Chapter 920: Chapter 0556: Who Do You Think You Are_1 Chapter 920: Chapter 0556: Who Do You Think You Are_1 Chapter 0556: What Do You Think You Are?

It took only a moment for Qi Tian to spot several valuable targets. He gestured to Xia Xiaoming to follow and together they surrounded one of the targets.

The target was a boar-like Spirit Beast, larger and wilder than an ordinary boar, and proficient in using Earth Element Spells to enhance its attack and defense capabilities. Normally, such a Spirit Pig would cause significant trouble for other Spirit Beasts, but unfortunately for this one, it encountered Qi Tian and Xia Xiaoming. Despite restraining themselves to avoid revealing their true identities, not exerting strength beyond the mid-stage of Foundation Establishment, the Spirit Pig could not last long and was soon overpowered by Xia Xiaoming. Qi Tian merely assisted; the real effort was from Xia Xiaoming.

In the end, Xia Xiaoming tied up the Spirit Pig and carried it back to camp. Carrying the beast, which weighed hundreds of pounds, was exhausting. Xia Xiaoming, not a body cultivator, could muster an instantaneous burst of strength, but he faltered when it came to prolonged exertion. By the time he was nearing the camp, he could hardly carry on.

“Master, should we put this large wild boar into the Storage Bag for now and take it out when we’re close to the camp?” Xia Xiaoming suggested.

Qi Tian glared at Xia Xiaoming and said, “Have you forgotten my recent warnings to be cautious at all times? Both of our Storage Bags are limited in size. Zhang Ting has personally inspected our bags and knows we can’t fit such a large Spirit Pig inside. What if someone sees us stowing or retrieving the beast? If they compare notes with Zhang Ting, how do you plan to explain that?”

Xia Xiaoming immediately shut his mouth. He realized that his judgment and grasp of the situation paled in comparison to Qi Tian’s. At that moment, he decided it was best to listen to Qi Tian and not create trouble for themselves.

All Xia Xiaoming could do was grit his teeth and trudge on, staggering, but refusing to give up. Qi Tian was not completely heartless. Of course, he would not take over carrying the hundreds of pounds heavy Spirit Pig from Xia Xiaoming. Instead, he took out a cup of water with a few drops of Stone Milk Liquid mixed in for Xia Xiaoming to drink and regain his strength. Using the Stone Milk Liquid in such a way was a bit extravagant, but its effect was immediate. Xia Xiaoming felt a significant portion of his lost strength return, and the rest continued to recover.

Sensing something from the water, Xia Xiaoming sent a voice transmission, “Master, how come I taste Stone Milk Liquid in this water? Moreover, it seems to be the kind sold by Wanjie Commerce?”

Qi Tian replied, “Don’t ask questions you shouldn’t ask.”

Xia Xiaoming shrinked his neck and quickly shut his mouth, resuming his hard labor step by step, carrying the Spirit Pig that weighed hundreds of pounds back to the camp.

“Look, everybody, come and see what game we’ve brought back for you!” Xia Xiaoming called out boastfully before even entering the camp.

The scene of cheers and excitement Xia Xiaoming imagined did not materialize. Instead, he felt a heavy atmosphere and, looking up, saw that several strangers had appeared in the camp during his absence.

These were several young individuals, dressed richly and exuding a compelling presence. There were both men and women who appeared to come from well-established families. Most importantly, two among them, a man and a woman, both attractive in their own right, each had a spirit crow perched on their shoulders.

At that moment, Zhang Ting was surrounded by these people, in an atmosphere thick with tension, while Xiang Bo, whose relationship with Zhang Ting was not very good, stood with his guest officials and guards about ten meters away, treading on tiptoes to catch a glimpse of the action, his face showing schadenfreude.

Concerned, Qi Tian hurriedly asked Gao Jinmei for details.

“Not long after you left, these people arrived, and they seem to be interested in Zhang Ting’s spirit crow. At first, they offered spirit stones to buy the crow, but Zhang Ting refused. After their gentle persuasion and hard selling tactics failed, they resorted to intimidation and bribery. It looks like Zhang Ting is close to caving in,” Gao Jinmei reported objectively to Qi Tian.

Xiang Bo sneered, “It’s good if she can’t hold out.” He was eager for Zhang Ting to lose her spirit crow so he could settle the score with her over last night’s theft of their cultivation resources.

Qi Tian frowned almost imperceptibly upon hearing this. He did not wish for Zhang Ting to lose her spirit crow. Regardless of what happened the previous night, Qi Tian only knew one person who treated a spirit crow as a pet. As for the two individuals he had just seen today, even though they stood right in front of his eyes, he knew without having to test the waters that they were unlikely to become friends with Qi Tian. These young, richly dressed cultivators in the Imperial Family Secret Territory were not on the same level as Qi Tian. It was almost impossible for them to become friends; at most, they might consider Qi Tian as something akin to a servant. How could they possibly act as intermediaries to introduce Qi Tian to members of the royal household?

Soon after, Qi Tian’s prediction was proven correct. While Xia Xiaoming was making his way towards Xiang Bo’s direction carrying the Spirit Pig, both of the newly arrived spirit crows suddenly cried out in unison and took flight, quickly swooping towards Xia Xiaoming in two streaks of Dark Light.
