Qi Tian glanced at the Chi Di cultivators that were being held back. He found that their general strength was about the same as the Foundation Establishment Stage cultivators from the Great Zhao Nation who were holding them back. Even if he didn’t help, his people should be able to hold them back without major issues.
Qi Tian looked again at the distant Chi Di Camp, his eyes glittering. Grabbing his storage bag, he flew towards the Chi Di Camp.
On the Chi Di side, someone had long noticed Qi Tian. As Qi Tian flew over, two of the Chi Di people immediately flew up to intercept him. Qi Tian swung his Red Hoop Stick, knocking down the two cultivators who came to meet him.
Qi Tian took out the barrels full of oil and ruthlessly threw them down to the Chi Di Camp below. When the barrels hit the ground, they exploded and burst into flames, turning a part of the camp into a sea of fire. He quickly threw down a dozen more. He targeted areas with dense population of Chi Di people. Even though they ran desperately at the sight of the falling barrels, they couldn’t escape and were inevitably engulfed by the fire.
Seeing the chaos in the camp, more Chi Di cultivators rushed out from the tents to either help put out the fires or launch attacks at the airborne Qi Tian. Two of them caught Qi Tian’s attention. They were the first two who rushed out to fight the fires once the barrels exploded.
Because he was far away before, Qi Tian couldn’t get a clear look. Now that he was closer, he saw clearly that the two Chi Di cultivators were indeed formidable, both at the latter stage of Foundation Establishment and seemed to be among the more powerful ones in their stage.
Seeing Qi Tian charging over, one of the Chi Di cultivators, who specialized in using an umbrella, stepped onto his flying sword and charged towards Qi Tian. His flying sword was top quality, capable of speeds up to seventy kilometers per hour, twice as fast as Qi Tian’s Soaring Cloud Talisman.
Qi Tian hadn’t activated the Heavenly Dao Engine earlier. Seeing the Chi Di cultivator charging towards him, Qi Tian turned and fled. The Chi Di cultivator sneered, sped up his flying sword, and took out the umbrella that had previously extinguished the fire in the Chi Di Camp.
This was a plain-looking oil paper umbrella. The black surface was engraved with dense runes. As the Chi Di cultivator held the umbrella, the runes on the surface lit up, giving off an intimidating power.
Qi Tian got a fright and quickly activated the Heavenly Dao Engine, boosting his speed. By that time, the Chi Di cultivator had already aimed his umbrella at Qi Tian. He suddenly opened the umbrella, and the runes on the surface flowed out like a flood. This was an excessively fierce frost energy, even a slight contact with Qi Tian would freeze him solid. At that point, Qi Tian would become a puppet under the control of the Chi Di cultivator.
Luckily, Qi Tian managed to increase his speed in time and changed his flying direction to an S-shaped path, successfully evading the attack.
Beads of cold sweat broke out on Qi Tian’s forehead as he flew towards the center of the Chi Di Camp. The Chi Di cultivator followed closely, repeatedly opening and shutting his umbrella. Each time, a wave of cold energy shot out from the umbrella surface towards Qi Tian.
Qi Tian used his agility to the fullest to dodge again and again. The cold energy either shot up into the sky or landed on the ground. Those landing on the ground were devastating to the Chi Di army. Many soldiers were too slow to dodge and were hit by the cold wave. As ordinary worldly mortals, they had no ability to withstand this fierce cold energy. If Qi Tian is hit, he would freeze stiff, whereas they would turn into icy popsicles, completely frosted over and undoubtedly dead.
The Chi Di cultivator screamed in anger, but he was helpless. His abilities were more effective on stationary targets. However, against someone as slippery as an eel like Qi Tian, its menace was greatly reduced.
Another Chi Di cultivator who was good at water control and had participated in putting out the fire initially thought that his companion would easily capture Qi Tian. But seeing Qi Tian making a fool out of his companion and causing significant loss to the army, he furrowed his brow and flew towards Qi Tian on his flying sword. Both he and his companion were planning to catch Qi Tian in a pincer attack. They refused to believe that they couldn’t handle Qi Tian, who was only in the first level of Foundation Establishment Stage.
Seeing the second Chi Di cultivator flying up, Qi Tian chuckled coldly, took out another oil-filled barrel and threw it down at the Chi Di Camp.
