Chapter 125: Side Story: Shen Xinghui And Ignatius’s Second Child (Part 1)
The peaceful days continued.
It had already been five years since Kaelion was born.
Perhaps because he was surrounded by many people, Kaelion had grown into a bright and clever child.
In a good way, he didn’t require much attention.
Still, Shen Xinghui sometimes felt just a little lonely because of that.
Shen Xinghui had also grown more accustomed to his duties as a queen.
He had learned how to carry himself, how to converse—mostly, it seemed, the important thing was to make the guests feel welcome and entertained.
Why?
Because leaving a good impression could helped them build lasting relationships.
Fortunately, these duties weren’t particularly difficult for him.
He didn’t mind talking to people, and it made him happy to see others enjoying themselves.
Of course, he still treasured the time he shared with Ignatius.
They shared a bedroom and tried to spend as much time together as possible.
Sometimes, they’d end up embracing each other in those tender moments, though they no longer used the birth pill.
It seemed that, more than Shen Xinghui, Ignatius had suffered during Kaelion’s birth.
For Shen Xinghui, it had already become a fond memory.
One peaceful afternoon, Shen Xinghui was reading a book to Kaelion while holding him in his lap.
It was rare for Kaelion to ask to sit there, and Shen Xinghui had happily agreed.
It was hard to believe that the once tiny baby had grown heavy enough to make his legs tingle slightly.
"Hey, Mother," Looking up at him with bright eyes, Kaelion suddenly asked.
Shen Xinghui replied with a gentle smile, "What is it?"
His child, who had started gazing up with such a mature look, seemed so reliable to him.
"When is my little brother coming?"
"Huh?"
The question caught him completely off guard.
A little brother? Hm...
"Evander has a little brother, right?"
"Ah, yes, he does."
Evander, who doted on Kaelion like a real brother, had a younger brother named Ivan.
Perhaps because of that, Evander hadn’t been visiting as often as he used to.
"Do you want a little brother?"
When he asked, Kaelion gave a quiet but firm nod.
It was such an adorable request that Shen Xinghui couldn’t help but smile.
And then, he began to think—maybe he should ask Ignatius about it.
His burden with parenting had been light so far, his duties as queen had calmed down, and he’d made progress in learning about state affairs.
Maybe it was time to consider for another child.
Most of all, when they decided to have a child, it was almost guaranteed to work.
Conception to birth would happen in just seven days.
It still felt ridiculous to him—was it really okay for the mystery of life to be that easy?
In any case, Shen Xinghui made a spontaneous decision: tonight, he would talk to Ignatius about it.
That night, Shen Xinghui waited for Ignatius as usual.
He had already took a bath and was relaxing when Ignatius returned to their room.
As always, they greeted each other with a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
His wonderful husband remained just as wonderful as ever.
"Welcome back, Ignatius."
"Ah, I’m home, Xinghui."
With a dreamy smile, Ignatius quickly changed his clothes and sat on the sofa.
Naturally, Shen Xinghui sat right beside him. "Ignatius, have you been busy lately?"
He started with a soft question.
If he had some important upcoming events or responsibilities, it might not be the right time to bring it up.
If Ignatius was feeling pressured, it would affect his work.
"No, not really. The national events have settled down, so I’ve got a bit more breathing room. Why? Do you want to go somewhere?"
Ignatius’s large hand gently stroked Shen Xinghui’s head as he smiled, that calloused palm still marked from years of sword training.
He had never skipped his practice.
Seeing that there was time, Shen Xinghui looked up at Ignatius with a playful smile in his eyes.
"Actually," Shen Xinghui began, "Kaelion asked me for something today."
"Something he wants?" Ignatius asked.
"A little brother."
"...What?"
Ignatius froze, his dark eyes wide with surprise as he stared at Shen Xinghui.
Even his hands stopped moving, caught in an awkward mid-gesture.
Shen Xinghui couldn’t help but find this side of his husband a little endearing.
After everything they’d done together, after already having Kaelion, why was he blushing now of all times?
"I was thinking... maybe it’s about time," Shen Xinghui said softly.
"You mean... You want another child?"
He nodded. "Kaelion doesn’t need much attention anymore, I’ve also learned how to manage my queen duties, I’ve been studying national affairs, and the people in the estate are all so supportive. Honestly, I have more than enough room to handle another child. So... don’t you think it’s worth considering?"
As he spoke, Shen Xinghui placed the small bottle of birth pill on the table.
Ignatius’s gaze fixed on it, a shadow of hesitation crossing his expression.
