Chapter 600: Chapter 0396: Sun Xingbiao Loses His Life Chapter 600: Chapter 0396: Sun Xingbiao Loses His Life Chapter 0396: The Death of Sun Xingbiao

Breaking through to the Gold Core stage is not an easy feat for anyone. Apart from testing one’s talent and opportunities, it also requires substantial cultivation resources. Even with the support of his master Yu Ting, it was almost impossible for Sun Xingbiao to get the required resources for his Gold Core breakthrough. Of course, if Yu Ting was willing to give up everything, neglecting his own cultivation future, he could scrape together enough for Sun Xingbiao. But how could Yu Ting abandon his own future, and pour all of his resources into Sun Xingbiao?

To obtain enough cultivation resources, Sun Xingbiao chose to beg for help from the court, namely, Emperor Tian Rui. Initially, the emperor disagreed. Great Zhao is a relatively barren place, and gathering cultivation resources is not easy.

In order to gain Emperor Tian Rui’s trust and get enough cultivation resources from the court, Sun Xingbiao swore an oath to his inner demon, pledging eternal loyalty to Emperor Tian Rui. This finally persuaded the emperor to provide the resources.

What happened next is well-known. After acquiring the cultivation resources, Sun Xingbiao was fortunate enough to break through to the Gold Core stage and was appointed by Emperor Tian Rui as a Junior National Master. This meant there were two Gold Core level cultivators in the National Master Manor, and it became the strongest among the three Master Mansions.

Since his oath of loyalty to Emperor Tian Rui, Sun Xingbiao couldn’t easily leave Great Zhao, much less abandon it when the Crown Prince faced threats. Otherwise, he would suffer from the backlash of his inner demon, leading to either serious injury or death, with no benefits to be had.

Sun Xingbiao’s choice to stay wasn’t just because of his inner demon. He had a few trump cards of his own. He had received the opportunity to enter Wanjie City early and gained a pass to go back and forth from his master, Yu Ting. He even joined the Master Mansion in Wanjie City under Yu Ting’s recommendation.

During this period, he did everything he could and gained numerous treasures from both Wanjie City and the Master Mansion, but in exchange, he was left flat broke.

At this point, with Qi Tian set to attack, Sun Xingbiao was not about to withhold anything. He took out a bottle of pills and distributed one to each cultivator close to him. These pills could significantly stimulate a cultivator’s potential. Although they were domineering, their effects were fairly good. After consumption, one’s cultivation level could reach the Gold Core stage. The effect was even stronger than that of the Pseudo-True Pill. However, once the effects wore off, the user would essentially be finished, usually losing their cultivation and returning to the state of a common person.

At this stage, Sun Xingbiao wasn’t concerned about such details. The people around him were his trusted followers who had received copious amounts of cultivation resources under his care. Now was the time for them to repay his kindness. Even if he had to sacrifice all of them, that was within Sun Xingbiao’s acceptable limits.

Sun Xingbiao’s followers were not aware of the side effects of the pills. They simply obeyed Sun Xingbiao’s command, each swallowing a pill. Their cultivation levels began to rise as rapidly as bamboo shoots after the rain. Without much effort, they quickly broke through to the Gold Core stage. They were all ecstatic. At Sun Xingbiao’s command, they rushed out from their hiding places towards Qi Tian, Deng Chuanliang, and Gao Jinmei. Their main targets were Deng Chuanliang and Gao Jinmei. They aimed to delay the two, awaiting Sun Xingbiao’s entrance to the fray.

Sun Xingbiao too, swallowed a pill, and his momentum steadily soared. His pill, however, was a relatively milder stimulant. After consuming it, he could temporarily increase his cultivation level and strength. But unlike the pills taken by his followers, after the effects wore off, he would only be weakened for a time and would slowly recover without losing his cultivation.

Sun Xingbiao had carefully studied Qi Tian. He found that all the Gold Core cultivators that Qi Tian had killed, whether it was Meng Fandong or others, were all at the Gold Core First Level. Furthermore, none of Qi Tian’s victories were particularly easy. Some were only achieved with the help of others. From these examples, Sun Xingbiao concluded that Qi Tian’s combat power was probably equivalent to those at the First Level of the Gold Core Stage, but certainly no higher than the Gold Core Third Level, a realm that even his master, Yu Ting of the National Master Manor, had not reached.

From his research, Sun Xingbiao saw an opportunity to kill Qi Tian. If he could reach the Gold Core Second Level and surpass the Gold Core First Level, then the possibility of him killing Qi Tian would be more than eighty percent. Such high odds were enough for him to take a gamble.

Sun Xingbiao commanded his subordinates, who had temporarily broken through to the Gold Core First Level, to hold off Deng Chuanliang and Gao Jinmei. He himself moved to confront Qi Tian alone.

Deng Chuanliang and Gao Jinmei were greatly shocked. They sensed the aura of a Gold Core Second Level from Sun Xingbiao and feared that Qi Tian would not be able to withstand him. Though they wanted to support Qi Tian, Sun Xingbiao’s followers were fighting desperately, unafraid of death, doing everything they could to stop them. If given some time, they could easily kill these temporary Gold Core First Level cultivators without any injuries.
