Heavenly Dao Engine
Chapter 287 - 287 0234 The First Thing to Do_2

Chapter 287: Chapter 0234: The First Thing to Do_2 Chapter 287: Chapter 0234: The First Thing to Do_2 This was practically a guidebook on the perfect circulation of Qi through the twenty-seven meridians. With this “Twenty-Seven Meridian Diagram”, one could imagine that every cultivator in the Qi Cultivation Period would have the possibility of perfectly circulating Qi through the twenty-seven meridians. Compared to the meridians that Qi Tian had figured out by integrating his past life’s medical theory, these meridians were more universal and feasible as they had been proven over hundreds and thousands of years in the Cultivation World.

Looking at this “Twenty-Seven Meridian Diagram,” Qi Tian understood why this Chi Di man could have the strength comparable to the fifth level of Foundation Establishment at the fourth level. Just as he had guessed, this man must have laid a solid foundation during his Qi Cultivation Period, otherwise, he wouldn’t be so powerful.

This “Twenty-Seven Meridian Diagram” was too important, and Qi Tian found that it was recorded on a scroll of beast skin, which was quite old. It was clearly an old object, not produced recently, and had been around for some time. Without any hesitation, Qi Tian decided to keep this “Twenty-Seven Meridian Diagram”. He planned to not share this technique with Zhang Lei and the others, but instead to hand it over to the Imperial Master Mansion. Of course, what he handed in would be a copy, while the original would certainly remain in his hands. Even so, he would consider whether he could exchange it for cultivation resources from the Imperial Master Mansion.

After storing the “Twenty-Seven Meridian Diagram,” Qi Tian turned his attention to the “Heavenly Deception Skills”. He roughly flipped it over and found that it was a technique to conceal one’s own Qi. If cultivated thoroughly, others wouldn’t be able to sense one’s true cultivation level. To Qi Tian’s delight, this “Heavenly Deception Skills” could conceal Qi in both ways, meaning that it could not only hide but also forge a higher level of cultivation according to different situations, making it more useful than the techniques that solely hid Qi.

Without a doubt, the Chi Di man was able to suppress his Qi to the Qi Cultivation Period due to the practice of the “Heavenly Deception Skills”. He had indeed cultivated it to a very profound level, but unluckily ran into Qi Tian who was carrying the Heavenly Dao Engine. The engine saw through his disguise, or else he would still be hiding in the little town, waiting for the Chi Di people to move southward. When that time came, he could attack from both within and outside the town, causing chaos at the Tongguan Left Guard Station. If handled poorly, the station might not hold on for a few days and let the Chi Di people take over Tongmen West Pass, and then rampage inside the territory of Great Zhao.

Thinking about this, Qi Tian took out those letters and opened them for inspection, but sadly, he didn’t recognize any of the characters as they were written in the Chi Di language.

Qi Tian simply packed up everything, then stepped out of the room with the letters and the “Heavenly Deception Skills”. He saw Zhang Lei and the others still dividing the pile of cultivation resources he gave them, calculating scrupulously without conceding anything to others.

Qi Tian said, “Come on, you guys are making such a fuss over these resources. What are you going to do when there’s more to divide in the future?”

Zhang Lei and the others awkwardly hastened their pace of distribution. Soon, the remaining resources were divided into five parts. Each of them took one part and the last one was given to Qi Tian.

Qi Tian did not refuse their offer. After storing the resources away, he brought out the book of “Heavenly Deception Skills” and asked, “I found this in the pile of stuff. Do you guys know what it is?”

Zhang Lei took the “Heavenly Deception Skills” from Qi Tian, quickly skimmed through it, and then exclaimed with excitement, “I’ve been wondering how we could not find this after searching for so long. Turns out, the Chi Di man had hidden it. Qi Tian, how did you find it?”

Qi Tian simply smiled and didn’t answer Zhang Lei’s question. He said, “Everyone can make their own copies of ‘Heavenly Deception Skills’, but remember to return the original to me. By the way, does anyone of you know the Chi Di language?”

