Chapter 380

2-in-1 chapter:

------------------

“Ho ho ho!”

“Everyone, eat and drink to your heart’s content!”

Inside the Hog Pavilion, Kaelith raised his cup and let out a hearty laugh.

“Ohhh!!”

Ōetsu, Kirinji, and Ichibē all joined in the cheer.

Kirio Hikifune directed her Divine Soldiers, who carried in one dish after another.

Shutara Senjumaru sat across the table, wordlessly watching the group of men.

The scene before her made her want to speak up in protest.

Wasn’t Kirinji supposed to not get along with Kaelith? How come, once their nightly banquet began, they suddenly got along so well?

And that monk… sure, he always seemed a little eccentric, but ever since Kaelith arrived, he had totally let loose.

He was supposed to be the head of the Royal Guard. Couldn’t he show a little dignity?

Whenever these people gathered, it always felt like the entire Royal Guard had turned into a bunch of idiots.

As a member of the Royal Guard herself, she felt like her own dignity was being dragged down.

While she was silently lamenting, Kaelith had already appeared beside her at some point.

“Miss Robes-and-Spirits Auntie, what are you thinking about all by yourself?”

“It’s rare for our Royal Guard to gather like this. How can you drink alone in silence?”

“Let loose! Have some fun!”

“Uncle! Bring out the sake!”

At Kaelith’s shout, Ōetsu laughed heartily, reached out into the air, and pulled over a jar of sake from afar, setting it on the table.

The wine shot from the jar and landed cleanly into the bowls of everyone present.

Kaelith picked up his bowl and gestured toward Senjumaru.

Senjumaru’s eye twitched.

What do you mean by “our Royal Guard”?

Since when did you become one of us? I never heard of that!

Though annoyed, she still raised her bowl, smiled, and drank with the others.

As the drinks flowed and spirits lifted, Kaelith took off his shirt and personally went to prepare a few grand dishes.

The others all looked excited.

Since Kaelith first arrived, they had been curious why Kirio Hikifune called him “Master.”

After asking her, they were shocked to learn that many of the "Ruler of Grain” legendary recipes were actually taught to her by Kaelith.

Since then, the Royal Guard had always looked forward to his cooking.

Tonight was a rare opportunity—they were going to savor it thoroughly!

Just thinking about Kaelith’s food made Senjumaru shiver involuntarily.

As the three men drank joyfully, waiting for food, she quietly stood and walked to the kitchen as if by chance.

From afar, she looked toward Kaelith, who was cooking.

She saw him with his arms outstretched, releasing fire-attributed Reiryoku from both hands, gathering it into a large fireball in front of him.

Inside the fireball, a large white object spun and tumbled—it was unclear what it was.

Watching this bizarre scene, she couldn’t help but swallow nervously.

Suddenly, Kaelith turned around and looked straight at her.

“Yo, Robes-and-Spirits Auntie, interested in cooking?”

“Come on in, I’ll teach you.”

Seeing Kaelith’s eerie smile, Senjumaru instinctively took two steps back.

“No, no need... I was just looking.”

If it had been over a hundred years ago when she first met Kaelith, she might’ve smiled and joined in, curious to see what tricks he had up his sleeve.

But after witnessing Kaelith’s recent behavior, she felt a little spooked.

On the first day, he had fought Kirinji Tenjirō in a drawn-out match.

Then rested for three days.

On the fourth day, he broke through Kirio Hikifune’s Rope of Life.

Rested one day.

On the sixth day, he completely overwhelmed and defeated her—even though she had the home advantage and had woven an elaborate hunting arena.

No exaggeration—if the Royal Guard needed someone new, this guy could qualify based purely on combat strength.

Though she usually came off serene and in control, that was simply the aura developed from years of strength.

At heart, Shutara Senjumaru was still a reclusive introvert.

Back in Seireitei, she had been the captain of the Twelfth Division and had laid the foundation for its tech-based operations.

Even now, many scientific fields in Seireitei still relied on her original research.

For example, the “Shutara Index,” a scale used to gauge crisis levels, was developed from a spiritual pressure sensing device she invented.

Facing this version of Kaelith, she had no interest in being alone with him. She turned to leave.

But before she could take two steps, she felt a breeze at her back.

Terrified, she turned around—Kaelith was already behind her.

