’t get their scent? Or something more disturbing had happened?
"You didn’t kill them, did you?" She threw another question, and watched it shake its head like a normal person would. Did this mean it’s actually a werewolf?
"Then can you tell me why you’re doing all these?" she glanced at the carriage. Shouldn’t Thales and Saki be in there? How did that barrier capture all of them?
Why was she the only one that didn’t get trapped there? "Is there anyone else that can talk around here?" She yelled to the air. "Shift if you are really a werewolf!"
The huge wolf in front of her only moped without saying anything. She couldn’t tell if it meant harm or not.
As she demanded, the wolf shifted back to its human form and Laurel felt terrified to see the transformation. It changed to a young man, one younger than her.
"How did that... that big wolf turn to a young man— ah!" she crawled closer to the cage but shrieked and rushed back. The wolf stood naked and it wasn’t a pretty sight to Laurel, as his private was on full display.
"So amazing. First male body I see and its of a random wolf that kidnapped me." She sighed, trying to gather herself. Without looking at him, she asked. "Now you can speak, who the hell are you? And why am I in here?"
"You are the granddaughter of Tyrion, aren’t you?"
Laurel turned towards the wolf but didn’t look fully. Tyrion was her grandfather and she never remembered his name unless when it’s mentioned. "You know him?"
"I believe... that I am his grandchild too."
