Chapter 434: Chapter 0308: It’s Not Something You Can Be Just Because You Want To Be Chapter 434: Chapter 0308: It’s Not Something You Can Be Just Because You Want To Be Chapter 0308 Becoming is not as easy as wishing
Qi Tian collected all of the dead Locust Thief Bees, unsure of their potential use. Nonetheless, given their unique properties distinct from other Spirit Beasts, they might be useful in other ways. It seemed wasteful to surrender them all to the Heavenly Dao Engine.
Handling the dead Locust Thief Bees was easy, but Qi Tian was at a loss over how to handle those barely alive. If he still had possession of his Spirit Beast Bracelet, he could store the bees. This way, his control over their fate would have been a simple thought away. However, with the bracelet already returned to the Wanjie Commerce for safekeeping and the Storage Bag unable to store living creatures, he couldn’t find a completely satisfactory solution. The Heavenly Dao Engine couldn’t help either…
Just then, Qi Tian had a thought. He had never tried storing living beings in the Heavenly Dao Engine. Previously, whether they were cultivators or Demonic Birds, the Heavenly Dao Engine used them as fuel after their death. On very rare occasions, he had sent living beings into the Heavenly Dao Engine, but these were immediately transformed into fuel since the storage chamber of the Heavenly Dao Engine was not yet available. With the emergence of this storage chamber, Qi Tian had not yet attempted to send live beings into it. He wondered if the Heavenly Dao Engine’s storage room could harbor living beings. General storage equipment wouldn’t admit the storage of other storage gear within, yet the storage room could hold Storage Bags and Storage Rings… perhaps it could also accommodate living organisms.
Upon these thoughts, Qi Tian scooped up one of the barely alive Locust Thief Bees. The bee was incredibly fierce; even on the brink of death, it flapped its wings violently. As Qi Tian tried to capture it, it raised its bottom threateningly, attempting to stab Qi Tian with its stinger.
Qi Tian didn’t touch the bee; he summoned the Transporting Whirlwind. The whirlwind whisked up the bee and passed it through the black hole in Qi Tian’s palm to the Heavenly Dao Engine’s storage room. Qi Tian watched intently and quickly discovered, much to his surprise, that once the bee entered the storage room, it became completely immobile, as if frozen in time. However, it remained alive.
Qi Tian waited for five minutes before summoning back the bee from the storage room. Upon leaving the storage room and returning to the outside world, the bee quickly regained its vitality. However, its wounds remained; all its previous injuries hadn’t healed at all. This varied from the Spirit Beast Bracelet; within it, Spirit Beasts could move freely and heal themselves.
Even so, Qi Tian was overjoyed. He had been worrying about how to handle these living Locust Thief Bees, and now he could store them in the storage room, rendering the absence of the Spirit Beast Bracelet unimportant. He could keep them there until later, studying their usefulness. If exploited properly, these bees could bring him an abundance of cultivation resources.
Qi Tian immediately began to act. He moved the earth covering the bees and collected them all, dead or alive.
These bees were as large as an adult’s thumb. When their wings spread out, they were comparable to sparrows. Hundreds of them huddled together took up a considerable chunk of the storage room. Luckily, the currently ample space within didn’t trigger any worry of running out of room.
Qi Tian invested a bit more time to excavate the spiritual stone veins that initially lured the Locust Thief Bees. Afterward, he wandered around the vicinity, hoping to find the bees’ nest, which might yield further rewards.
However, the area was vast, and even with the aid of the Heavenly Dao Engine, Qi Tian’s search range was limited. Therefore, he took a living Locust Thief Bee and released it.
The Locust Thief Bees were both greedy and aggressive. The instant Qi Tian released it, the bee began attacking him. However, Qi Tian’s vulnerability to the bees relied on their massive group numbers. Against a small group, let alone a single bee, they wouldn’t be able to harm him.
Once overpowered by Qi Tian, the bee turned tail and ran, with Qi Tian following a safe distance behind.
The intelligence of the bee was limited, escaping was all it could think of. It had no clue that its actions would be leading its own kind to disaster.
After flying for over an hour, the bee arrived at a hill. Initially, Qi Tian believed that it was an authentic hill, but upon closer examination, he discovered it to be a terrifying beehive.
The composition of the beehive and the time it took for its construction were unknown to Qi Tian. He could only stand in awe at the sight of it. If he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, he would never have believed such a large hive could exist.