“Heheheh, trying to run now? It’s too late… Come in quietly!”

“Wahh! No!”

“Get in here!”

With a wail, Senjumaru was dragged back into the kitchen by Kaelith.

He handed her a ladle and told her to watch the pot.

Gazing at the bubbling soup in front of her, Senjumaru fell into silent thought.

.

“Eheheheh! The main dish is ready!”

Kaelith returned to the main hall carrying a tray.

When the others saw what he brought, they all showed surprised expressions.

On the enormous tray was a massive white sphere.

It was larger than a human head.

Following behind Kaelith, Senjumaru also arrived.

Each of her skeletal arms carried a similar plate.

“Kaelith, what’s this?” Kirinji asked curiously, eyeing the large sphere on the table.

It looked like a giant rice ball made from sticky rice.

Under the curious gazes of the others, Kaelith gave a sly laugh.

He raised a hand and gave the sphere a slap from a distance.

With a loud crack, the shell shattered, revealing its interior.

“Ohh…”

Ōetsu lifted his sunglasses, eyes full of surprise.

The white sphere was just a shell—the inside was hollow.

Beneath the sphere was a rich filling made from shrimp, beef, scallops, vegetables, and other ingredients stewed together.

“This dish is called ‘Kaihua Guoba’—a legendary, long-lost culinary art!”

“In the real world, making authentic Kaihua Guoba requires a specially crafted iron sphere—extremely difficult.”

“But for Shinigami who can use Reiryoku to manipulate objects remotely, the difficulty drops dramatically.”

“Everyone, dig in while it’s hot!”

Hearing that, the already eager group immediately grabbed bowls and scooped up the shattered shell and broth.

The moment the dish touched their mouths, everyone froze.

Then, all at once, they let out ecstatic shouts—their robes burst open, revealing their muscular bodies.

Watching the scene, Shutara Senjumaru showed a delighted expression.

This was exactly the moment she had been waiting for! Now she was not the only one who had done this.

Kaelith’s artificial soul cooking—its stimulating sensation the moment it entered one’s mouth was no joke!

.

With food and drink consumed, everyone returned to their respective quarters.

The explosive culinary experience earned high praise from Hyōsube, Kirinji, and Ōetsu.

Shutara Senjumaru, on the other hand, reaffirmed her decision: she would never casually eat anything Kaelith made again.

Back at Kirinden, Kaelith sat cross-legged on his bed.

He opened a small package brought from Seireitei and took out a vial, tilting his head back and downing it.

The vial contained the Superhuman Drug prepared for him by Aizen.

Given the absence of Tōshirō in the Royal Palace, Aizen had diluted the drug 600 times to prevent Kaelith from overclocking himself to death.

After drinking the drug, Kaelith entered his mental world.

Before him, the figure of Kirinji Tenjirō appeared.

In reality, their battle could’ve been decided much earlier.

The reason it dragged out for a whole day was because Kaelith wanted to see the full extent of Kirinji’s abilities.

Now, it was time for another round of joyful simulated combat!

Under Kaelith’s gaze, Kirinji Tenjirō charged in, gripping Kinpika and roaring.

This time, he didn’t use Rixiang Jimie—instead, he launched a direct punch.

In a blast of violent spiritual pressure, Kirinji lasted less than three minutes before flying through the air and slamming into the ground with a loud smack.

His entire body was riddled with collapsed sections from multiple shockwave strikes.

Most of his bones were broken, his limbs twisted at unnatural angles—completely motionless.

Kaelith, meanwhile, stood there covered in wounds of varying depth, as though he had just crawled out of a blood pool.

Finishing the first simulation, Kaelith let out a satisfied smile.

With a thought, the scene reset.

Kirinji Tenjirō reappeared, his injuries vanished.

The two charged at each other once again...

.

As daylight broke, two figures stood across from each other on the Omotesandō.

“Yo! Destiny calls—it's our final clash!”

“Ōetsu Nimaiya! I'm here to end your winning streak and snatch your flash!”

Ōetsu threw up both hands, riding the beat with flair.

Kaelith smirked, eyes sharp as glass:

“Vape clouds? I blaze on Reiryoku gas!”

“Nimaiya—you won’t stop this path I pass!”

“Yo!”

