Heir Of The Supreme -
Chapter 51: Moonlit Devil (6)
Chapter 51: Moonlit Devil (6)
Cecelia slept peacefully, seemingly without a care in the world...All while not realizing just how much danger she was in.
Neither the bone-chilling cold of the river’s water nor the loud noises emanating from her surroundings seemed to affect her.
Even though her body was inadvertently shivering, no doubt to preserve what remained of her body’s warmth, she was still knocked out cold.
She couldn’t even move due to the rope binding her.
However, that may have been for the better.
At least that way, she wouldn’t have to suffer like the two women who tried to kidnap her.
Passing away peacefully while sleeping was a far better fate in comparison to being slowly tormented first.
It was a blessing, in that sense, that she didn’t have to see the garish abomination end her life.
Taking a step forward, the eight-foot-tall creature loomed above the sleeping princess.
However, unlike a prince from a fairytale, the creature had no intentions of waking up said princess.
No... It wanted something different.
To make sure she never woke up.
As if thinking that slowly torturing a sleeping victim would be too tedious of a process, the grey creature lifted its clawed hand once more, aiming to kill the princess in her sleep.
The creature’s claws were dripping with crimson blood, which trickled down its arm, forming thin red streams.
While the water had washed away the blood on them earlier, the black-haired woman’s blood quickly replaced that of her blonde companion... Like a fresh new coat of paint.
Soon, Cecelia’s own would be added as a second layer of coating.
As the creature took another step forward, a loud crunch rang out through the air as it brought its foot down.
Beneath its clawed feet, the skull of a certain black-haired woman was crushed, bursting like a watermelon.
Shards of broken bone and bits of brain matter stuck themselves to the monster’s foot, caking its underside.
It was quite sad that the black-haired woman had gone through so many troubles to keep the princess safe, only for her to die here.
Despite being the enemy, the Kelonian had done enough to warrant a medal of honour from the Clairmont Royal family.
...If, of course, she wasn’t doing this to kidnap her.
However, instead of accolades and acclimations, the black-haired woman only received a miserable end.
For both her and her companions.
In fact, it was pretty ironic that after all the woman’s effort, the person she tried to protect would be killed by her own bodyguard.
...Or at least a monster that was once that person.
The clawed hand sailed through the air with an audible ’woosh,’ but just as it was about to reap her breath, it suddenly stopped mere inches from her porcelain-coloured throat.
(DRIP)
Crimson liquid trickled down from the creature’s razor-like digits and fell onto the girl’s delicate neck.
If they fell by even a little bit, the blade-like claws were more than capable of puncturing a bloody hole in it, if not severing it completely.
Not understanding why its attack was suddenly stopped mid-motion, the creature’s fanged maw contorted into a vicious scowl.
Flexing its muscles, the abomination tried to channel more of its monstrous strength into its arm.
However, the grey-skinned creature soon realized that no matter how hard it tried, its arm refused to budge.
It was as if its grotesque limb had suddenly gained a mind of its own.
Letting out a bone-chilling screech in anger, the creature tried to use its other arm to finish the job.
However, the same thing soon repeated itself.
The creature couldn’t understand what was going on.
Why couldn’t it kill the sleeping human?
Just as it was going to try again with its feet instead, the creature’s body suddenly shook.
Losing its balance, the creature fell backwards and hit the ground with a thud.
It tried to pull itself back up, but another tremor ran through its eight-foot-tall frame.
With the first tremor, a second came shortly afterwards, swiftly followed by another.
Soon, the creature began convulsing on the ground as if experiencing a seizure.
The creature had no idea why this was happening, and all it could do was scream in agony.
"SCREEEEEEEH"
Its eight pupils began to frantically dart around in a frenzy, and the creature frantically flailed its limbs aimlessly.
Unbeknownst to it, a change began to occur in its shard-like core.
After transforming into the hideous abomination, Blaine’s onyx-coloured core had taken on an ash-grey hue as if becoming an extension of the grey speck inside.
The usually dormant, black-coloured speck began to glow inside that grey core.
As black light began to flood the expanse of the core, the excited grey core began to be suppressed.
Initially, the grey speck tried to fight back, but it was no match for the black-coloured speck.
After a furious battle, the grey speck was forcefully brought to submission, reigned in by the might of the black speck.
The grey speck tried to resist the black speck one last time, but its futile rebellion was soon quelled.
As this occurred, the creature’s agonizing screams grew.
It was as if its very soul was being ripped by the black speck’s actions.
Even the pain it had inflicted on its victims earlier paled in comparison to the horrible torment the monster was forced to endure.
Under the black speck’s suppression, the grey substance that filled the creature’s body began to recede.
The substance began to separate itself from the monster’s skin, muscles, bones, and every other part it had attached itself to.
As this occurred, the creature’s body changed in real-time.
Its claws were retracted, its limbs shortened, and its skin once again assumed a soft ivory tone.
The creature’s eight slit-like pupils began to morph and fuse together, forming two round pupils, with one per eye.
Its monstrous frame began to contract and shrink, becoming that of an adolescent boy.
As the perverse madness left the boy, the youth weakly closed his eyes, succumbing to the embrace of sleep.
Blaine had returned.
