Chapter 352: Chapter 0267: Performed at a Normal Level Chapter 352: Chapter 0267: Performed at a Normal Level Chapter 0267 Normal Performance

The creator of this underground labyrinth remains unknown; its vast scale not only extends deep underground, but also covers an extensive area. After killing Cheng Cai and his group, Qi Tian entered several other caves, but found them to be completely empty. However, every cave bore traces of coffins having been there for an extended period: all the coffins that had been here were now gone.

A slight shudder crept up Qi Tian’s scalp. If each cave contained coffins, and if each of those coffins held creatures as powerful as the Tiger Demon from the first cave, then just how terrifying was the force hiding in this labyrinth? Who was commanding this force? Why were they buried deep underground, and why were they making a reappearance now? And was there really a chance to form a Gold Core in this labyrinth? If so, was it related to this force?

These questions swirled persistently in Qi Tian’s mind. Several times, he contemplated giving up and leaving this unknown labyrinth, but the thought of the Heavenly Dao Engine compelled him to grit his teeth and continue his exploration.

In this labyrinth, only the caves that held coffins had some light. The underground passages that linked the caves, however, were pitch-dark. Qi Tian had to rely on the Heavenly Dao Engine to navigate safely. He chose not to use implements like torches which would give off light and thereby, attention: using such things would easily make him a target for ambushes. The Heavenly Dao Engine was more reliable—it operated silently and emitted no light. If he was careful, he could mask his tracks effectively from anyone.

However, there was one flaw in his plan. Qi Tian had assumed that the Heavenly Dao Engine could solve everything. This time, he found himself crossing another pitch-dark tunnel. Initially, his journey was smooth, but suddenly, he found his foot suspended in mid-air—he had stepped on some kind of trap.

Qi Tian had anticipated this scenario, and he’d had a Soaring Cloud Talisman ready in his hand. The moment he felt his foot was in mid-air, he activated the Talisman instantly, slapping it onto his body. He was very skilled in this action, having practiced it many times before. But for some reason, the Soaring Cloud Talisman, which had always been reliable, failed. There was no reaction from the talisman. Qi Tian fell, his body suspended mid-air and tumbling downwards.

Startled, Qi Tian quickly tried to save himself. He swung his arms around, attempting to grab hold of something, but there was nothing around him. He remained in a state of freefall. Quickly reacting, he took out another Soaring Cloud Talisman and smacked it onto his body, but it too proved useless. Then he pulled out his flying sword, but the moment he let go of it, the sword plummeted faster than he was falling, paying no heed to the spells he cast.

Damn it! It’s a No-fly Array!

The term suddenly flashed across Qi Tian’s mind. He had never encountered a No-fly Array before, but he had read about it in many texts. If one was activated in a particular area, it made the environment extremely hostile to cultivators capable of flying. Unless one possessed a force stronger than the No-fly Array, they would have to return to the ground and proceed on foot.

Who set up a No-fly Array here? Are they trying to sabotage us?

Qi Tian couldn’t help but grumble inwardly, but now was not the time for complaints. He realized that he had to start taking active measures to save himself, lest he crash to the ground and die. His physical body was powerful, but not so robust as to survive a fall from hundreds of meters in the air. Perhaps a Gold Core cultivator could be confident enough to survive, but he had to bury such hopes.

While falling, Qi Tian managed to flip himself around and was surprised to find that in the direction he was falling, it was no longer pitch-dark. Instead, a glimmer of light seemed to be waiting for him below, appearing to be composed of some symbols.

There was no time to decipher what these symbols meant. He pulled out two umbrellas and opened them, holding one in each hand to use their resistance and slow his fall. However, due to his late reaction and the intense force of his fall, the umbrellas ripped through the air.

But it was not a problem. By now, Qi Tian had collected a large pile of umbrellas, a handy tool for cultivators to shelter from the rain. With their owners dead, they had all ended up in Qi Tian’s possession.

Qi Tian promptly disposed of the spoiled umbrella and opened a brand new one to slow his descent. Once that umbrella broke, he switched to another fresh one. In this way, he remained falling at high speed, but it was much slower than the ten-meter per second increase he had initially experienced.

And so, Qi Tian landed in the source of the light. With his eyes wide open, he looked down to find that the light was encompassing another cave. He quickly dropped the umbrella from his hand and clenched his fist, ready to strike down.