As their rhythmic showdown echoed through the air, Hyōsube watched in silence, his expression unreadable.

He silently swore to himself that even if none of that had happened, he would never let Kaelith join Squad Zero.

The mere thought of Kaelith and Ōetsu rapping together every day made him feel like he had emotionally suffered worse than getting mauled by a naked Komamura…

Once the rapping ended, Kaelith drew Rixiang Jimie.

Ōetsu turned to glance behind him.

There stood a row of beautiful women, each with a distinct style, exuding a decadent, hedonistic aura. (Joke)

After scanning the group, Ōetsu nodded toward one of them:

“Come, baby. Let the two of us first test this brat’s strength!”

With his command, the girl turned into a flash of light and flew into his hand, becoming a Zanpakutō.

Watching this, Kaelith clenched his teeth.

“Jealous! So jealous!”

“Fighting alongside your harem—that’s the true peak of being a Soul Reaper!”

“Old Man, prepare yourself! Today I’ll send you to the afterlife and take over your Phoenix Hall!”

“Hoh, if you think you can—then bring it on, Little Kaelith!”

Ōetsu raised his Zanpakutō, which flashed and transformed into a long, lightning whip.

The two charged at each other, engaging in fierce combat.

At first, seeing Ōetsu wielding multiple Zanpakutō and surrounded by a group of weapon spirits, Kaelith assumed he was more of a showman—relying on spectacle and strategy rather than raw strength.

He didn’t expect that Ōetsu’s own strength would far exceed anything he had imagined.

Wielding the lightning whip, Ōetsu moved like a storm of electricity, flipping and darting across the battlefield, launching attacks from angles most wouldn’t even consider possible.

Blessed by the Soul King, his body was extraordinarily strong—capable of feats ordinary Soul Reapers couldn’t even dream of.

But just as Ōetsu believed he had control of the battle, Kaelith suddenly threw both of his blades.

Gripping the chains attached to the hilts, Kaelith began spinning violently in place.

The blades of Rixiang Jimie whirled with roaring blue flames.

*Kaelith’s Hell Whirlwind!!*

Facing the agile Ōetsu, Kaelith went for full-on AOE suppression!

Ōetsu blocked a few strikes with his lightning whip but quickly realized his nimble style wouldn’t hold.

He extended his hand—another girl turned into a Zanpakutō and flew into his grip.

Upon release, Kaelith’s spinning motion suddenly faltered.

The weight of the entire battlefield seemed to multiply exponentially!

Seeing Kaelith slow, Ōetsu grinned:

“Little Kaelith, this blade’s name is Kūankō!”

“Upon release, she absorbs reishi from the air to create an intense gravity field focused solely on the enemy!”

“In Seireitei, she’s not particularly powerful—useless in places like the Rukongai or the human world.”

“But here in the Soul King Palace, where the reishi density is so high it’s nearly liquid, Kūankō’s power is at a legendary level!”

“No matter how strong you are, under her pressure, defeat is inevitable!”

With that, he raised the hand holding the lightning whip and swung it with a smug smile.

*Crack!!*

To Ōetsu’s surprise, Kaelith raised his hand and caught the incoming whip.

As Ōetsu stared in disbelief, Kaelith grinned.

“A gravity field… it’s a decent ability.”

“But in front of me, this level of gravity won’t crush anything.”

“Strength alone is enough to overcome it!”

With a loud shout, Kaelith’s arm exploded with incredible force—he yanked Ōetsu straight toward him!

*Fullbring!*

*Innate Flesh Power!!*

Feeling the terrifying strength surging through the whip, Ōetsu couldn’t help but feel like he’d just emotionally suffered worse than getting mauled by Komamura.

In his entire life, this was the first time he had encountered such overwhelming, unstoppable power!

Not far off, Hyōsube, who had been silently watching the whole time, found his own breathing quicken.

Unconsciously, he stood up, eyes locked on Kaelith.

“Good. Very good.”

He grinned, his old heart filled with joy.

Seeing Hyōsube’s reaction, the other Squad Zero members wore subtly puzzled expressions.

Kaelith gaining the upper hand—what’s with that level of happiness?

Considering Hyōsube’s special treatment of Kaelith and the way he clearly treated him differently from the other captains, strange suspicions began to form in their minds…
