This fact alone was enough to surmise that the National Master Manor and Guardian National Master Manor had never fought with the Imperial Master Mansion for the position of the Lubei County Master in the past. There was simply not enough wealth to make the fight worthwhile.

The second notable peculiarity was a certain place buried deep underground which had faint traces of Spirit Qi. If it hadn’t been for the Heavenly Dao Engine detecting a hidden chamber, they might have remained ignorant of its presence.

Qi Tian also identified the control center of the Four Symbols Array, which was the one place where Spirit Qi could be sensed. He had hoped to continue utilising the array as its value was quite high. If he could seize control, it could also serve to ward off enemies and protect the entire County Master Mansion.

Soon enough, qi Tian discovered the entrance to the basement. An iron door embedded with various runes. He placed his hand on it, activated the Heavenly Dao Engine, which effortlessly erased and absorbed the energy from the runes on the door.

With the runes out of the way, Qi Tian pushed open the iron door and stepped into the underground chamber.

The underground chamber was not large, roughly the size of two rooms. There were several chests stacked up inside. Qi Tian opened a few and found them filled with gold and silver treasures, and even chests filled with copper coins. However, there seemed to be no cultivation resources of use to him.

Shifting his attention away from those chests, Qi Tian found the Array Disk and Array Flag of the Four Symbols Array. Reaching out to the Array Disk, he was met with a wave of Divine Sense that burst out, shrieking like a specter as it charged towards Qi Tian.

Qi Tian gave a cold snort. He had been keeping a close watch on his surroundings with the Heavenly Dao Engine to prevent unexpected incidents like this. Immediately, he stretched out his hand and projected a Transporting Whirlwind from his palm, which swept away the attacking Divine Sense and fed it to the Heavenly Dao Engine as fuel.

After dealing with the Divine Sense, Qi Tian immediately tried to take control of the Array Disk and Array Flag of the Four Symbols Array using a method he knew. His technique was remarkably skillful and he soon had full control of the array.

Qi Tian let out a sigh of relief as he took out several top-grade spirit stones and placed them in the Array Disk. Using top-grade spirit stones would make the Four Symbols Array more robust and provide it with the needed energy for a long time.

The Array Disk previously contained only middle-grade spirit stones. With the upgrade to top-grade spirit stones, even if Qi Tian were to produce a punch comparable to a Gold Core cultivator, he wouldn’t be able to shake the barrier at all.

After dealing with the Four Symbols Array, Qi Tian turned his attention to a small box, which was giving off the strongest surge of Spirit Qi within the whole basement. Despite not being the most powerful he had encountered, Qi Tian was curious to see what it was.

Qi Tian opened the box and found a talisman inside. He took it out, and before he could examine it closely, his expression drastically changed. It was a Thunder Snake Talisman that, once activated, could release several snake-shaped lightning bolts covering a radius of several miles. Within this range, unless one had extremely powerful means to resist it, the only option left would be to await certain death.

What truly shocked Qi Tian was not just the Thunder Snake Talisman, but the fact that it had already been activated, with him being the unfortunate culprit.

With the threat successfully neutralised, Qi Tian took a deep breath. He realised he had underestimated the vast resources of a behemoth like the Guardian National Master Manor. He had assumed that in the Cultivation World of the Great Zhao there would only be one Gold Core cultivator for each of the three Great Master Mansions. He believed that outside these three mansions, there was nothing that could threaten his life. However, to his surprise, he had already encountered two threats in the County Master Mansion of Lubei alone.

This indicated the Guardian National Master Manor’s high regard for him; he was a thorn in their side that they were determined to eliminate. It also suggested that in the Cultivation World of the Great Zhao, resources related to Gold Core cultivators were not as scarce as he had imagined, and would surface when necessary.

Qi Tian inwardly warned himself to be more cautious and not underestimate the three Gold Core cultivators. His cultivation level and fighting power were already inferior to theirs. If they used any means that only Gold Core cultivators could use against him, he’d find it extremely difficult to avoid.