Shen Xinghui felt a small twinge of sadness.
"...Do you not want to?" he asked gently.
"No, it’s not that! I just..." Ignatius exhaled. "Honestly, I do have some hesitation. Childbirth... it’s very painful for you, isn’t it?"
"Ahh, I figured that’s what you’d be thinking about," Shen Xinghui replied, his mind drifting back to five years ago.
It had been hard.
The pain, the discomfort—it was all real.
But...
"But the happiness we got from it outweighed everything. More than enough to make up for it."
"Xinghui..."
"Ignatius, aren’t you happy?"
He reached up to caress Ignatius’s cheek.
Ignatius covered his hand with his own, closed his eyes, and slowly shook his head.
"There’s no greater happiness more than this."
"If we have more children, that happiness will just keep growing."
Was he worried? Thinking it over? Maybe he still didn’t want to?
Shen Xinghui couldn’t help but watch his husband’s face for a clue.
And then, Ignatius gave a soft smile.
"You’re right. It’ll be more than twice the joy, I’m sure of it."
"See?" Shen Xinghui beamed.
"Yeah... Xinghui, will you be okay?"
"Mhm, I’ll be fine. Besides, I’ve improved my skills when it comes to childbirth. Just leave it to me."
"...Sorry to put you through it."
"Don’t be silly!"
They looked into each other’s eyes, their faces close, and smiled as they kissed.
It was a soft, warm kiss—gentle and full of affection.
Both of them were in robes, so it was easy to slip them off.
As they embraced, Ignatius’s firm body held Shen Xinghui close, steady and warm.
Shen Xinghui wrapped his arms around Ignatius’s neck and kissed him deeply.
He felt Ignatius’s breath, the way his mouth explored his own—it tickled, but in a way that sent a slow, sweet heat spreading through him.
"Did you take the birth pill yet?" Ignatius murmured.
"Ah! I forgot!"
Shen Xinghui scrambled to grab one from the bottle and held it in his palm.
Ignatius laughed softly, clearly amused.
Hey, it had been a while—don’t laugh at him for forgetting!
"Come here, don’t sulk."
Ignatius extended a hand, and Shen Xinghui slipped back into his arms without hesitation.
They kissed again with their hands intertwined, and in that kiss Shen Xinghui felt an overwhelming wave of love.
Ignatius stroked his hair gently, carefully drawing him in, filling all the space between them.
His husband really was too good at spoiling him.
The birth pill in Shen Xinghui’s hand was a deep, almost glowing red—honestly, it seemed too vibrant to be anything but magical.
As he swallowed it, warmth spread through his core.
That long-forgotten sensation—the sharp, aching pull deep in his belly—returned, and he couldn’t stop the small sound of moaning that slipped from his lips.
"Is it already starting to take effect?"
"It seems so. It always kicks in quickly after I take the medicine."
Shen Xinghui gently stroked the black mark that had formed around their navel. "I wonder what kind of child it’ll be this time."
"Oh, it might not be a little brother. It could be a little sister instead."
"Either way, they’ll be adorable."
"Yeah."
They smiled and kissed again. "Looking forward to it, Ignatius."
Ignatius’s hands moved gently, tracing Shen Xinghui’s body.
Shen Xinghui had always liked that—how Ignatius’s large hands stroked them, how even the smallest touch could send shivers through them.
Ignatius seemed to be studying Shen Xinghui’s reactions with careful attention.
His lips brushed against Shen Xinghui’s pink nipples on his chest and pressing a soft kiss there.
The sensation made Shen Xinghui flinch and he realized, he let out a quiet, emotional sound.
"You’re really sensitive here, Xinghui. Even more so after giving birth to Kaelion, huh?"
"Well... ahh! Wa—wait!"
One of his hand kneaded the nipples on the one side of his chest, while his mouth lavished attention on the other nipples.
His tongue moved skillfully—licking, bitting, and pressing in ways that sent a deep ache spreading through their body.
"Ah—nngh! Nooo..."
Even as Shen Xinghui tried to resist, Ignatius didn’t stop.
He sucked harder to the point Shen Xinghui arched his back.
He was overwhelmed by the heat building deep inside.
He was pulsing with pleasure.
Ignatius licked the reddened nipples and chuckled softly, clearly enjoying himself.
He had changed a little lately—more uninhibited in a good way.
And Shen Xinghui... was becoming more and more responsive.
"Xinghui, does it feel good?"
"Mm, of course... but you’re going too hard. I feel like I might—"
"Want me to touch you more?"
"Ugh, that’s tempting. But before that, I want to do something too."
