Chapter 151: Side Story: Morin in the Republic of Mara (Part 15)
Morin’s chest filled with heat.
A deep, rising happiness overflowed inside him.
He’d always wanted to be someone’s special person—and now, he felt like he’d finally found that someone.
That night, Morin waited outside Malvis’s room.
Malvis came home late—it was already dark outside when he returned.
"Morin?"
Malvis tilted his head as he spotted Morin sitting on the floor with his arms around his knees in front of the door.
Morin stood up and faced him.
"Malvis, let’s talk."
"About what?"
"About how you said you love me."
There was no room left for ambiguity now.
Morin looked at Malvis with steady eyes.
Malvis flinched.
Then, he froze.
Morin stepped forward and took his hand.
Malvis instinctively tried to pull away, but Morin didn’t let go.
"I heard everything from Nabe. I understand now, and I want to talk."
"If you know everything... then you must be thinking it too, right? About everything I carry. My weakness."
"That’s why I want to talk!" Morin said sharply. "It’s not something that has nothing to do with me!"
Don’t run away.
He’d used his not-so-sharp brain and thought it through—really thought about Malvis’s burdens, his pain, the things he was working so hard to overcome.
And even after all of that... Morin still wanted to face Malvis, properly and sincerely.
Malvis looked troubled, then sighed and gave a small nod.
He let Morin into his room.
Malvis’s room was sparse, almost like it only existed for sleeping.
"...Did you hear everything?" Malvis asked as he sat beside Morin.
Morin nodded, gazing into his uncertain eyes—eyes he’d never seen look so vulnerable before.
"Even about when I born?"
"And everything after that."
"...All of it, huh."
Malvis let out a hollow laugh.
But to Morin, it looked like he was on the verge of tears.
He had never seen Malvis look so fragile.
"You don’t... look like you’re disappointed. Are you not disgusted?"
"I am angry at the people who hurt you," Morin said firmly. "But I could never hate you."
"You’re strong, Morin... That part of you always amazes me."
Malvis’s voice was soft, and he smiled—a fragile, yet beautiful smile.
There was something oddly seductive in it that made Morin’s heart race.
"I’m actually a pretty cowardly person," Malvis said.
"Call it what it is—a trauma. And it’s not like you made it that way. It’s because of the people around you, right?"
"Yeah... but even so, I hate it. Isn’t it pathetic? A crown prince who panics in front of a crowd?"
Malvis let out another self-mocking laugh.
Morin reached out and took his hand again.
Malvis wasn’t pathetic.
Not at all.
Those pained eyes were looking straight at him.
And even though he knew it wasn’t the right moment, just seeing those violet eyes made Morin’s heart throb.
Just thinking about them brought back the memory of that kiss—and it sent a shiver down his spine.
"You’re doing your best, Malvis," he said softly.
"But a pathetic man who can’t even greet your parents..."
"My parents aren’t scary at all!" Morin interrupted quickly. "And I’ll be right there with you! Malvis, you’re strong. You’ve encouraged me, you know?"
"Me? I encouraged you?"
"Of course! When you’re not around lately, I start to worry. And... that kiss... it made me so happy that I cried."
Malvis looked startled—and then visibly embarrassed.
He usually carried himself with such mature composure that seeing this almost childlike shyness on his face made Morin’s heart skip a beat.
"I thought... you hated it. I lost control once before and kissed you. You rejected me that time."
So that’s what he thought—he had misunderstood everything.
"No, no—that’s not it at all! That first time, I was still hurting from a previous heartbreak. I was all over the place. But this time... I was happy. Really happy. I mean, no one’s ever kissed me like that before. It just... caught me off guard."
Morin’s voice trembled with sincerity.
He had been happy.
Just remembering it made his whole body shiver.
Malvis was constantly on his mind.
"I think I’m the jealous type," Malvis muttered.
"Yeah, I heard," Morin said with a smile.
"I was jealous of Noel... and of that guy the other day. When it comes to you, Morin, I just can’t hold it back."
"Try to keep it under control," Morin teased gently.
He laughed, unable to help himself.
The fact that Malvis was jealous... it weirdly made him happy.
That probably said something about him too.
Malvis gave a bashful smile, like he didn’t know what to do with himself.
Slowly, cautiously, he reached out and pulled Morin into his arms.
Their eyes met—and they kissed.
Just a soft touch of their lips, but it sent a deep tremble through Morin’s chest.
"This is bad," Malvis whispered. "I kept telling myself not to touch you."
"Why not?"
"Because... if I start, I won’t be able to stop."
"Then don’t stop," Morin said simply.
They didn’t need to hold back anymore.
Their feelings had already reached each other.
Morin blinked up at him, innocent and full of quiet resolve.
Malvis gave a weak smile—but his expression was so warm, so tender.
His gentle violet eyes locked onto Morin’s.
"...Is it really okay? Even though I’m still not confident enough to face your family yet? Is it okay for us to be... like this?"
"It is. And... I want this. I want you."
Just one kiss from Malvis sent a deep, electric heat through Morin’s body.
Even the scent of him made Morin tremble with desire.
He just wanted to stay wrapped in those arms forever—to feel Malvis, deeply.
For a moment, Malvis’s eyes seemed to darken with longing.
He licked his lips slowly—and even that small movement made Morin’s breath catch.
Something deep inside him, something innocent and untouched, was beginning to ache with hunger... and anticipation.
...
Malvis’s lips touched Morin’s skin, and from that point, warmth slowly spread through him.
A sensation he had never known before sent shivers down his spine, gradually filling his entire body.
