Bodar Khan, already pressured by Deng Chuanliang, could only muster up the strength to defend himself, lacking the capacity to counter-attack. When Qi Tian swung his staff at him, he had no more energy left to dodge. He was hit squarely by the Red Hoop Stick, introducing immediate death as his brain burst open.
Deng Chuanliang, who was in the middle of forming a spirit rune, saw Bodar Khan being killed by Qi Tian. He quickly disbanded the mana gathered at his fingertips, putting on a submissive smile, “Our master is indeed formidable. I’ve been fighting this Chi Di stinker for half a day, yet I couldn’t hold him down. You effortlessly dispatched him with a single stroke. Compared to you, I am far from a match.”
“Stop the flattery. Go help Gao Jinmei quickly. If you let the Gold Core cultivators of the Chi Di who are attacking Gao Jinmei escape, you will be the one I hold responsible,” Qi Tian said gravely.
Deng Chuanliang knew he hadn’t handled his previous task well. If it wasn’t for Qi Tian using some unknown method to promptly stop Bodar Khan from activating the Netherworld Fierce Fire Formation, everyone, including Qi Tian and himself, would have been obliterated by Bodar Khan. Just thinking about it set him breaking out in cold sweat. He quickly bowed to Qi Tian and soared up into the sky towards Gao Jinmei to handle his task more efficiently. If he messed up again, it would be impossible for his master Qi Tian not to lengthen his servitude.
The most dangerous aspect of attacking Chi Huo City was the Netherworld Fierce Fire Formation. Currently, seeing that the formation had been broken, there might still be some danger, but it posed no threat to Gao Jinmei and Deng Chuanliang. Qi Tian did not go help Gao Jinmei. He waved his hand and collected Bodar Khan’s corpse. He then methodically retrieved the bodies of the Chi Di cultivators at the scene, leaving none behind. Afterward, he used the Heavenly Dao Engine to scan the materials used for the Netherworld Fierce Fire Formation and the Isolation Array, making sure to not miss a single thing. These materials were tremendously valuable and exceedingly rare, hard to come by, and they could be useful in the future.
By the time Qi Tian finished cleaning up, Deng Chuanliang had already joined up with Gao Jinmei. With Deng Chuanliang’s assistance, even if Right Virtuous King and South Palace King, along with numerous Wolf Guards, personal guards and other Chi Di cultivators teamed up, they couldn’t trap Gao Jinmei. The two of them cooperated to easily break the formation. Then, they joined forces to hunt down the Right Virtuous King and his ilk.
Knowing that their formation was broken, and Deng Chuanliang had arrived to aid Gao Jinmei, the Right Virtuous King and his followers understood their desperation. The Royal Court had most likely met with disaster. If they irrationally decided to persist with their alliance to the Royal Court and rushed to rescue the Heavenly Khan, the only path awaiting them was that of annihilation. Without a hint of hesitation, the Right Virtuous King and his followers resorted to their last tricks and fled for their lives. To prevent Gao Jinmei and Deng Chuanliang from capturing them all, they fled in different directions. Right Virtuous King, South Palace King, and two Chi Di Gold Core cultivators fled in four different directions, deliberately not choosing the direction of the Royal Court. As for the Wolf Guards, personal guards, and other Chi Di cultivators, they scattered and fled like headless flies, in whichever direction. Some even nonsensically ran towards the Royal Court.
“Jin Mei, the master said we absolutely cannot let these four Chi Di Gold Core cultivators escape. There are four of them, you go after two and I’ll go after two,” Deng Chuanliang shouted.
“Understood.” Gao Jinmei responded. As an assassin, speed was her forte. While she had been engaged in intense battles, it had taken much effort to slay the Left Virtuous King, East Court King, and also dealing with the formation that held her captive, she consumed a lot of energy. However, she knew there was no time to complain or rest. As a servant of Qi Tian, carrying out his orders resolutely was her highest duty, leaving no room for negotiation.
Gao Jinmei took out a pill and swallowed it. This pill could stimulate her potential, but it would also increase her exhaustion. Consuming a lot of it could even risk damaging her foundation. Nonetheless, she had no choice but to take it in order to fulfill Qi Tian’s demands.
Deng Chuanliang’s face was succinct. Although he had revealed he was a Gold Core Third level cultivator, speed wasn’t his strongest suit. Even though his high cultivation level meant he had no worries chasing down a Gold Core First Level Chi Di cultivator, the problem was that he could only pursue one. After killing or capturing that one, turning to chase another cultivator in a different direction would be quite challenging. Regardless of how difficult it was, he had to accomplish it.
Deng Chuanliang steeled his nerves, took out a spell artifact, and placed it under his feet, his face displaying a pained expression. He initiated a spirit rune, and the end of the artifact beneath his feet ignited, causing his speed to skyrocket instantaneously.
Deng Chuanliang couldn’t help feeling dismayed. Prior to following Qi Tian, he had been caught and turned into a slave, sold at the Human Market in Wanjie City. When he was caught, almost all of his possessions were confiscated. The artifact was one of the few that weren’t taken away and was a vital tool for his survival. At this moment, to complete Qi Tian’s command, he had to resort to his last trump card.
