Chapter 625: Chapter 0408: Destroying the Royal Court (Part 4)_2 Chapter 625: Chapter 0408: Destroying the Royal Court (Part 4)_2 How could the owner of the rope just stand by and watch as Qi Tian seized his rope? He promptly grabbed the other end of the rope, trying to snatch back his weapon.
A cold smirk appeared on Qi Tian’s face. He yanked the rope and then gave it a wild swing. Now, the rope was spinning in the air. And the assassin who refused to let go was, naturally, spinning along with it.
For a moment, Qi Tian looked just like a child swinging a sandbag attached to the end of a rope, his smile especially brilliant.
Qi Tian didn’t stay put. He rushed towards Master Ju with the ‘man-bag’ still spinning in his hands.
“Stop him, we have to stop him.”
No one had expected Qi Tian to make such a move, using someone like a weapon. It was utterly disgraceful.
“Let go, quickly let go.” With no better plan, Master Ju could only remind the Gold Core cultivator spinning in the air to abandon all unnecessary revenge, to quickly let go of the rope, lest he end up as Qi Tian’s prisoner while trying to kill him.
The Chi Di cultivator from whom the rope was seized was extremely reluctant, but he knew how unrealistic it would be to snatch the rope back from Qi Tian in this predicament. He hesitated for a moment before letting go of the rope and found himself flung out and smashing hard against the defensive barrier.
This unfortunate cultivator felt several of his bones snap but thinking about his mission today, he lifted his head and glared at Qi Tian with murderous eyes.
“Sir, take this time to rest. We will handle Qi Tian.”
After comforting the man, Master Ju rushed towards Qi Tian.
A cold smile appeared on Qi Tian’s face again as he flung the rope that had just saved his life. Many Chi Di laughed out loud at his action. They had watched clearly how Qi Tian wasn’t the original owner of the rope. The one who broke several bones was the unfortunate man.
Could Qi Tian really be so ignorant? A powerful weapon like this rope, when in the hands of a new owner, often needs to be refined. Some even take an extreme approach, directly placing an item like the rope in their Qi Sea, utilizing its energy to nourish it for a long time to achieve a mental connection with the weapon. This kind of nurtured weapon was incredibly powerful to wield.
Clearly, the rope had not yet reached that level, but it was also absolutely not the case that it had just fallen into Qi Tian’s hands for less than a minute and he could command it. That would be nothing short of a fantasy tale.
However, the scene that came next shocked everyone witnessing it. The moment the rope landed in Qi Tian’s hands, it transformed entirely, slithering like a snake and gaining significantly in both speed and strength. It almost seemed as if Qi Tian were the rope’s original owner, the one who best understood its habits and actions. This accounted for the incredibly unexpected and shocking scene unfolding before their eyes.
Those Chi Di would never understand why Qi Tian could perform such amazing feats. In truth, the explanation was quite simple. When Qi Tian grabbed the rope, he was fully prepared. Using the Heavenly Dao Engine’s ability to sense Spirit Qi, he had accurately assessed everything about the rope, including the spiritual imprint left on it by its previous owner. This was a precaution likely not taken by other cultivators.
A spiritual imprint is also a type of Spirit Qi. Once it reached the Heavenly Dao Engine, it became fuel without exception. What followed was simple. Qi Tian needed only to activate the Heavenly Dao Engine to consume the unlucky cultivator’s spiritual imprint left on the rope. Then he branded his own imprint onto it. As a result, the rope promptly regarded him as its new owner, ready to fight for him against his enemies.
Once the rope left Qi Tian’s hands, it headed straight for another Gold Core cultivator.
This Gold Core cultivator was not known for his speed, let alone anticipating Qi Tian’s surprise move. Caught off guard, he was tightly bound by the rope and fell onto his own Defensive Barrier. Had the Defensive Barrier not been in place, Qi Tian’s move could have killed him by causing his fall.
Struggling desperately after getting bound, the Gold Core cultivator was quickly assisted by the originally unfortunate cultivator, who, despite his own injuries, rushed over and dragged him to the rear of the battlefield, away from Qi Tian. Then, he began to cast spirit runes, hoping to alleviate his comrade’s suffering by at least removing the rope from his body.
However, what caught both Chi Di Gold Core cultivators by surprise was that although the rope remained the same, it had become completely unfamiliar to them. No matter how the original owner of the rope tried to manipulate the runes or whatever various means he attempted, he could not loosen the rope in the slightest.
It was as if they were dealing with the same lock but with a different owner — the exterior of the lock remained unchanged, but a new key had been crafted. This kind of situation was rare in the Cultivation World, as very few could master such unusual and rare techniques.
Seeing that chanting spells and squeezing spells were ineffective, the previous owner of the rope resorted to drawing a dagger, aiming to cut the rope. However, he quickly realized he had underestimated the rope’s capabilities. As soon as the rope sensed the impending threat of getting severed, it autonomously started to shorten. While a shorter rope per se was not problematic, it was still coiled around the second Gold Core cultivator. As the rope began to tighten, the bound cultivator experienced a terrifying pressure as though his bones were about to snap.
“Don’t cut, don’t cut!” the unfortunate, bound Gold Core cultivator began to yell. Although he had been at the Gold Core Stage for a long time and had not suffered any grievances since reaching this state, he had forgotten what pain felt like. The angiush he felt from the tightening rope was unbearable, death would have been preferable.
The previous owner of the rope was out of options. He had no idea that simply losing a rope would escalate into such a situation. He had a nagging feeling that Qi Tian had seized control of the fight. Shaking this thought off immediately, he reassured himself it must be an illusion. How could three Gold Core cultivators fighting one man possibly turn the tables in favor of Qi Tian, whose cultivation base was much weaker? It was ludicrous, unbelievable, and completely untrustworthy.
Qi Tian, however, had no interest in how the Chi Di cultivators perceived the battle. Within a very short time, he managed to neutralize the threats of two Gold Core cultivators. Now, he only had to confront Master Ju, the remaining Gold Core cultivator. Despite Master Ju being at the second level of the Gold Core Stage and appearing to be very formidable, Qi Tian did not consider him a real threat. Even without the assistance of Deng Chuanliang and Gao Jin Mei, Qi Tian believed he could fight and ultimately win.
Master Ju was equally shocked by the sudden turn of events. The battle had barely started, and he had already lost two allies. The cultivator bound by the rope clearly couldn’t assist him in any way and, far from that, he had become a burden which could draw Qi Tian’s attack at any time. If Qi Tian really killed him by accident, their group — Chi Di — would suffer a significant loss, and he, Master Ju, would lose face and inevitably become a laughingstock afterwards. Therefore, while it was possible, he still needed to regard and protect the life of his ally instead of disregarding him.