Jiang Pan said, “I do. I’ve traveled widely and once dealt with the Chi Di people, so I’ve picked up some.”

Zhang Lei said, “I know some too. The National Master Mansion has some chi di language books. I’ve learned the language in order to understand them.”

“Good, you two come with me.” Qi Tian instructed.

Qi Tian led Jiang Pan and Zhang Lei to his room where he produced those letters and gave them to Zhang Lei and Jiang Pan to decipher the contents.

As Jiang Pan translated the contents of the letters, he noticed that they were secretly correspondence between the slain Chi Di cultivator and the Chi Di Kingdom, detailing a lot of information. Most of it was outdated, but when he looked at the date on the most recent letter, Jiang Pan’s face changed. “This is bad, the Chi Di people are moving southward earlier this year!”

“What? Let me see that letter quickly.” said Zhang Lei urgently.

Jiang Pan hastily handed the letter to Zhang Lei. Upon reading it, her face turned pale and she said to Qi Tian, “Junior Brother, this letter says that the climate in the Chi Di region isn’t good this year. The nobles within the region have demanded an early migration southward. Moreover, this is the best course of action before Great Zhao can retaliate.”

Qi Tian replied, “You don’t need to explain the reasons to me. Does it mention when this is going to happen?”

Zhang Lei quickly read the letter more carefully, then, with a face turned somewhat pale, said, “I found the time, it’s tomorrow at dawn.”

Jiang Pan sighed with relief, “Tomorrow dawn, that still leaves us a day, it’s enough time.”

Zhang Lei glanced at Jiang Pan as if he were an idiot and said, “When I say ‘tomorrow dawn’, I mean tomorrow begins after midnight.”

The color drained from Jiang Pan’s face, “Wait, so aren’t you saying that there is only three or four hours left until the Chi Di people move south?”

Zhang Lei nodded and asked Qi Tian, “Junior Brother, what should we do?”

Without hesitation, Qi Tian responded, “Senior Sister, make sure everyone immediately focuses on healing their injuries. I’m going to find Huang Zhiwei.”

Qi Tian collected several letters and then left the courtyard in a hurry, rushing towards the Commander Mansion. Although the border army was unaware that the Chi Di people were about to move south, the Commander Mansion remained heavily guarded. A hundred or so soldiers were patrolling and guarding. Seeing Qi Tian hurrying over, a fully-armored officer came to greet him, followed by a group of soldiers.

“Who is it? Don’t you know this is a highly sensitive military area, entry is strictly forbidden?” the officer shouted.

Qi Tian said, “I am Qi Tian, the successor of the Imperial Master Mansion. I have urgent news and must see Commander Huang immediately. Please announce my arrival.”

Upon hearing this, the officer gestured for Qi Tian to precede him. As they turned to walk towards the Commander Mansion, the officer suddenly drew his sword and slashed at Qi Tian’s neck.

With a sinister smile, the officer seemed to imagine Qi Tian’s head coming off his body. However, before his blade could touch Qi Tian’s neck, Qi Tian spun around and struck out with his palm, hitting the officer’s sword-wielding arm. There was a snap, and his arm was instantly broken by Qi Tian.

Clutching his broken arm, the officer shrieked, “Kill him! Kill him at once!”

Suddenly, the hundred plus border soldiers guarding the Commander Mansion surrounded them. Some of them even released the aura of cultivators, one amongst them even at the Foundation Establishment Stage, Level Three.

“Audacious rebel, daring to infiltrate the Commander Mansion at night. Brothers, kill him!” the Foundation Establishment Stage cultivator shouted.

Qi Tian’s expression changed slightly. He wasn’t sure if there was a misunderstanding, but either way, he didn’t intend to explain anything. His first priority was to ensure his own safety. Anyone who posed a threat to his life deserved to die.
